anyways here’s rating various gordon freeman models smiles. powerpoint by me.

“romka” or male_04 Gordon Freeman. he was a headhack of a reskinned male_04 head and romka’s HEV suit, circa 2009-2010. fan-made. there are 3 examples here, though they all use the same base model (minus cartoony, technically, though he didnt even want to open his mouth. may not even be able to.) rating: 4/10 beta male smile

Gordon Freeman by DPFilms. gritty gordon freeman who looks 40, model dated circa 2012. fan-made. (this might be wrong but gorgeous freeman may be a reskin of this model.) i already don’t like him, he looks like sandpaper. rating: 1/10 can’t even open his mouth

Gordon Freeman Redux by Lenoax, aka grimace Gordon, circa 2018. fan-made. frat bro gordon. he’s decently hi res, and also decently orange. rating: 2/10 he is fucked up. he’s struggling.

Enhanced Survivor Gordon Freeman, a Gordon Freeman model from Half-Life 2: Survivor, a Japan-only arcade version of Half-Life 2. i have no idea how they even got a hold of this but it’s real, circa 2013. Technically official (and was the most official model and preferred by majority for a long time). rating: 5.5/10 his little chihuahua smile is endearing but still a little fucked up

Half Life: Alyx Gordon, aka the most official (and detailed) Gordon Freeman model yet, 2020. Official.  the source 1 faceposer didn’t agree with the source 2 facial flexes, so i had to make do. I tried to use the least amount of facial flexes while trying to stay true to the default grin setting parameters. rating: 6/10 looks human but still very “grin and bear it”. suffering post-graduate with nothing to live for (accurate to his character?)

so anyways. everyone loses. this man can’t smile. plus im like 90% sure OP’s photos where doctored in faceapp. hahstag callout post.
