Procrastination

There are some adages that I still can't quite grasp the real meaning of. 

Like this one: "To see where you're going, look where you've been."

Is it supposed to inspire you to go new places? Repeat the good that happened? Learn from your mistakes?  All of these? 

I just don't get it. But I want to. I want there to be a moment in my life where this pops into my head and I have one of those "a-ha!" moments. It hasn't happened yet, but I feel the building of its inevitability. 

It's coming, of this I am sure.  And when it does, I'll look back at this moment and see where precisely I'm going.
