I keep returning to the crime scene to see the unlucky victim as he lay on his back staring into the heavens blankeyed. Watching as spectators in need of a thrill gather round to witness something that will take them outside their boring everyday routine no matter how gruesome or inhumane it may be. He's been dead for days now and the stench coming from him is really strong as it fills the air. I stand away from the crowd, hidden in the cloak of darkness observing the expressions of the audience that have gathered to be a part of my masterpiece. All of a sudden I notice the anxiety in the air as people start to scream and free from the scene calling names of various gods. This isn't what I wanted. They are ruining everything. In a couple of minutes the scene is completely deserted but I still hear their voices as they try to find meaning to what they had just witnessed. At that moment I decide to break protocol. To look at my piece after it had been presented. Normally I'd much rather observe the audience but I had to know. Slowly I walk over to the lone figure on the floor illuminated only by the street light directly overhead. The spot was intentionally chosen to create a centre stage effect. As I stand over the body I notice nothing different. It's exactly as I left it. Tongue hanging out his his neck, his abdomen ripped open revealing his insides. There's no blood on the scene of course 'cause this wasn't where the art was created. Feeling all excited again as I remember using a fork to tear open his pot belly. The sweet sound of ripping flesh mixed with his screams muffled by blood as it clogged his throat. Of course he was tied up at the time but I unbound him and watched as he tried putting his intestines back in. Oh what a sight. Oh what a feeling. Beats having a million orgasms all at once. Suddenly it hit me. While I was basking in the euphoria of my accomplishment, it was like his eyes were actually watching me. I guess I must have had too much excitement for one day 'cause I was beginning to imagine things. I lean in closer studying the eyes to put my unease to rest and what I see nearly knocks me off balance...........blink.
