Anton who's bursting at the seams with passion and intensity and love and curiosity and a deep weirdness behind that little face. [...] He was a lover of the avant-garde. He was a true explorer, you know, he was always pushing boundaries in his art, in his life and in his experiences. He sought out those kind of really charged moments.
The elegant and the crude and the carnal and the intellectual all just kind of folded into beauty. He didn't ever separate it. It was art. Art was life. Life was art.
He was an explorer, just interested in life. It was intense curiosity. Hindsight is everything. I don't know if it's because maybe he knew he didn't have long, but he was ferociously invested in life. He wanted to eat it up and gobble it up whether it was an art or photography, music, his relationship with his parents, his relationship with his closest friends, traveling, reading and writing. He dove in head first and I think [that mind-set] is a good reminder to be grateful and curious and get off your ass and explore.
- Chris Pine, 2019
I have this great picture of me on the boat. I'm falling asleep on Anton's lap. Anton is with his, like, sweatshirt, and I can tell he's like, "Goddamn." I've probably had been asleep for like an hour on his lap, but he doesn't want to move me. That's really cute. I got that one. - Chris Pine, 2019
There's nothing that can prepare you for something that happens that quickly to someone who's that young. Nothing like that seems like it should happen. Our group, if anything, is a group of friends and family and it was nice to have them around to process what had happened and to pay tribute to who Anton was and to remember him and to smile and to cry and to ride the waves of grief. Our film is a wonderful example of what made him special. You hear the term "light up the screen" and that's Anton. He's this bubbly, lovely, smiling - just a lovable man and so, I will miss him. - Chris Pine, 2016

The Cracker Ass Bubble Butt Story
1988 03 27 Denver
Transcript: You know before I went to Texas and did a play I weighed about 160 pounds and I hadn’t been on the stage in many years. And I went down there to do this play and I was in every scene in the play. And, this is true, I lost 30 pounds, 25 pounds, 30, around 30 I guess it was. Had to take all my clothes to a local tailor, have ‘em taken in. Never gained the weight back. But when I was doing the series, I was quite a bit huskier at that time. And Shatner was always with the barbells, he’d come in doing this, you know. And every day when I would get off I would go and take the make up off and you strip to the waist and wash to get all this stuff off. I’d come back through, he’d be sitting up in his little chair you know, and I’d flex and I’d walk by him every day. He got real sick- one day he says look cracker ass why don’t you knock that off? That’s alright I call him bubble butt.

In honour of the Ides of March, you can watch William Shatner playing Marc Anthony in the play "Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare
