Do you not LOVE it when you're so motivated for artfight, but that motivation disappears at the beginning of the second week along with the motivation to draw pretty much anything and you ended up spending most of your time doing nothing?
Only for that motivation to come back the literal last week? The problem? You got motivation to draw but you also got the procrastination to work on specifically artfight stuff. So you ended working on artfight 4 days before it ends and now the only drawings you may be able to post there on time are the only three ones that you started at the beginning of the month????? Although one of them you may not even finish it on time. (I did already posted one of them back on Wednesday, the second one I may be able to post it in an hour but I'll feel bad for doing so. Non of them are jsab related tho.)
Well then yeah. If any of you was wandering (with, probably no one) why I haven't updated any artfight related stuff, the fog took me for two weeks.
Now if you excuse me I have some drawings to work on and some serious changes to do to my life

Edit: just realized a thing I worded wrong- By an hour I actually meant that the least amount of time it could take was an hour, but it could take more. I, in fact, do not want to fuck up my back more then it already is. Breaks are mandatory in this scenario. (Just realized my way of typing sounds weird- meh- who cares)
I'm struggling rn man. My reference for Lycan is almost done, but I want to add Lycan and Blixer together to artfight but I'm having a problem...
I have only been able to properly draw my design for Blixer twice! And I'm out here struggling to make the sketch for the actual reference! Gurl your design is simple as hell why are you a pain to draw??????
Is the fact she got the privilege to have a body type (slightly) not based around my own 2"×4" looking ass self. (I'm purposely throwing myself out of my comfort zone with my own designs.)

I don't like having my characters just idle standing on their references, despite me having done that in the past, with it's why I'm trying to make another drawing for the reference. But the way things are going I may as well use that drawing there for the reference. If I rage quit that is.
In the meantime, imma go draw some (multiple) attacks at the same time and also finish Lycan's ref. (I may add it in artfight on it's own instead of with Blixers at this point.)

I got a handful of photos were my cat won't let me sketch freely (tho most of them are on my newer phone). Do I mind? Nah. Does it stops me from planning out what I'm going to do for artfight? Yes. Do I mind that? Also nah. I'm already WAY TOO behind on that so it doesn't matter that much anymore. I'm still participating tho. I'll just probably start later then most.
Also, could I just plan things out on my phone? Yes. But I find it easier to do so on my sketchbook. Cat laying down on it is part of the process.
Note: the drawing(s) that can be seen in the photo are not for artfight, but I plan to add those sillies (characters) there. Those drawings are there just to help solidify their designs.

Had to rage quit drawing at the dining table for the day because the smoke detector in our dining room when off for no reason and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Ma told me it would stop on its own and that it doesn't take that long.
...
Mom it has been an hour.
To this day I still don't know why companies that manufacture smoke detectors make them ESPECIALLY so that you CAN'T TURN THEM OFF IF THEY GET ACTIVATED BY MISTAKE! According to mom she already tried and couldn't. So that another fantastic thing to know about.
If it doesn't shut up by the next hour I will be even more tempted to smash it with a hammer.
My biff with smoke detectors has gone for quite some time and I don't believe it will disappear any time soon if this continues.
Decided to actually start writing down the concepts of the jsab au I been working on for the past life 7 months and...
I realized I actually suck at putting down my thoughts on paper 💀
Dude I already have like 5% of it completely planned why it is so difficult to actually write it down instead of keeping it in my head! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I tho, *checks notes* may or may not have gotten a tiny little bit too ambitious with the rendering.
*Checks notes again* And the amount of layers I could use without risking lagging.
(Damn does are really 150+ layers ._.)
But here it is! (Just noticed tumblr probably eat the quality 💀)
I was planning to use a more painting like style I got for this, but in the end decided to go for my classic style for rendering. (Yes, that is my sona, a remake of it that is.)
There's a version with text but I decided to use my actual handwriting and also wrote it in white so it looks out of place- I'm not posting that one-
But ye, I had fun making this! It was actually weird to see an actual finish piece of my own, especially in my classic style! This drawing looks so out of place in the sea of sketches and unfinished stuff ngl. XD
But either way, that's all I got to say, everything I could have I already said them in this post anyway, but again, I'm ready grateful for jsab and the artists in this community. Thank you for (even if unintentionally) helping me get back in the right path of art. ^^
Note from today, this entire post was written yesterday and it meant to have a drawing with it, unfortunately I got drop kicked by tiredness halfway through and didn't woke up till some hours ago 💀

I thought for a couple of hours if I should say/do something, and I decided that I should at least say a couple of things first.
A warning before you continue, I'm bad with words, so I may jump from topic to topic, and also, this is going to be quite long, the reason is the same as before, I'm bad with words. I apologize for that ^^'
First of all. Happy 8th anniversary to Just Shapes and Beats!!!!
(figured post was too long and felt awkward about it, rest is under the cut)
I'm relatively new to this community, having joined last November/late October, despite having learned about it's existence for quite the years. (Unfortunately, my English was not the greatest back in the day. I wasn't catching up to the fact that "Just Shapes and Beats" was the actual name of the game instead of random words put together XD)
But despite my short time in here, I have been able to find really cool things, including amazing artists! I have been able to find so many cool art and AUs and so much more, enough that it helped me find ground in my artistic journey!
Before finding this game, I was all over the place with my art. This past two years especially, I have been jumping from fandom to fandom without really staying in one, and going back to old ones wouldn't last for long. I was unable to tell if I was improving, or getting stuck on something. Every attempt to make an illustration was left unfinished and forgotten. And those that were finished I would be too afraid to show to anyone. Getting into this game helped me discover what I was missing in my art and I have been able to get better at it ever since! At least with traditional art that is!
Unfortunately, I have the bad habit of being kind of a lurker, never interacting with the community (except for the 2/3 exceptions) and preferring to just observe. With means that no one but irl people have been able to see this improvement.
Every drawing, every sketch, has stayed in the shadows for the longest time.
I am making this post not just to show my gratitude to jsab, but as a personal, oficial introduction to this beautiful community. This game has helped me feel better about my art, and grow enough confidence to show more of my art to the world. I'll try my best to step out of the shadows, but I can't promise it'll be right away. Gotta start with little steps ya know?
With that being said,
To the creators of jsab, Berzerk Studio, to every artist, writer and to every member of this community, I'll be forever grateful. Thank you.
