A collection of translated texts, mostly from Chinese to English. Requests are welcome, although they might take an eternity to get to. I have to thank you very much for translating the novel of Murasakiiro no Qualia. I was already a huge fan from the series and now I'm a fan of yours. Truly, thank you very much. But as I plan to translate the novel to portuguese from your translation, I have this question: Do you have any plans to adquire the japanese version of the novel? You know, it's not so good to do a fourth translation, but I don't have choice... Also, do you plan to translate Ueo Hisamitsu's other novels?
You’re very welcome.
I’ve been considering cross-referencing with a Japanese version of the novel, but given my very limited ability in Japanese (such that I can just barely understand a simple story in an app and would stand absolutely zero chances at translating poetry), I don’t think it would do very much good.
Oh, and another thing to note if you’re translating from my translation: I’ve been taking an increasing number of liberties with the punctuation and phrasing, so please be careful if you’re thinking of doing the same. In a lot of places, I’ve put sentences together using semicolons or dashes, or broken them apart if it seemed necessary, largely because English grammar is just a lot less flexible than Chinese in some ways. I have also, of course, substituted one image or idiom for another at various points. I’m reasonably confident that the meaning and tone have been preserved to the best of my ability, but that’s because I’ve allowed myself to twist everything else in its service.
As for his other novels, well... Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, shall we? ^^; If any of his other works catch my eye and I can find some decent raw material to work with, then perhaps. At the current rate, though, I’m more likely to work on Hime no Miko after this. Shrine maidens are underappreciated around here.
You'd think that Tenjou would have grown better at picking on Yukari over the years, but I guess this means that she was never actually serious about it.

10. Marii Talks About Sci-Fi
Lunch break one day.
Extremely unusually, Tenjou Nanami didn't come to argue with us - all she had was a sarcastic edge to her words. After we all had lunch together, Tenjou closes the lid of her lunchbox, a strange smile floating onto her lips.
"...Marii, I've been into sci-fi lately."
So it's for this topic of conversation that she's gone out of her way to act amiable; I can't help but tense up.
In contrast to my tension, Yukari enthusiastically encourages Tenjou to go on.
Tenjou immediately puts on a malicious look.
"Marii, have you considered that maybe it isn't that you see humans as robots, but that you're seeing our truth behind us?"
"I don't get it."
"In other words, we're all actually robots, we just think we're human. That's right, maybe we're all robot invaders sent by aliens plotting to conquer Earth."
"Robot invaders?"
"In order to blend into the human world, we were given the forms of humans and even have the memories of humans, just like actual humans. Even we ourselves have forgotten our original goal in coming to Earth, but once the aliens give us the order, we'll recover our robot invader memories and start to act upon our mission to conquer the Earth.
Nobody knows about the alien conspiracy.
But you can see our true forms. You're the only one who has discovered the truth, so you alone can save this planet - no, it's more like this.
--The invasion has long since ended; we're all robots who think we're humans, while the only real human is you - what about this?"
Stop this nonsense, I raise my voice.
Yukari gazes at Tenjou, a smile appearing on her face.
"...Tenjou, Gaku, I hope you won't be angry."
"Angry about what?"
"I've never thought that what I saw with my own eyes wasn't real, not once."
Her purple irises, unusally clear, look perfectly sacred and inviolable.
She really is very strong, I can't help but think.
Actually, if you think about it, it's a matter of course. A "sense of vision" different from that of others is absolutely a "trial" given to her by the heavens, and Yukari, who has endured this "trial", is certainly not a weak person, and could not possibly be weak.
No matter what those purple eyes make her see, she certainly wouldn't give in that easily.
The ones who give in would certainly not be Yukari herself, but the people around her.
Phew, this was a particularly long chapter. It does do its work in setting Yukari up as a likeable character, though, and not just an average moe girl with quirky vision.
9. Things in Marii's Eyes
"Class prez, my friend's doing track and field tomorrow, will the weather be good?"
"Hahaha, Marii, you really value your friends... Hmm, even the sky is smiling, it should be a big sunny day tomorrow."
"Uwaah, really? That's great! But your way of talking is really weird."
"...Please don't criticise my manner of speech, thank you very much."
Our class president's weather forecasts have never been wrong.
That's why, when someone in our class wants to know what the weather will be like, they run over and ask the class president. Even if the weather forecast on TV says it'll be sunny, if she predicts that it'll rain, everyone will bring an umbrella with them the next day, and each time it's her forecast that's more correct - it's tried and true. Since she has a talent for predicting the weather, just about everyone in the class encourages her to become a fisherman, but to everyone's disappointment, she aims to become a professional weather forecaster.
I don't know whether she realises it, but the person who first discovered that she has this talent was this very Marii Yukari.
Yukari was the first one to ask her about the weather.
In the beginning, it was just Yukari asking and class prez answering, and in the end she was exactly correct. After repeating like this many times, everyone started to run to her to ask about the weather, and thus her fame naturally took off.
Simply put, Yukari discovered our class president's talent for weather forecasting.
Why did she ask class prez about the weather at the time? Hearing my question, Yukari answers with a smile:
"Because I saw that there were high-tech sensors installed on her body. With those sensors, it shouldn't be too hard to predict the weather."
...Of course, I didn't see any sensors at all.
---
Our class president's prediction was extremely accurate, and the next day is in fact a sunny day.
Yukari cheerfully heads to the sports ground to cheer for her primary school friend, and I follow her to see what's going on.
But as I see it, there doesn't seem to be a need for cheering.
Even an outsider like me can see that Yukari's friend is far from the common league. In fact, from the audience's discussion, I also learn that she has the potential to win the national race.
"I didn't know you had such an amazing friend, it's awesome."
Upon hearing my praise, Yukari immediately puffs out her chest.
"At the time, it was me who encouraged Shuu (her friend's nickname) to take part in track and field. At the time, she didn't know which club to join, and it was me who suggested that she join track and field, because I knew she was born for racing."
"...By that, you mean...?"
Yukari nods and leans into my ear to whisper.
"...You can't tell anyone this, but Shuu's legs have really advanced rollers and small propulsors installed in them."
Rollers aren't too hard to understand, but I really don't get the propulsors. I guess it's some kind of equipment that aids racing?
I watch "Shuu", standing on the starting line, shoot out like an arrow and pull ahead by a large distance in almost no time.
Of course, the case with "Shuu" is just like our class president, and in actual fact, her legs have neither rollers nor some kind of propulsor.
But judging by the speed at which she sprints, it's pretty easy to believe that she actually does have those things on her legs.
I say my thoughts out loud, but Yukari sighs.
"...If Shuu could use those rollers and propulsors properly, I'm sure she could run even faster than this."
--I don't know why, but I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine.
---
Lunch break at school. After finishing our meal, I take the casual chatter time to ask what kind of boy Yukari likes.
Yukari blushes furiously, hands patting her burning cheeks non-stop, with a charming look of panicked embarrassment. In the end, she gives in to my relentless interrogation and quietly says her answer.
"...Kasoku."
I almost fall over on the spot.
At the same time, a series of clangs and crashes sound from behind us. Turning around, I find Tenjou gripping her table and falling to the floor with it.
Why is Tenjou here even though she's in a different class?
Noticing my questioning gaze, Tenjou immediately gets up from the floor, hefts up her table, dusts off her uniform, and then walks out of the classroom without a second glance.
The Kasoku who Yukari speaks of is Kasoku Tomonori, a boy in our class.
Simply put, it's an actually existing person, even within an arm's reach.
It's a rather surprising answer.
Since she sees people as robots, it would be reasonable to say that Yukari would like the sort of cool-looking protagonist mecha you get in anime, just like how girls tend to admire the male lead of a soap opera.
But "Kasoku"?
That gloomy-looking guy without a single shred of noteworthiness?
His personality - I'm not too clear on it, my impression is just that he has super-squinty eyes. In other words, this ordinary person with no defining features or personality to speak of has actually managed to capture Yukari's fair maiden heart? Good lord, just what manner of trickery did he use to deceive my childlike, innocent Yukari? Or is it that in Yukari's eyes, he's a cool-looking robot?
When people run into situations that are hard to understand, it seems like they really do lose all their strength. Right there, I collapse onto my chair, hands limply plonked onto the desk, and ask for confirmation in a trembling voice.
"...Ka, Kasoku? The Kasoku in our class? What's so good about that completely unnoticeable guy?"
Cheeks flushed red, Yukari hesitates for a moment before answering.
"...There's this saying that 'diamonds are the romance of a real man'... Actually, it's not just men, they're my romance too." (TL: I'm really sorry about the phrasing here. It wasn't like this when I found it.)
"...What?"
"Kasoku's design may be realist, but there's an impressive diamond on his body, all big and shiny, and it's absolutely stunning. Although it's dormant right now, once it starts to operate, it'll definitely give off an irresistible charm."
I turned to glare at Kasoku as he munched on his lunch, but of course I didn't see anything that looked like a diamond.
"...I don't really get it, but isn't it kind of dangerous this way? Diamonds are instruments of murder!"
"Uwaah, that's a huge misunderstanding. A diamond is just a cutting tool, and also... It's a type of romance."
...What does this have to do with romance?
Lightly patting her burning-red cheeks, Yukari continues:
"There are other people in our class who have diamonds on them, but it's still Kasoku's diamond that's the most impressive. It's a real pity about the student council president, for example-"
"The student council president has a diamond too? She's a girl, so a man's romance?"
"Her diamond is the opposite of Kasoku's, it's constantly running. But its spin rate is too high, so it looks like it isn't moving. It looks like a really stylish blade of ice, so whenever I'm face-to-face with her I always get extra-nervous."
"...Then how about me? Do I have a diamond?"
Asking about my own build is actually taboo, but it just slipped out of my mouth when I wasn't paying attention, and Yukari, heart pounding, replies just as straightforwardly:
"Gaku, you don't have a diamond, but you're the strongest general-purpose type of robot."
"G, general-purpose?"
"Mhm. You have an advanced modification system, Gaku, so if you just change your equipment, you'll be able to deal with land, sea, air, or even vacuum or magma or other conditions, and you'll be able to demonstrate great fighting power whether it's in hand-to-hand combat or in long-range strikes. This kind of situation-adaptation system is an invention of the ages... Uwaah, you can't ask stuff like this!"
"...Apologies."
Modification system, general-purposeness - even though it's mixed in with a bunch of technical terms I've never heard before, Yukari's description is still deeply etched into my heart.
It makes sense, this kind of robot would indeed match the defining features of my personality, so I'm inclined to accept it.
I keep thinking that Yukari seems to see a me who I know nothing about.
--Is this her "perspective"?
"...When you mentioned changing equipment, does that mean I can attach a diamond too?"
"Uwaah, Gaku, did you pick up the romance as well?"
"...I'm just asking."
--On a different note. I don't know why, but from that day onwards, Tenjou's attack range expanded from Yukari and I to include Kasoku as well.
Although this isn't really fair - never mind. Since Kasoku has such an impressive diamond, even without any assistance from Yukari and me, he should be able to deal with it himself.
---
--The day when the suspect for the "Tokyo Murder and Dismemberment Case" was captured.
Yukari's family is attending the parent-child camping event at their primary school and won't be back this evening, so I decide to spend the night at her place.
While there's nothing unusual about spending the night at a friend's home, my family runs a dojo, and Yukari's family includes her younger brother and sister who have a large age gap with us, neither of which is suited to inviting friends over for the night.
As her younger brother and sister aren't here today, we can finally sit back and enjoy our precious private time together, but Yukari has been restless since this morning.
The morning paper today reported that the suspect for the "Tokyo Murder and Dismemberment Case" had been arrested by the police, and the midday news paid a lot of attention to it as well.
At the time, Yukari stared fixedly at the scene in the news, not even answering when I spoke.
After the report ended, she immediately switched to a different channel, looking for the same news.
Once she determined that the news wouldn't be reported again, she then spread open the newspaper and stared straight at the photo of the suspect.
Seeing her serious expression, I could only suppress the curiosity in my heart and silently stay at her side.
In the end--
"...Sorry, excuse me for a moment."
After apologising, Yukari put on a determined expression and started dialing the phone.
She then went to the courtyard with the handset in hand, probably because she didn't want me to hear her.
I went ahead and laid down on the corridor, examining the robot model before me while pricking up my ears to listen in on the contents of Yukari's conversation.
"Hello... Yes, I'm Marii... So... Mhm, I looked over the news reports, but in my eyes, that person doesn't seem to be the criminal."
I immediately sat up straight, gazing at Yukari's back silhouette.
Yukari had already hung up. After noticing my gaze, a bitter smile of helplessness floated onto her face.
"I'm sorry, Gaku. We have guests this evening."
We didn't have to wait until the evening; they've arrived already, in the afternoon.
There are two guests in total, one a middle-aged man in a suit, the other a frazzled-looking young man.
They don't need to introduce themselves; you can tell at a glance that they're policemen.
The two of them look surprised when they see me, their faces simultaneously displaying a doubtful look. The young man carrying a briefcase stiffens his expression as though to scold me, but is stopped by the middle-aged man's glance.
Perhaps noticing their discontentment, Yukari instinctively pulls my elbow, as though trying to hide me behind her.
The middle-aged man speaks first:
"May we?"
Yukari jolts, letting go of my elbow. Without waiting for her answer, I immediately hook her arm with mine, showing that I have no plans to leave.
After a moment's consideration, the middle-aged man nods.
He stands at the front of the corridor, as though he doesn't plan to enter the house.
"...Then let's begin. Marii, sorry to bother you."
At the middle-aged man's signal, the young man takes an envelope out of the briefcase and hands it to Yukari.
Just then, the middle-aged man looks me over and says:
"...It may be better if you don't look."
Several blood-red photos were taken out of the envelope.
--The crimson of fresh blood, the scarlet of severed muscle.
--The viscous, the dilute, the sanguine spread over chunks of flesh of warped colours--
With just a glance, it is imprinted into my mind.
--Photos of the scenes of the murders.
It must be the case photos of the "Tokyo Murder and Dismemberment Case". Not special effects, not a practical joke, but honest-to-goodness murder scenes.
I hurriedly turn my head, my vision suddenly going black as my old anaemia kicks in again.
The star of salvation that stops me from falling into the darkness just in time, just happens to be Yukari's warmth.
Yukari tightly grips my hand, gazing at the photos in her hand.
Although her body trembles slightly, her purple eyes don't even blink.
So I take a deep breath and steady myself. Even if I flinch away from looking at those photos, I have to at least act as a good pillar of support.
After who knows how long...
"...Okay."
Yukari breaks the silence, and the young man immediately puts the photos away.
"Next is this."
After saying this, the young man hands her a file folder.
I can't help but shudder internally, afraid that it would be yet more gory photos, but luckily they're just ordinary headshots.
The folder contains the photos of five people, kind of like the portrait photos you get on CVs.
They include a middle-aged woman, a middle-to-old-aged man, and a girl wearing a sailor uniform, with no apparent relation between them all.
The photos appear to be printed. Aside from the photos, the names, addresses, and other personal details have been blacked out.
Each page also includes photos taken from other angles.
After meticulously examining them, Yukari points at one of the photos.
"...It's this person."
The young man seems surprised.
"...This, this one?"
The person in the photograph looks like a minor, wears a sailor uniform, and is probably only a high school student.
The middle-aged man shows no particular emotion, but the young man looks skeptical.
Ignoring the young man's suspicions, Yukari emphasises once again:
"...Yes, it should be her. This 'method of destruction' is impossible to any of the five apart from her."
Probably thinking that she's being overconfident, Yukari hurriedly shakes her head.
"Th, this is only my perspective, so it isn't necessarily-"
"I understand. Your opinion is for reference only, so no matter what the result is, there is no need to be concerned... I'm truly sorry, you're just a child--"
"...Don't say that; I'm the one who called this time, after all."
---
Without even stepping into the house, the policemen bid us farewell.
Just then, Yukari's parents called from the parent-child camping event, so I walk the two of them out in her place.
The sun has already set, the veil of night hanging low over the outside.
Before slipping into the car parked at the main gate, the middle-aged man suddenly turns to face me and deliberately lowers his voice.
"...You know her...secret?"
"Mhm, I know."
The middle-aged man nods, lighting the cigarette he took from his breast pocket.
The flame looks an exceptionally bright red against the colours of the night.
He takes a drag, spits out a ring of smoke in mid-air, then stuffs the rest of the cigarette into a portable ashtray. After a moment of silence, the middle-aged man speaks again:
"This is her unique advantage and talent."
"...Mhm."
"I hope you can become her greatest pillar."
"You don't have to tell me, I'll do it anyway."
The middle-aged man nods, a self-deprecating smile appearing on his face, then steps into the car and leaves.
It is only after the tail lights vanish around the street corner that I head back to Yukari's house.
--A week later, the news that the suspect for the "Tokyo Murder and Dismemberment Case" had been released appears on the headlines.
---
To Yukari, the god-like ability to assemble models or repair household electronics is just a bonus.
That she sees living things as robots, is her true "talent".
This is a god-given gift, but at the same time a curse. There is no way to deny it, no way to refuse it; her joys and misfortunes are all built upon the premise of this "talent", and there is no choice but to simply accept it for what it is. To deny this "talent" is to deny the existence of "Marii Yukari".
That's why I refuse to deny it.
That's why I choose to accept it.
I absolutely will not deny those purple eyes of hers.
Sometimes I try to read things that are written in Japanese.
The thing is, I haven’t actually learned Japanese - so every time I try to read it, all I have to go by is the context, my knowledge of English and Chinese, the kana charts that I memorised years ago, and my many, many previous attempts at reading Japanese.
Most of the time, this works well enough to get the gist of things - and most of the time, the gist is all you need. Translation is not usually one of those times, but Stalker-chan is a phone game and the writing is generally very straightforward.
Even so, this project involved a great deal of typing things into Google Translate and piecing things together using the little Japanese grammar knowledge I’ve managed to pick up over the years. I’m quite confident in the accuracy of about half of the asterisked lines, and most of the other half is spoken by Akane (who, if you’ve been reading this translation without actually playing the game, is the same person as ??? in Chapter 7. I’m not completely sure about a lot of her non-asterisked lines. Her speech habits are weird.)
Stalker-chan might be the quickest translation project I’ve done, despite the fact that I don’t even speak Japanese. This was partly because it’s very short, partly because of the way it’s written, partly because it’s light-hearted but not completely bright and sunny, and partly because I knew I would only ever have the gist of things and thus didn’t agonise over the sentence structure or diction or tone or any adjustments in punctuation.
It’s been a fun change of pace, I think.
...Hopefully, despite my decision to make use of every excuse that allows me to sacrifice quality, it’s still reasonably readable and entertaining. Perhaps Mika could become our mascot for yandere-as-comedy, in the future - if I haven’t butchered all the jokes, that is.
(Thus concludes the perfectly normal and fluffy love story of the smartphone game, "ストーカーちゃんと秘密の部屋" - with a sequel hook!
Caveat: I don't really speak Japanese, so parts of this will be guesswork. These will be marked with an asterisk*.)
Epilogue
Kazu:
It's been a while~♪
Huh? Shingo... What happened to your hand?
Shingo:
It's just a little cut...
Nothing really
Kazu:
Hmm~mm
Ah~ Anyway I really want to see Mika-chan...
Haven't seen her around lately~
Shingo:
...
Kazu:
Ah! Oi, Shingo!
Look over there!
Shingo:
...?
Kazu:
That old lady, she shows up near the university sometimes~
She looks pretty strange...
Sometimes she stares right at us!
Maybe the old lady is a fan of yours, Shingo (haha)
Shingo:
...
Mysterious Old Lady:
...
Akane:
It's been a week since then...
Shingo-sama's injury isn't too big
I'm really glad...
At the time, Shingo-sama saved me by grabbing the kitchen knife
And I got away without a single wound
Shingo-sama... He was so cool...
But anyway, that woman!
I absolutely won't forgive her!!!
She hasn't come to university since then
Just what is she up to
Shingo-sama told me not to talk to anyone about this so
I've been silent but...
I'm worried she might strike again...
Mika:
...
Shingo-kun...
I wonder if your hand is okay...
Why in the world did you do something like that...
It's not like you and that woman
Were really going out with each other or anything...
Maybe the blood got to your head and you couldn't think straight*
Sigh...
...
But Shingo-kun, you're amazing after all
Putting yourself in the line of fire in such a dangerous situation
That isn't something just anyone can do!
...I'm even more in love with Shingo-kun now!
Also...
At that time, the words Shingo-kun whispered into my ear...
I'll never forget them!
Shingo-kun, I love you too!
[Flashback]
Mika:
Shingo-kun...
Don't stop me...
I'm just putting down an enemy of ours...
[Thump]
Akane:
(Dammit! My legs are tangled...)
Mika:
I'll end you!!!
[Slash!]
Shingo:
Ugh!!
Akane:
Shingo-sama... Blood...
He took the bullet for me...
NoooOooOO!!!
Mika:
Why...
[Rustle!]
Mika:
(Surprised)
Shingo:
"...Mika... You are the only one I like"
Mika:
(...!)
[End flashback]
[How is your wound?]
[It's fine... It's no big deal]
[It seems like nobody has noticed what you've been up to]
[Sigh... Yeah...
Anyway I brought your payment]
[What are you planning to do after this?]
[I'm done with this for now]*
[Is that so]
[Thanks for your hard work up till now
It's fine for you to take a break]
[Heh-heh-he...
Thank you very much]
[Alright...]
[After a dramatic fade-to-black, we see Shingo sitting at a computer in a dark room. (Does the scene on his monitor look familiar to you? It does to me.)
The screen dramatically pans up to the one and only time we see him smile.]

Chapter 10: Together with Stalker-chan
Shingo:
Akane-san
I'm sorry, did I make you wait?
Akane:
No!
I did not wait at all!
I decided to arrive early to check the area
In case of suspicious persons!
Shingo:
Is that so...
Then let's go
Akane:
Yeah♪
(Alone with Shingo-kun...)
(Everyone in the Honour Guard, I'm sorry for rushing ahead!)
Mika:
...
Shingo:
This should be all we needed to buy...
Akane:
Yeah!
We've found everything we needed!
Shingo:
I'm looking forward to the reunion party
Akane:
Yeah♪
(Ah... I'm so glad I'm in the same tutorial class as Shingo-sama...)
Muh! Murderous intent!?
[Shiiing!]
Akane:
Kuh... What's with you!
Shingo:
Akane-san!!
Mika:
Tch...
Akane:
(This girl...! From the Airsoft match!)
I see! I thought I'd seen you somewhere before
So you're Shingo-sama's stalker!
You're the worst! Trying to get me while I'm alone...!*
Mika:
I'm not a stalker...
I just want to get closer to Shingo-kun!
You're the worst for using Shingo-kun's kindness
Forcing him to go out with you like this!!!
[Shiiing!]
Akane:
(Crap... I'm unarmed, so my chances are bad...)
Mika:
Die! Die! Die!
Akane:
Kuh...!
Shingo:
Y, you! Stop! Put that kitchen knife away!
Mika:
Shingo-kun...
Don't stop me...
I'm just going to put down an enemy of ours...
[Thump]
Akane:
(Dammit! My legs are tangled...)
Mika:
I'll end you!!!
[Slash!]
Mika:
(I did it! This way there's nobody between us anymore)
(Right? Shingo-...)
Shingo:
Ugh!!
Akane:
Shingo-sama... Blood...
He took the bullet for me...

Chapter 9: Tragedy Suddenly Strikes
Mika:
(I wonder if Shingo-kun is okay)
(During yesterday's soccer trials
It seems like he hurt his leg)
(Since he's staying in the hospital it could be a major injury...)
(But if he drinks this homemade nutrition drink
I'm sure he'll be better in no time!)
(There's some love potion in it too so
Maybe he'll grow to like me too♪///)
(...!)
[I'm so worried about Shingo-sama...]
[Ahh...
I saw Akane head into his hospital room earlier]*
Mika:
(There's been lots of Honour Guard girls here for a while now...)
(Good thing I'm in disguise)
(I should haul them all out soon...)*
(He should be in one of the rooms around here)
(Ah! Here it is!)
(Hmm...?)
(There are voices coming from inside)
Akane:
Shingo-sama!
This is a get-well gift from all of us!
Shingo:
Akane-san... I can't accept this
It's not that bad an injury...
I'm only in the hospital
Because I thought I'd have my checkups while I was here...*
Akane: (TL: This is mistakenly marked as Shingo)
Even so, please eat this
And become even weller!
Shingo:
'Kay...
Mika:
(What's with that woman...!)
(She's talking to Shingo-kun in such a familiar way...)
Shingo:
I am happy that you have always been around to protect me but
I don't want to do anything to make all of you worry...*
You shouldn't be trying to protect me by force...*
Akane:
What are you saying!
Isn't it most dangerous when you let your guard down!?
For example there's a stalker
She still seems to be hanging around you, Shingo-sama
We've been handling it for you so
You don't have to worry about it!*
Shingo:
Yeah... But even so...
Akane:
But before that, Shingo-sama!
The thing we talked about earlier...
Shingo:
Huh... Ah, yeah...
It's fine with me...
Akane:
R, really!?
I'm very happy!!!
So is this Sunday okay for you!?
Shingo:
It's fine
Akane:
I did it! I did it!
This makes it a date... Right?///
Shingo:
Eh? I don't think so...
Akane:
What do I do!! My first date with Shingo-sama...
I'm so excited I can't wait...!!*
Mika:
(Huh... She called it a date...)
(Is Shingo-kun going out with her?)
(Lies lies lies! That can't be)
(There's no way Shingo-kun would betray me...)
(There's no way there's no way there's no way)
(There's no way there's no way there's no way)
(Could it be...)
(Using Shingo-kun's kindness...
That woman is forcing him into going out with her)

Chapter 8: Don't Think I'll Let You Get Away
Mika:
Hmmhmmhmmmm♪
Mysterious Old Lady:
Young lady
Mika:
Wha!?
You surprised me~!
Don't just suddenly start talking like that!
Mysterious Old Lady:
Heh-heh-he... Forgive me
In any event...
So you like to cosplay
I didn't know you had such a hobby
Mika:
It's not actually my hobby
I'm disguising myself as a high school girl
So I can tail Shingo-kun!
Don't say things that might make people judge me!*
Mysterious Old Lady:
So that is the case... Forgive me
(Isn't that more likely to make people judge you)*
Mika:
Al~right! Carry on carry on♪
Hmph...!
A high school girl is hitting on Shingo-kun!
Ah, but it's Shingo-kun after all!
He lightly turned her down!
Oh! This time it's an office lady
Unnaturally bending down to show him her cleavage!
But of course Shingo-kun didn't even notice!
That must sting!
Mysterious Old Lady:
(She seems to be enjoying herself...)
Mika:
Alright!
Mysterious Old Lady:
Oh? Are you done for today?
Mika:
No way! What are you saying
It's just that those women who were tempting Shingo-kun just now
I'm going to tie them up, that's all*
Mysterious Old Lady:
Is that so...
(She's a terrifying person after all)

Chapter 7: Weak Point Strike-Down
[Dadadadadadadada!!!]
Mika:
Phew...
Airsoft is the best stress relief, after all
All my attempts to approach Shingo-kun
Failed because of Kazu!
That guy is a serious obstacle!!
[Dadadadadadadada!!!]
Mika:
Hmm...?
Seems like there's a strong player here.
But they're naive!
[Dadadadadadadada!!!]
???:
Hoh... You're good
But if you thought I'd be taken down
By an attack like that... Watch!
[Bam!]
Mika:
Ugh...
Wha!?
I can't have lost...
Come on~! This is so annoying!!!
???:
I got her...
That was some lively prey*
But to me this is just the norm*
I've been playing Airsoft for 6 years...
"Weak Point Master"
That's what they call the one you stand before!*
But anyway, that guy just now
I think I've seen them somewhere before...*

Mika:
Welcome~
Mysterious Old Lady:
One pork bun
Mika:
Huh!? It's you!
Mysterious Old Lady:
Oh...?
I was wondering who it was, and it was you, young lady
It is quite a surprise to meet you in a place like this
Mika:
No, I'm the one who's surprised
I didn't think that someone like you would eat pork buns!
You'd eat lizards
And drink strange fluids, I thought!
Mysterious Old Lady:
What kind of creature did you imagine me as...
But enough of that, are you working here now?
Mika:
Yeah, I am
Since about 3 weeks ago
The number of times Shingo-kun has bought things here has increased
It's 1.7 times the number last month
So a few days ago I decided to get a job here
Although Shingo-kun hasn't come by yet...
Mysterious Old Lady:
I see...
It must be troubling you, young lady
(No, it's more troubling for him...)
Mika:
Uh-uh!
That's not what I meant!*
I'm getting closer to Shingo-kun, even if it's only a little!*
Here! Thank you for waiting for your pork bun!
Mysterious Old Lady:
Heh-heh-he...
Thank you very much
For your love to bear fruit, young lady
I will aid you from the shadows...
Mika:
Yeah! Thank you
You're a better person than you look like!*
I was going to report you as a suspicious person when you ran out of usefulness
But now I won't!
Mysterious Old Lady:
So you were thinking of doing something like that...

Kazu:
Another haunted house~
Honestly! Can't help it then~
Mika:
(He's here again!)
(This time I'll have a chance to grab him!)
(Kazu seems to be on pins and needles)*
Shingo:
Kazu, are you okay?
Kazu:
Y, yeah! I'm not scared at all...!
Let's... Let's hurry up and get out of here!
Shingo:
Mhm
They've done a pretty good job here... though
Kazu:
Ah, yeah... They have
Mika:
(Now!!!)
Ugaaaaahhhh!!!
(Shingo-kun I love you!)
Shingo:
...! Watch out!
Kazu:
Eh?
[Clunk-clunk-clunk-clunk-crash!]
Mika:
(Owwwwww...)
(I screwed up when I jumped out...)*
(Ah... But I got a hold of Shingo-kun♪)
(He's warm... So happy...)
Shingo:
Are you two okay?
Mika:
Eh?
Kazu:
I'm okay...
You... Aren't hurt, are you?
(So soft...)
Mika:
!!!
(D, dammit!)
(It had to be him of all people!!!)
(I got careless for one moment...)
Ah... Ex, excuse me...
Shingo:
That was surprising
Kazu:
Mhm...
(That girl just now, she was so cute)

Chapter 3: Waiting for You in the Haunted House
Mika:
It's the school festival today!
My research shows that Shingo-kun likes haunted houses
And other scary things like that!
Fufufu...
I'll draw him into this haunted house
And embrace him under the guise of scaring him!*
Ah! Shingo-kun is here!
Shingo:
...!
This is... A haunted house...!
Kazu:
What's this, Shingo!
You want to go into the haunted house?
I'm sure it won't be scary at all!
It'll be a waste of money!*
Let's go catch some goldfish instead!
Come on, hurry~!

[Ding-dong!]
Mika:
Welcome~
Shingo:
...
Mika:
(Kya!)
(Shingo-kun!!!)
(What do I do! He's finally here!)
(It's been a month since I started working here
At the teahouse Shingo-kun frequents!)
(It was a long month...)
(For some reason he didn't show up earlier so it's been difficult but
The time has finally come!)
Uh, uhh, um...
Whawhawha, whawhat would you like to order...?
Shingo:
One coffee
Mika:
Co, co, coffee!!!
Would, would you like sugar...?
Shingo:
Make it black coffee
Mika:
Black coffee!?
Cer, certainly!!!
Shingo:
...?
Mika:
(I, I spoke to Shingo-kun! So happy...!)
(If we talk any more than this I think I'll faint!)
(So, Shingo-kun likes black coffee!)
(I'll make a note)
[Drrrring... Drrrring...]
Shingo:
Hello... Ah, Kazu
Eh? Right now...?
Right now I'm kind of...
It's that urgent?
Got it
Excuse me... Waitress
Mika:
Y, yes!
Shingo:
Something urgent came up...
Could you cancel the order I placed just now?
Mika:
Thathatha, that would be fine!!!
P, please! Come again! Whenever you like!!
Shingo:
Thank you very much
Mika:
Kuh...!
I had a chance to give him some coffee spiked with love potion, too...!
Kazu...

Chapter 1: The Chamber of Secrets
Mika:
Ah... Shingo-kun...
You're so cool today, too
(My name is Mika
I have a boy who I love so, so much!)
Shingo:
...
Mika:
(He's Shingo-kun!)
(He's a boy from the same university as me but
He's really smart and he's good at all the sports
He's popular enough to have a fanclub...)
(I want to become close to him but
I don't have the courage to raise my voice so I can only keep watching him from the shadows)
(I phone his house evey day
And I get a chance to talk to him after the call connects but
I can't do that very well at all)*
(I really want to be friendlier with him...)
Shingo:
...!
[Kyaa!! Shingo-sama~!!!]
Mika:
Hmph... They showed up! Those shitty bitches!
(Those things are the girls in Shingo-kun's fanclub)
(Around here we call them the "Honour Guard")
(Shingo-kun is super popular in this university
He's often surrounded by girls)
Poor sweet Shingo-kun...
You must be so troubled...
I want to help you, but the way I am right now I can't
After all...
If I... make eye contact with Shingo-kun I think I'll stop breathing!
I'm sorry... I'll tie them up one by one for you later*
Ah... What can I do to get closer to you
???:
Young lady over there
Could you be interested in that young master?
Mika:
Kya!
???:
Heh-heh-he...
Do forgive me for startling you...
Mika:
Who... are you?
Mysterious Old Lady:
I am but a street vendor
Although my wares are a little unusual...
Mika:
Unusual...?
Mysterious Old Lady:
For instance... things like this
Mysterious Old Lady:
Heh-heh-he...
That is a secret
What my customer wishes for
I sell, that is all...
Mika:
(It's odd)
(But this is really Shingo-kun's lunch box!
I would know!)
Old lady! I want to buy that!
Mysterious Old Lady:
Yes... Of course...
The price is 10 thousand coins
Mika:
So expensive!!!
Why is it so expensive!?
Mysterious Old Lady:
It is not an item that is easy to procure...
Mika:
Urgh... Can't help it then
Mysterious Old Lady:
Thank you very much for your patronage
Mika:
Ah... Shingo-kun's lunch box...
Sniff sniff...
Such a wonderful smell!!
Mysterious Old Lady:
If you like it then that is the most imporant thing of all
If there's anything else that will make you happy
I will endeavour to obtain them...*
By all means, please continue your patronage...*
Mika:
Really!? Got it♪
I'll drop by again!!!
I definitely will!!!
That's why...
Don't sell them to anyone else, okay?
If you do, then...
I don't need to explain for you to understand, right? ^^
Mysterious Old Lady:
Yes...
I will wait warmly...
(This girl! She has such terrifying eyes!)
[After this, Mika goes back to her room - which is right across the street from Shingo-kun's - to find a girl from the Honour Guard trying to kick her out. This becomes a tutorial in which, if you poke the girl, she will magically disappear and our wonderful Stalker-chan's love will grow stronger - in a perfect demonstration of exactly how any normal relationship develops. This part isn't stored in the "Story" section, so I don't have the actual text to translate from - sorry about that.]
Stalker-chan and the Chamber of Secrets (ストーカーちゃんと秘密の部屋, Sutookaa-chan to Himitsu no Heya) is a smartphone game available for Android and iOS produced by SEEC and Braindrop.
You play as Mika, a shy university student who tries to catch the attention of a boy she likes very much while fending off all his fangirl in defense of her prime real estate (right across the street from Shingo-kun!)
During the course of the game, sections of story are unlocked in which you can follow Mika’s many, many misadventures. These are translated one by one below.
I decided to keep the weird Japanese-phone-novel-style writing conventions, instead of adjusting it to English conventions like I did with Murasakiiro no Qualia.
