Okay so admittedly I’m a sucker for telepathic bonds but do you ever think about all of the implications of the imzadi bond for Riker and Troi?

Like there’s the really angsty stuff- one of them is trapped, or held captive, or seriously injured, but they can still get a read on each other’s thoughts and feelings. We see this a little bit especially in the earlier seasons and it’s so good.

And then there’s just the day-to-day implications. Bringing each other food when they realize that the other one is hungry in the middle of their shift. Checking in with each other when a mission affects them more than they’re willing to show outwardly. Will finding a reason to order Deanna to a quieter part of the ship if the bridge is empathically overwhelming. Deanna occasionally noticing that Will is beyond exhausted and scheduling a routine psych evaluation just to give him some time to sleep. Stretching protocol just a little bit to make sure the other is okay, because what affects one of them affects them both. Protecting each other from letting their mental or physical health slide too much. Never having to sit up alone after a nightmare because the other one already knows they’re awake and feels the panic too.

Again clearly I’m a sucker for telepathy but it’s just too sweet ugh.
