That’s both an amazingly hilarious idea and an angsty awful one.
Because Mei is a Dragon. And we all know how bad Nezha’s past is. And I don’t think Itd be like dragonfruit but with lotus, since Redson is a lot different from Nezha.
Hi, so this is actually a really, really promising dynamic and here's why
So we know Mei is very fun and sometimes reckless, right? And Nezha is a more grounded, rule-follower type who's not AS reckless. (still a bit short-tempered, though)
Here's the thing: I think they would compliment and contrast each other very well, because Nezha could remind Mei to keep her cool if she's getting too hot-headed, and Mei in turn could help Nezha loosen up a little bit and have fun sometimes. They'd also bond over both of them having strict parents and fire powers. (Mei could also give them a silly duo name like "flower power" or something)
Also, they wouldn't be afraid to point out each other's flaws. Sure, that could definitely make them butt heads, but I think if it's done right, they could learn from each other and help each other grow. And then we'd have something really cool.
And yeah, the angst potential is there too but I'm mostly talking about the relationship in general
idk I'm just pulling this out of my boot. Actually I've been thinking about it for a fair bit, it's just hard to articulate my thoughts 🤷♀️
When I first saw him, I went "Oooh, pretty!" and immediately started obsessing over him (actually, other than the awesome animation and storyline, Ink MK was one of the main reasons I got into LMK)
Of course, after the hyperfixation started I started putting my own imaginary spin on the character
And now he's...this.

[which I don't have because I'm still working on his design, so like. just imagine monkey MK with long, wild hair and you have a pretty basic idea of what he looks like]
Nothing wrong with making an OC inspired by a preexisting character, right?* Except I named him and gave him his own powers and sketchy morals and a whole backstory…so obviously I needed to put him somewhere………Aaaand that's where the AU comes in!
I’m calling it the Harbinger’s Legacy AU
And here’s what this is:
It’s a canon-divergent AU taking place after Season 4, so it kind of replaces Season 5 (sorry s5) and adds Season 6
It expands on several plot aspects like MK’s monkey form and how the Scroll of Memory was really made
It also gives more backstory to certain characters, especially Nezha, as well as introducing characters like Guanyin and Erlang Shen (I know a bunch of you guys will like that)
As I said, it replaces s5, so the chaos crystals aren’t really a thing in this AU. HOWEVER, Nüwa is still important to the story, given how she created MK to be the Harbinger of Chaos
Aside from the main storyline, I also want to add a spin-off series within this AU featuring MK as the new Monkey King, as well as some original characters. This spin-off would take place roughly 300 years after the main story (which ties in to the “legacy” part in the AU name)
There’s also a rarepair involved. No I will not tell you which one
*To be clear, I’m not trying to claim Ink MK as my own character. Ink MK and my OC are two different characters, even though technically they’re meant to be the same person. I just gave him a backstory. Does that make sense? I’m not very good at explaining stuff…
What I mean is, in my AU, Ink MK used to be my OC. I plan on telling the story of how my character became the one we see in the show. .....and then some.
And that's pretty much it for now! I just wanted to get this out there, I don't know how many people will see it. But yeah, feel free to ask me any questions! I just don't know if I'll be able to answer them efficiently.
