8. round two- STATESIDE: DANIELA AVANZINI SMAU
synopsis: when the new premier overwatch league teams are announced, the newest team to be added; katseye find themselves up against some of the most competitive players in the world- including ones that'll flirt to win.

T1's office was quiet. Too quiet. Four of the six team members sat in silence, waiting for the last two to appear. Liz could feel the way Jude's brain was burning up at each thought he had. He sat on the couch opposite her, scrolling on twitter to only get more and more annoyed at each post.
"Where the fuck are those two?" He muttered, expecting the other three to just know the answer.
Jade and Liz's eyes darted over to Arlo in his armchair. They nervously sat up, "Uhhh, I think Y/N wanted to talk to Sam about something. I don't know she didn't really tell me anything." He wasn't wrong, either.
A few rooms away, Sam was in Y/N's arms- still crying. "This seasons a mess, Y/N. I don't get it. He was so more chill when-" Just as Sam was going to say a name, her friend cut her off.
"Don't. I know." Y/N said firmly. She knew ever since her ex left the team last season, Jude had gotten worse. Much worse. "It's okay, Sam, really. You did better than me today." It didn't help- Sam was still crying. "Look, he's not gonna be on your case for a couple days anyways,"
"Why? It's all he's been since we kicked off a couple months ago." She asked between sniffles.
Y/N gave her friend a face, as if to say What do you think? "What? You think he's gonna let me off easily after the shit I just pulled?"
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?" A few minutes has passed, and Y/N and Sam had joined the rest of their team in the main office. Jude was in the middle of a rant about how god awful his team apparently was. "WHEN HAVE WE EVER TRAINED TO BE LIKE THAT BEFORE?" No response. "WE HAVEN'T." He answered his own question. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" Jude asked, looking directly at Y/N.
"Not a lot, apparently." Liz muttered next to her, looking down at her lap in defeat.
Y/N glared over at her teammate before back up at the captain, "I'm sorry, I fucked up, I know-"
"OH THANK GOD THE WONDER PLAYER REALISED." Jude's voice echoed off all four walls, making Y/N sit back a little in shock. "You know, just because you're so high ranking, doesn't mean you get to take on an entire team by yourself?"
"I- I know that-" Y/N answered, in her best attempt to defend herself.
"Right, and so you also know that your entire kit in those final moments was up for use right? Instead of just shooting normally?" Jude cut her off, interrogating her more.
"Well, I don't really-" She can't even get her sentences out.
"I'm taking you off the team for the next few matches." He then said firmly. The room goes quiet. All eyes turn to Y/N as her face and heart dropped. "You need to train. This bullshit going on with Katseye is stupid. They're a bunch of streamers, Y/N. Grow the fuck up."
She rolled her eyes in her seat, getting bored of everything he was starting to say, "HEY." He shouted, snapping his fingers. She turned back to look at him with a glare, " 'YOU STILL WANNA BE IN THIS TEAM? HUH?"
He wasn't seriously. Surely not.
When he tilted his head waiting for a response, Y/N let out a shakier breath, "Yeah..." She murmured.
"Then get your ass into that training room." She didn't need to be told twice. Even if she was the highest ranking player in the world; she loved her team even with Jude in it.
She stood up from the couch and began her walk out of the room and towards the training room, "And by the way;" Jude spoke up again, causing Y/N to turn back and look at him, "You're not playing against Katseye until further notice. Every match we play I'm going in for you."
She wanted to argue. She wanted to fight back and tell him he was wrong for doubting her. But she had nothing. Y/N was broken.
