I did a cover of Reflection by B&C. It’s my favorite off of TTWTWM.
The beginning evokes beauty, resilience and relatabilty I really relate to. I can close my eyes every time I listen and feel my spine and back of my head tingle as I think about how the hand life has dealt me made me who I am today, strength born from hardship that type of thing. I hear the how my generation feels lost between the intricacies of our insecurities, inability to communicate despite social media, trouble following through, and depression due to being promised the best growing up, but climbing over that adolescent peak to find so much hurt (I have no backbone/I hope you linger/Ran out of miracles/I cave in).
But it gives me hope because it lays these things out plainly, and advocates for burning the shells of who were or were conditioned to be. I found a lot of the things above to be true within myself, but this song really helped me to start to think about change. Shouts out to Balance and Composure for giving me just that starting with this song.
TL;DR: I did a cover of reflection, this song inspires me, I have emotional bullshit to say sometimes.
