Another week another cherik hell
holy shit guys....
wolverine literally won't allow himself to move on, that's kind of the whole point of the episode. he believes he can only be one thing. a weapon with metal claws who tears everything apart and nothing else. not a friend, not a lover, not someone who gets a happy ending. but morph challenges this mindset by being there and showing logan that he can move on, he can be more and even want more in life. they're giving logan a way out of the hell he's trapped himself in but logan is so stubborn and full of self-loathing that by the time he's willing to admit how much morph means to him, it will be too late
filled with joy over an undead gambit who’s gonna ripped out my heart and spit on it
Rogue & Gambit theory in X-men '97
We have confirmation that Apocalypse has upgraded the tech that he uses to transform mutants into his horsemen. As such, we can assume that his future horsemen will be much stronger than before.
Now, Archangel in ep 2 mentioned how it was Rogue's touch that saved him back when he was a horseman.
I wholeheartedly believe that Rogue will try to touch Gambit to save him too, but it doesn't work because he's a much more powerful horseman now.
What solidifies this for me is these two clips:
This is from Rogue's teaser in which she is taking her glove off. She usually only does this when she is about to use her powers:
This has been shown in various teasers, suggesting it's a significant scene for Rogue. Some people debate about her arm, but I believe it's her burnt skin, not blood:
In sum, I think that she ends up getting badly hurt after trying to touch Gambit to save him.
One last thing. This is what Beau DeMayo said when he was asked about them on Twitter a while back:
"My plans for Season 2 was to homage the Dark Phoenix Saga/Dark Angel Saga with Rogue and Gambit, with Rogue in Scott/Psylocke’s role and Gambit in Jean/Warren’s role."
In other words, it will be Rogue that ultimately brings him back, even though it will not be easy.
I'm genuinely so excited for them! I just really hope that Deathbit isn't a 2-episode arc and that's it😫
TW flashing lights
Some wips and fun doodles
If there are no edits of Rogue and Deathbit to Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac after 97’ Season 2 I’m gonna be upset
So who thinks 'The Dead Man's Hand' will give us some Deathbit/Gambit? I'm excited to see what season 2 has in store for us but really hoping we get some Rogue and Gambit crumbs.
Also curious is anyone can name all the hands? Had fun picking out the characters close to Remy.
Deathbit with grind-noise 🙏
So right now I'm thinking they cut out the background to avoid spoiling that Rogue is fighting Deathbit in this scene. She took her glove off to try to absorb the evil out of him like she did for Archangel in XTAS. But Apocalypse has accounted for her power this time, so Deathbit's touch burns her and that's why her arm is messed up.
Then Deathbit will say something like, "Looks like I can finally light you up, chere."
Horseman of Death by Tyler Lenaz
i know they all high fived when they thought of, storyboarded and animated this.
Death, ending and transformation as we see that the cards have changed from his playing cards to tarot. Death also HOLDING Gambit’s card and also his literal new moniker for this period.
The Tower, upheaval and chaos. The height of the xmen’s problems
The Lovers, love, harmony and alignment. It literally being Gambit and Rogue. But also resembling Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden with the Snake coiling them….choices and temptation. The skeleton they’re standing on? Remy now being touched by death, Genosha, their pasts and their issues beneath them.
There’s so much details in the cards, I’m so obsessed.
Finally, Deathbit's in the game👏
(Also, I am absolutely obsessed with the way his Queen of Hearts card transformed into a Lovers card picturing him and Rogue on it😭)
