"I think my diplomacy will remain... more direct"
it's also interesting to me how a lot of people also tends intentionally dumbify Halsin and if it has anything to do with stereotypes about men of the same appearance being mid intellectually at the very best oftenly shown in other media. cuz it's very interesting in the sad way to me that the fact of him being actually very smart, intelligent, curious and educated about his specific interests to the point of creating new ways of doing things, which is also repeatedly being told to the players by npcs and surroundings and, therefore, laying on the surface, still isn't fucking obvious for masses. like, i genuienly think this extent of skipping or ignoring stuff needs to be studied to some extent
Building off my last post about Simon’s mutations being dormant for the most part, but triggered during periods of high emotional distress

a trap. let us send forth our least favorite.
Oh boy it's "people misunderstand Halsin's comments about the city" hours again.
Halsin hating the city isn't because he's delusional about how harsh nature can be. He knows- he uses a metaphor about overgrown canopies starving trees of sunlight.
The difference is that in nature, those are mistakes. Or just like, unfortunate parts of life.
There's not a council of lions that's trying to genocide zebras. The lions just want dinner. They also don't stop zebras from grazing on plants or corral them into tight spaces where they all get sick. They don't kidnap zebras and torture and sacrifice them.
THAT is the difference Halsin is getting at. His perspective is that bad things that happen in nature are because plants and animals don't have the higher reasoning to help each other. Sapient beings do but they choose to hurt each other. Wildfires kill things all the time but refresh the trees. Whereas sapient people have more stuff than they could ever use but let a big portion of people starve. Children get murdered. Etc.
Halsin's perspective isn't "bad things don't happen in nature," it's "bad things don't happen in nature due to malice, sadism, or startling levels of greed"
I AM ONCE AGAIN BEGGING THE BALDUR'S GATE 3 FANDOM TO LEARN READING COMPREHENSION ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO HALSIN!!!!!

re: your latest comic with Connie and Shadowheart
evil evil evil, I literally just woke up to feed my dog her breakfast and got excited to see another cute post about those two and now I am sad!!!! evil!! jail for you!!
(obviously joking, but omg your mind ,,, not trying to be annoying but did you know its pretty common for people to wait until their loved ones have stepped out of the room to actually pass away? I work in a job that sometimes crosses over with hospice, and yeah, sometimes nurses will convince loved ones to go get a tea or coffee or something because the patient just.. won't pass even though they've had a death rattle for a day or two. As soon as their loved ones leave, its almost instant with how fast they go. for Shadowheart to send Connie away for tea, just long enough so he wouldn't have to actually see her stop breathing is so bittersweet)
True! That's kinda how my grandmother passed away.
It would've been worse for him to be around when it happens, he probably would try to do something to prevent it. Good thing they'll meet again, if Moonmaiden will allow.
