alright so my job is to attempt to translate all of these! I’m starting this blog so I can keep notes and others can see.

The pictures will be labeled ‘picture 1-9’, complete translations will be tagged as ‘finished’ while incomplete will be ‘wip’

also any unknown letters will be replaced by ? and if I have a guess then it’ll be besides the question mark in parentheses

ANYWAY so this seems to be text taken from this article about aliens. i spent some time googling what i translated and combing through the results until i could find it!

not super exciting but it did help me practice my alternian its not a loss. the only differences from the article was the formatting (certain lines/words were taken out or i assume were moved) and of course random numbers/the letter V throughout the text

here are some bonus lines that i was in the middle of translating:

ok I’m up to date with all my notes rn I’m trying to translate a bit more picture 9 then I’ll starting with the hell that’s the small text

some interesting things:

just from a glance you can see that picture 6 is written in ‘proper alternian’

Dammeks letters are different from proper alternian but I don’t know if it’s just him or if they changed the language in hiveswap

Picture 8 looks difficult but it seems doable

alright did a little more on picture 9. I tried guessing how many letters were there first and where spaces would be then filled in the letters I could recognize. His handwriting is a lot messier than the sample provided so I’m using the letters I’ve confirmed to see if there’s any doubles as well.

I’ll take a short break from that and I’m moving onto picture 8, paragraph 3 this is MUCH smaller but I can make out certain letters.

My strategy is to go line to line and just fill in the letters I can instantly recognize, any ones I don’t know but have seen previously will be colored so when I do know what is it I can easily go through and fill it out. After the initial translation I’ll do an update!
