Haven’t finished a piece of animation for a while completely. But here are the WIPS. Some of the actions seem to lack frames. This took me about a week, working on it on and off. Not the smoothest but happy for finally finishing something. Need to work on exaggeration. AND CLEAN LINE ART WITH NO GAPS WILL SAVE ME TIME. BIG TIME.
I figured that feedback I get from others shouldn't be taken lightly, especially since the ones I got are from people I really respect. Laziness got the better of me and I felt like I couldn’t be bothered going back to sketching more frames when I was already on the final stage of line. But then someone told me I’d be stupid not to USE THE CRITICISM, so I did reluctantly, knowing it will take me a few more days to finish it, but it made it into something way better than it was before. Because the first ones pacing was way off. Fresh eyes and thought’s are valuable.
So my drive for this animation kinda crumbled when i got to a stage where I couldn't fill the gaps between the frames because i didn't know where each leg and arm should be (study anatomy dammit lol). To that I say to future me, try to sketch it out on paper and see what works best while using references. Also felt like I was stagnating a bit because of how long i spent fixing up the timing when i should have finished all of that in the sketchy stage. But maybe that is a part of animation and you just gotta push through what feels like work that’s getting no where. And maybe it’s also a part of my mental state, making me feel like I have no where to go.
So the problem is more that I dint refine the sketchy stage enough to refer back to easily, coz the messy sketches doesn't show the actual movements, so then when i did clean the sketches, the lines didn't seem to form any flow. Polishing it made it look worse.
The speed at which i complete projects seem to correlate with how organised and well planned it is. It easier to aim and quicker to get to the point you want to be. And its easier to be motivated for it, it seems. Even with inktober, I’ve gotten to 4 days behind because I don’t want to start drawing since I don’t know what to draw. Someone showed me their process for inktober and had already thumb-nailed their 31 inktobers, just so they don’t have to waste time everyday coming up with ideas. THUMBNAILS ARE ALSO VALUABLE.
And i realized I need to plan something in life, because that’s what’s happening. I have no plan or goal to get to, so i can’t build any steps to them, which in turn results in the feeling of stagnation and lack of enthusiasm for the future.
Now. To figure out where I do want to go.

I am Lars on so many levels. I didn’t really think much of him, especially knowing people disliking him, but now I see too much of myself in him...
