So like, what if Undertale was actually just a tale?

Like, in the Deltarune universe, imagine if all of Undertale was just a bedtime/camp fire story Asriel came up with to scare Kris when he was little?

Think about it:

It starts with a storybook introduction

The main character is a human (just like Kris) who's name is basically just an anagram of Kris (very sibling coded)

Toriel is the loving mother and a familiar first character to start with.

There are so many monsters in the Deltarune universe (for their sake, the *real* world) who are pretty much the same in Undertale but with exaggerations and such.

Their nerdy teacher is a royal scientist

The super strong police officer is a royal guard

Their parents were royalty!

Some of Kris and Asriel's friends were in it too whenever Asriel's like "And Catty was there too and she was friends with uhhhh, Bratty" and Kris is like "And what about Berdly" and Asriel's just like "No..."

And maybe it starts with Asriel telling the "genocide" as the horror story and he goes "and everyone DIED" but then he actually scares Kris and he's like "Oh shit pls don't tell Mom" and he's just like "How do I fix this" and he goes "Oh uhhh but then the human was like 'I am gonna go back in time to get everyone off the menu.' "

And so NOW he's like telling Kris that the human made friends with everyone instead and saved the day and then later when Kris is like "Y'know what? This story's kinda sucks" Asriel's like "Oh yeah? Well what if the human fought the God of HYPERDEATH?" and then Asriel gets to drop his OC in the story and he gets really into it and stuff.

Then the story ends with a happy ending and Kris is like woah that was so cool.

And Gaster is a ghost story too (such a sibling name for a ghost)

"I've got a ghost story about a ghost named... (shit, what's a good ghost name? AHA!) Ghasterrrr..."

*Tiny Kris* "Woah..."

I prolly missed some key lore that says some stuff about their universes or whatever but I just think this is kinda funny

How shall I refer to thee?

SO, it seems the American government has a lot of places that are purely self-interested:

Cities that give more water to industries during droughts and putting their people on a strict water-usage (wait, wasn't that kinda the plot of Rango?), excusing politicians for crimes that they'd crucify a civilian for, etc.

I needed a word for this, but totalitarian and dictatorship weren't exactly what I was looking for. We haven't quite crossed the boundaries of crimes against humanity and restrictive action yet. Abuse of power seems a bit light (I can't believe that's even a sentence) compared to Sauron or Darth Vader, yet still, this feels a bit dystopian.

So after some research I have coined a new term based off my rudimentary etymology knowledge:

EGOISTOCRACY: a government that runs primarily for self-interest. It's goals may be publicly stated as serving the people, but it's actions convey selfishness and dishonesty.

Favorite Part of Making Stories

One of my favorite parts of making stories is establishing a bit of background details or important points that come up later. For me, however, the kind of person that outlines a story out of order before coming back and adding details later, that comes in the form of retroactive continuity.

The story hasn't been written yet, so to everyone else, it's just continuity.

But that's the fun of writing something that makes something that happens later make sense, because then you go "OH! And that's why this character later on says that exact thing or behaves in this specific way!"

That is just so friggin fun to me.

People say that villains who show up at the very end aren't good villains, and while I think that's true sometimes, I think they're understating how important it is that when they DO show up, they make a very lasting impression.

Like if, for example, the protagonists are dealing with a threat that seems to be coming out of nowhere, they get into a rhythm of dealing with it and they know what to expect after a while.

Then, out of nowhere, someone explains that they were behind it all, and comes at them with something far bigger than they could have ever predicted.

In the best situations, they surprise you and the protagonists, while also using elements of things they already dealt with and solutions they've found that worked.

Of course, I am talking about Dr. Zomboss.

So like, what would they say to each other?

I really hope there's a scene in a comedy or parody movie where one character listens to a conversation between some other characters and it starts off as seeming like one of those tropes of thinking they are saying mean things, but then after you leave they turn it around, so the character listening is like

"Oh, well maybe I'm in that one trope and if I walk away now, I'll miss all the nice things they're about to say"

And they keep listening and the guys talking just double down and it just gets worse and worse, and the guy listening is just like 🥺

Fun fact: Intensive carrot has the ability to resurrect eaten plants at half health, assuming that this also works on humans (though not zombies), in the event of a nuclear fallout destroying all of humanity, the intensive carrot could be used to bring back the human population (although at half their health)!

Sun falls at a rate of 50/10 seconds in PVZ2, taking that with 3600 seconds per hour and 24 hours per day gives us 4320 Intensive carrots used per day, which equates to 4320 people. That means that in a single year, we can revive 1,576,800 human beings (again, at half health). Now, taking the human population into account at 8.73 billion people, all it would take to bring back all of humanity is 1,914,351 days! Which is 5241.21 years (counting leap year time). And immediately after, every single one of them will need to go to the doctor (because, their health is halved). : )

So I had this weird dream where in that scene where Caine glitches out after being told Zooble wants the ability to have sex (cool but just know that scissoring would likely cut a certain someone in half), while he glitches there is static next to him and in the static are the faces of all the people who had abstracted, including of course Kinger's wife and Jax's old pal and a few more I couldn't quite make out.

I hope this doesn't have any implications towards my sanity.

I have no problem with artistic interpretations of kaijus, giant monsters, horrifying abominations beyond human comprehension purely as a result of their size. HOWEVER, when we get to drawing our "eldritch" creatures with very comprehendable features and how it can very easily be comprehended by just looking at it, I kinda feel like we're missing the point.

In all practical theory, it *shouldn't* even be possible to artistically render it. But the idea "but what if I did anyway" is honestly too enticing to not try it anyway. And, let's be real, until people somehow manage to draw in another dimension entirely, nobody's getting close to what a true creature "beyond human comprehension" looks like. You have to comprehend it to make it.

So keep doing what you're doing. It's the literal best we can do.

Ain't it strange how sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between being hungry and your stomach being like:

"Well, you see, um, I actually need water. Like, to grow the food. The food is a sponge and I need water. The mouth is fine but I want water now. I feel empty but not because I hunger oh nonononnono. I want H20."

My favorite moment in all of Shantae and possibly all of gaming is in the fricken jammies mode of Half-Genie Hero, where she crashes Ammo Baron's airship and destroys his entire armada just to invite him to her slumber party.

And you know the craziest part? HE ACCEPTS!!

It's absolutely hilarious and it still gets me every time.

Can't wait for Chapter 7 where Kris pulls a Spy Kids 3 and enables Rudy like the Grandpa to allow him to walk and shit so he can talk some sense into the Roaring Knight.
