Ive been loosely into Undertale since the demo first came out, teehee. so its abt time i have a blog like this.

after the winter newsletter dropped i saw a post about how the talk of contracts could imply that all of tenna’s ex-employees re-hired themselves once they all moved to castle town which was really really really funny to me. they don’t know what to do without their weird guy!!!!!!

a relationship between these two would be hysterical actually. they're both doing excessive cartoony flirting with one another but this ultimately results in them both going "tee-hee!" and batting their eyes(?) at one another coyly for hours on end. absolute shmoopfest.

jongler from deltarune has sensory processing disorder.

- feeling uncomfortable in their clothes

- mishearing phrases several times to the point that their friend gets frustrated,

- flavor text says they consider "manipulating the volume" maybe to make it louder so they can hear better or to make it softer so it isn't overstimulating?

- one of the acts you can use in a zapper fight turns on subtitles which is something often used by ppl with auditory processing disorder

does this make sense

The inability of a certain subset of blockheaded fans to notice Kris's gender is so. This is a game which places a nonbinary protagonist in a narrative that has them struggling explicitly with how much control they are allowed to have over their own life, whose best friends are a girl who is gleefully unfeminine and a boy who has no idea who he's supposed to be but sure seems to like being pretty, after the first few seconds of the game consisted of us trying to create our own form and then being told point blank "no one can choose who they in this world," where the above three children are all being railroaded into and struggling to escape their roles in a religiously per-ordained questline that we know ends very badly for them. If you think gender is not being employed here in a way that is specific, intentional, and thematically relevant then you are not serious

Deltarune fans will make 2 hours of analysis for why the notes in a song that plays for 3 seconds while Susie and Kris eat moss off the ground are an indication of presence for one Wine and Dine Gaster but if you say "I think Kris has a really fucking awful and constricting home life with a neglectful and tradition inclined mother and they seek comfort in femininity that has been consistently denied to them, mostly in model with an older acquaintance who they remember fondly enough to incorporate her general demeanor and aesthetic" people will go "so true #gnc #ftm #fuckterfs"

i may have said this before but my completely baseless undertale headcanon is that the stripes on childrens clothes represent each childs placement within their family, with the youngest getting one stripe, second youngest getting two stripes, etc.

and then its like, youre supposed to pass the clothing down to the next child yk? so like if youre an only child you get one stripe, but then oops you have a sibling now, so the sibling gets your old clothes, as they are now the youngest, and you get new clothes with Two stripes instead.

and then theres fun room for character exploration here!!

so we see in the true pacifist ending that asriel had one stripe on his shirt when he met chara, but his overworld sprite has two, but chara has consistently one stripe-in my head this represents that the dreemurrs fully embraced chara as one of their own, and maintained the tradition of handing clothes down to the youngest. i actually think chara is slightly older than asriel, so in this case youngest might just mean "newest to the family".

and then like, flowey/asriel pretty obviously has this resentment to toriel because he thinks hes being replaced, and i like to think thats why his stripes are so inconsistent! its a sort of jab at how he doesnt know how many siblings he technically has, since toriel keeps picking up stray children.

and then if we switch over to deltarune, ive always liked the thought that kris being the only one in their class still wearing stripes is meant to represent their reluctence to let go of childhood. (i first saw this theory in 2018 and it has been only strengthened with each new chapter) and i think its fun to think, as well, that kris would actually have to get new clothes for this! kris obviously came into the family VERY young, and asriel is only a few years older, so by the time asriel would wear kris' current size hed already be wearing two stripes, meaning that kris would have to go out of their way to get clothes with one stripe, theyd have to put Effort into clinging to childhood.

Stray is a shadowguy who's extremely good at shapeshifting and pretending to be various shadow shapes. It's not supposed to be here and invited itself in when given the opportunity, and has signed no contracts. :3

chroma! chroma is a swatchling who's full of love for life and lightners and how creative they are. easily distracted, she's constantly changing colors because she's always thinking about something new ... Any color is natural to her, and she loves breaking the mold.

she's not scared of maice, and likes them quite a lot!

spinner! spinner is an Addison who was infected by a virovirokun and is now successfully malicious advertisement. They self advertise a lot and are extremely friendly - easily distractable, confused, and excited.
