Underrated Keenler Moments from Season 2 [2/?] ➟2.08 - “The Decembrist”

Yes, Ressler is jealous of Tom (& vice versa because Tom’s boyfriend comment shows he’s miffed at the fact that Ressler’s her partner AND protector) and specifically the fact that Liz still loves him but it’s never more clear than in this moment. Liz tries to explain that she kept Tom alive and kept him as her prisoner in order to get valuable information from him- that it’s like the way they use Red, but Ressler sees through her facade and calls her out on it. Basically Red and Ressler are the only ones who know about her Tom secret but the difference is Red knew all along whereas Ressler knows her well enough to call her bluff. What he says is factual but he’s also hurt by it- he can barely look at her when he says she’s still in love with Tom.

Keenler Week: Day 6 - Favorite Keenler quote

Hands down, my favorite quote is from 2x07 “The Scimitar.” It was the first time Liz had told Ressler what she meant to him- with just two words. I love this scene/quote because he was trying to make light of the situation with a sarcastic comment but she took it in the other direction with her seriousness when she looks him square in the eye and confirms that “it was.”
