what if i told you there was one user on the russian social network/ video sharing website odnoklassniki/oднокла́ссники that has uploaded nearly every movie ever from 1896 to the current day, mostly with subtitles. and including that has uploaded every criterion collection film in full hd with subtitles. for free. all hail ok.ru user fleurinna guta

they keep their films in unlisted folders so you cant just see them all on their profile unfortunately but ill provide links. also don't ask me why this user separates their films in this way, i don't know and frankly it confuses me too.

If you've ever had someone wave you away from seeing Blazing Saddles because some characters use one of the worst racial slurs ever, keep these points in mind: - The director, Mel Brooks, asked Richard Pryor about the use of this word. Pryor, the single greatest Black stand-up comic ever and perhaps the single greatest USAmerican stand-up comic ever (he was fucking brilliant and hilarious) said that as long as bad people used the word in the movie, it would be okay. Don't have the good guys use it. Maybe that advice has aged well; maybe not. - The hero is Black; the sidekick is white. That reverses a common trope. - The Black hero defeats all the shitty white people by the end and gets some apologies and praise from them. The hostage scene is THE BEST. - Bart and Jim really are friends. Cleavon Little is cool and funny, and Gene Wilder is understated and funny. Check out how they handle two Klansmen. It makes me laugh every time, and they win. - Madeline Kahn is a genius, as usual. - There are a couple of spots of homophobia. Those definitely haven't aged well, but they go by quickly, and there's an even quicker scene - just a couple of seconds - where the gay guy wins. - It was 1974. We've learned things since then. - Its overall tone is deeply anti-racist.

when i was at walgreens (at 3 in the morning which explains all of this) the cashier was talking to her coworker about how shed rather be a werewolf than a vampire because vampires are condemned to hell but werewolves arent and then she asked me what i thought and i said vampire because im already condemned to hell and she said in the nicest tone of voice “i dont think anybody is condemned to hell….” paused, stared at me for a few moments, and added on “…not even gay people”
