Set 900 years after an apocalyptic war between humans and vampires, the series focuses on the on-going cold war between the Vatican, the human government, and the “New Human Empire”, the government of the vampiric Methuselah. Fighting on the Vatican’s side is Abel Nightroad, a Crusnik - a vampire that feeds on vampires. The novels blend science fiction, fantasy, and political intrigue, with some in the Vatican and the Empire striving for peace, and the Rosenkreuz Order doing anything in its power to stop it.

Shahra is a strong woman who is very protective of those close to her and is more than willing to put herself before them. She is an extremely protective kind and loving woman, regardless of whether people are Methuselah or Terran.

Dietrich von Lohengrin | Terran | Marionettenspieler | OPEN CHARACTER

Dietrich likes to manipulate people to get to his goal and also to play with them. But Dietrich hates to be told what to do, getting into bad mood from that. Known and feared for his extreme sadism, Dietrich seems to view the world and people in it as his personal toys for use to relieve his constant boredom.

Jane Judith Jocelyn | Terran | The Duchess of Erin | OPEN CHARACTER 

Jane Judith Jocelyn, though known for her success and power, is far more infamous for her dislike of the church and her ongoing list of scandals. From adultery to homosexuality, promiscuity to drug use. She has even been married seven times and each time her husband died, rumoured to be poisoned by her.

Leon Garcia de Asturias | Terran | Dandelion | OPEN CHARACTER

Leon takes great offense at being called an old man, but despite his gruff exterior, Father Leon still shows signs of caring for others, particularly children. He carries a pendant with a picture of his daughter around his neck at all times, and loves her more than anything in the world.

Father Leon acts like a pervert around women and tends to be a rather hot-headed person.

Radu Barvon | Methuselah | Flammenschwert | OPEN CHARACTER

Towards Ion, Radu is kind, compassionate and much calmer and easygoing than Ion. Yet secretly holds much resentment towards his tovarish and The New Human Empire.  Though he serves the Rosenkreuz Orden, because of his guilt and hatred towards Dietrich von Lohengrin he seems to be reluctant to complete his missions.

Kate Scott | Terran | Captain of the Iron Maiden | OPEN CHARACTER

Sister Kate is the holographic captain of the AX battleship the Iron Maiden, and later the Iron Maiden II. Kate is also skilled in making herbal tea blends which are well loved by the AX agents and Cardinal Caterina. She is described as having a strong, no-nonsense personality.

Lilith Sahl | Crusnik | OPEN CHARACTER

Lilith is a caring person, caring for the humans more than for the Methusalah, having picked their side in the battle. Even during the war she loved her brothers very much and would always try and dissuade them from trying to kill off humans, or subjugate them to a life where they are nothing more than cattle. She loves people for their flaws.

Kaspar von Neumann | Terran/Methuselah | Hundert Gesicht | OPEN CHARACTER

He is the youngest of the von Neumann brothers. Though he has a very tough looking exterior, Kaspar thinks and refers himself as a woman: the little sister "her" brothers look after and who at times put in shame their good name. He is single-minded and vicious despite his natural intelligence and seemly good-natured personality. Like his brothers, he has a special power. He is a polymorph, and can change his appearance very well.

The Prince of Hispania and a top student of the University of Colonge, Antonio is a genius who received seven doctorates by the age of twenty-three. Although somewhat vain, he appears to be outwardly cheerful at all times, even in the midst of dangerous situations.

Her power is visual empathy, an ability that allows her discern the emotions of others and to clairvoyantly track where people have gone by their empathic residue. She has romantic feelings for Abel. She is also shown to have speed and strength beyond that of the average human

Monica Argento | Witch | Black Widow | OPEN CHARACTER

Monica Argento is the daughter of a mafia boss, but being a witch, her kind are naturally hated by both humans and vampires. She shows much sadism while fighting against her foes. Killing them without any mercy, not caring if they can fight back or not.

The middle von Neumann brothers, Melchior is a silent man with a "bent and twisted" personality. He spends a lot of time around Helga and she seems to be the only one aware of his powers.

Süleyman | Methuselah | Duke of Tigris | OPEN CHARACTER

The third highest ranking noble in the Empire, Duke of Tigris Süleyman has spent over 300 years of his life serving the Empress. Despite his hatred and disagreement with the desire for peace between humans and Methuselah, when he has a chance to take a shot at the Empress, he cannot bring himself to kill her and intentionally misses.
