ANIMATION TEST FOR A VERY SPECIAL SHORT ANIMATION
this is a prototype animation of one of the scenes of my upcoming animation.
There's a lot to say about the animation, not too much about the plot , because i dont wanna spoil the surprise!
it will be a mix of 3d and 2.5d elements done in krita i am discovering how powerful are layers on that software, and the smears, altrough not perfect do inspire me confidence, if refined and integrated in a proper way into the final animation.
But there's also a lot to say about the "why" of the project.
I've been meeting with a group of young adults with disabilities that are helping me test a workshop idea i've been brewing since i've studied social theatre in my university.
The idea is to make animations integrating and adapting the ideas from people with various grades of disabilities, using my skills to highlight brilliant ideas that come from a perspective often neglected by society: Often when it comes to workshops and activities for people with disabilities there's always a dumbing down of their abilities to create and imagine, all with a shroud of pity.
I dont accept that, as someone who's also on the spectrum, and as an artist that tries to see the world in all of his facets.
I will obviously credit all of the guys who are working with me, after all this is their project as much as it is mine.
If the final result is good, i wanna pitch this project to the associations in my local area( even if it comes down to do it as a volounteer).
it's not about being inclusive, it's not about "accepting" and "allowing" what is labled werid, lesser into the "correct" society.
it's about trying to do my, altrough miniscule, part into shaping what's all around me into a proper living place for the infinite variations of the human exprience.
