i <3 characters who are devoted to corrupt institutions and ideals to the point of their own destruction. i <3 martyrs who suck.
is there really that much of a difference between "not being aromantic or polyamorous but believing in all of their beliefs" and "being aromantic and polyamorous"
Matt did u read star wars brotherhood? The newest obi wan and anakin book from a few years ago?
I did not.... if you read it I would love your thoughts on it though
can we stop treating US imperialism like it's the "fault" of one president or one party at one moment in time? can we stop treating this like it's an exception to the rule? "kamala wouldn't have done this" harris would have done it smarter. her administration would have manufactured more consent for it. in all likelihood, you would have been more at peace with it, or at least would have cared less. rather than pretending this is an aberration to the Long and Moral and Just and Divinely Absolved History of the United States, can we accept that it IS the rule?
Realize that the USA bombing Venezuela is not the result of pointless evil or the desire to simply cause chaos and destruction. These attacks are planned to the letter, that is the result of being under the boot of an imperial empire that seeks to exploit the natural resources of another country; more specifically Latin America. As much as people say that Trump is a uniquely bumbling idiot, he’s operating just as those before him have in the past (see Obama and his drone strikes on the Middle East).
The USA is functioning as intended. This isn’t the first time the government has attempted to or has staged a coup in order to gain control.
for those wanting to help venezuelans affected by the bombings through donations, these are currently the best ways to go. will add more links as more is set up

may 2026 bring us closer to a Palestine liberated from zionist occupation, and a Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan free from proxy exploitation. May 2026 see more people gain the courage to make the world a little better than before. May we all remember to tend seeds whose trees we may never sit beneath. Consider donating to/sharing The Sameer Project, or Khartoum Aid Kitchen or Focus Congo. All power to all the people. Happy new year.
this is a great time of year to buy from native stores or donate to native organizations. you can figure out who's land you're on here, and below i've listed some (of many) businesses you can support ♡

My favorite shoes in the winter are my Manitobah mukluks, which are Metis-owned and participate heavily in community initiatives with other indigenous nations to train and support artists. They also partner regularly with artists from other nations on their shoes to create custom editions. Currently they are collaborating with Rosa Scribe (Cree), Janae Grass (Sac & Fox), Atheana Picha (Salish), and Melissa Peter-Paul (Mi'kmaw). They also host an indigenous market that showcases and promotes indigenous artists.
Plus they're warm as hell and the sheepskin lining means I don't have to wear socks, which is extremely nice sensory comfort. So that's nice as well.
Eighth Generation (Snoqualmie Tribe) has some beautiful stuff - I've bought a huge beautiful beach towel and cool socks from them personally, but they have jewelry, art, housewares, lots of great work.
image is one of my favourite blankets from Eighth Generation

a couple new additions:

middle picture: blanket made by Rachel Twoteeth Pichardo, a Little Shell artist from North Carolina
It's not a small creator, but Prados Beauty is indigenous-owned and partners with indigenous designers. They're pretty mainstream now but I've only heard good things about their corporate practices.
Discover Prados Beauty, featuring high-quality cosmetics at affordable prices. Embrace all of your beauty with ethically made cosmetics, too
Thunderbird Skin --- skincare made Mooretown Rancheria Maidu women from Northern California, who now live in the UK. they also make products specifically for eczema & psoriasis & have trial sizes of nearly all their products ((recommended by @a-wild-haggis))

STRIKE PAUSE BECAUSE MANAGEMENT HAS AGREED TO NEGOTIATIONS. NOT A W YET (WE DON'T HAVE AN AGREEMENT AND COULD GO BACK ON STRIKE IF THINGS STALL) BUT. SOLIDARITY FOREVER. ETC.
strike exhaustion-slash-delirium is making people miscommunicate crucial information in ways previously unknown to man. I need to be taken out with a tranquilizer dart so that I can go to sleep tonight and not worry about things that are 100% not my fault.
on strike again. let's hear some noise for two strikes in two years!!!!!!!!!! <- guy who has been yelling into a megaphone for a non-negligible amount of time and wants to sleep for twelve or perhaps even thirteen hours straight
