It is very interesting to me that the act of killing in Trigun is less about morality as it is about raw human selfishness. Either as a way of preservation of self or others.

That's why Vash never kills in any version of Trigun because it's the "right thing to do" but because he wants to preserves his loved ones. He always 'pick up the gun' selfishly.

Even his reasons as to not kill aren't fully anchored in morality. It has always been about preserving people he loved.

Trigun fic recs! Fanfic writers appreciation day

All vashwood because hyperfixiation… I tend to go for fics that are in-universe, with prose that has a nice flow. Attention to injury/medical detail is important to me.

This list has a lotta character studies, physical and emotional hurt/comfort, Wolfwood POV, some fix-its, some porn with plot and/or interesting plant biology, worldbuilding/lore, good conversations, silly banters, and absolutely no sad endings. Also, ace Vash is very real!

A personal note: I’ve only gotten into reading (and writing) fics this year and it works so well with my adhd. I used to read a lot of books as a kid but have since struggled with reading. I started with short fics under 3k and now I’m able to read multi chapters. I want to thank all the fic writers for bringing back the joy of consuming literature!
