     Slowly and steady his hand moved. However, he stopped once the prince spoke again, “ For about a few weeks. I would defiantly lay back a bit, otherwise, you will need to take a longer break than necessary. I understand you must be busy with being the prince. ” he said with a tilt of his head.

     Ulaz went quiet for awhile as he continued to stitch up his wound. His amber hues looked at the prince for a long second, “ If I may be so bold to say, you are quite different from your father. ”

A few weeks... Damn and blast. That was incredibly annoying.

“Yes, I am quite busy. This is going to be a rather large setback,” he said, frowning. He sighed after a moment, deciding to ignore the problems for now. One step at a time, and right now, that step was getting stitched up.

“You may be. I appreciate that sentiment, perhaps more than you know,” he finally murmured in response.

11. — heartbeat

oh, I hope you were prepared for an angst-fest.

Lotor drifted in the field long after Voltron abandoned him. 

No more rations were left.

No holes opened up to let him escape.

No way out.

One way out.

The only sound he could hear anymore was his heartbeat, which was loud and frantic at his sudden thoughts about dying. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t faced it before. He’d just never expected the process to take so long.

His heartbeat thundered in his ears and he sighed, laying out on the cot. It was more comfortable than the chair, at least. Shutting his eyes, he focused on his heartbeat again, though now it seemed slow, soft, and sluggish. Sputtering. He strained to hear it, even as he tried to sleep, too terrified of the prospect of actually dying like this to just let go so easily.

But eventually, he stopped hearing his heartbeat.

His eyes opened and he was no longer surrounded by the vastness of the field, but... in some kind of hospital. In shock, but grateful, he fell back asleep, his heartbeat strong once more, pounding beautifully in his ears, an ancient tune of life.

Matt chuckles at Lotor’s reply. I’m not much of an artist either, I’m afraid. I have a friend who’s an art major though. Although asking him to draw for me feels a bit like cheating.

Lotor’s question catches him by surprise and he had to read it twice to make sure he read it right.

Montgomery is the only one that uses it. A poor soul just bought it last minute from the bookstore. God the books are so overpriced. There’s a reason why I work here but don’t shop here LOL

Lotor snickers to himself, smiling fondly at the words.

Damn. I suppose that means you’re not in his class, then. :( Wait, you work there? The bookshop? Are you there now? When do you get off? I can be down in half an hour/ Oh my goodness I cannot believe

Abruptly, he runs out of space to write and scowls, scrubbing his arm clean as soon as he feels the tingles of Matt’s writing anew, indicating his words had been read.
