-if you regularly feel exhausted and look pale during your period, taking iron pills and vitamin c is vital (especially if you’re vegetarian) (also you cannot absorb iron without vitamin c so invest in emergency c packets)
-regular multivitamins say they have 100% daily value of iron, but that is for a full grown adult not on their period. Get iron pills anywhere from 30 mg to 65 mg
-if you have depression that worsens before/during your period, ask your doctor about birth control that skips your period. It is safe and can save you from a lot of distress
-if your birth control makes your period longer than 8 days, tell your doctor immediately and switch pills. Not every pill works on every body and this can make you dangerously anemic
-bring tampons and pads with you everywhere even if you don’t anticipate getting your period
-you will get bloated and fart smelly farts and take ridiculously gross dumps and it’s gonna suck but if you keep hydrated, you’re gonna be fine it’s just part of the suckiness
-always make sure to keep your shower clean if you share it with others
-period sex is not evil or disgusting, just talk to your partner and put a towel down, or get creative with alternative sexual activity
-if you intend to exercise, choose tampons or use pads that have “wings”- panty liners may seem more comfortable but there’s nothing worse than it losing adhesion and riding up your ass
-invest in some dark colored pants and hold onto underwear you don’t care about to wear during your period
-it sounds weird but lubing a tampon applicator if necessary can actually help (just make sure to clean up after)
