She wasn’t exactly sure it was just the blanket, or if it really was him warming up. Quickly, she removed the blanket, and pressed her head onto R’s chest. Only then she could hear a faint thumping noise, but in a way…She just couldn’t believe it. Julie continued to listen, and eventually felt tears sting her eyes. It was happening right before her, but she couldn’t believe it.

Slowly, she moved back into her seat, trying to wipe any stray tears finding their way down her pale face. Why would she cry at a time like this? This was great! This was perfect! If anything, she shouldn’t be crying at all over this. The blonde smiled happily towards R as she continued to wipe away tears.

”You’re— You’re changing, R,”

"Ch-Ch-Changing?" He asked, the words almost falling out of his mouth. It was rather strange to be told, since he had already changed once before. Changing again sounded like he'd become a Boney...then he looked to her face and saw the big grin on her face and all the pieces fell into place. He was...becoming human! He was becoming a human! "I-I'm becoming a h-human!" He smiled, talking and smiling feeling much easier.

His body was beginning to feel warmer now, and his heartbeat was beginning to join Julie's. It was getting stronger and faster, to the point of where it sounded as though he had never died in the first place. It was weird, and slightly scary...but he wasn't complaining at all.

The other corpse had passed before his vision as Perry looked around, trying to find the source of the music that circled around his being. It enveloped his senses, stirred something within him, and though the breath wasn’t needed, he could almost feel himself letting out a sigh. Eyes closed for a moment to focus more on the music, only for the sound of the jet’s door to shut and force him to look towards the sound. The other was coming back and sitting in a seat across from him, looking to him and saying something before giving up. He needed to try and say something at some point instead of groaning.

It made him feel empty inside the dead body that he dragged around.

Eyes went to the other’s arm as it moved, pointing to the source of the music and causing Perry’s brows to raise slightly. So that’s where it was coming from. He stared at it for a moment before he looked back to the other, giving a slow nod before leaning back in the seat a bit. Yeah, that’s what had brought him here. He can at least communicate that towards the other. There was something about it that stirred in him, pulled him in and kept him in a state of mesmerized wonder.

R tapped lightly at his chin in thought, standing up and signalling Perry to follow him. Even if the male couldn't exactly speak like he could, the signals and hand signs were at least something he could talk to him with. Marcus and him had had to communicate like that at one point too, so he knew it worked. He slowly shuffled toward the vinyl player and sat himself down beside it, gently patting a spot next to him. It was rather strange to see this man not attacking him for once, since the last time he had been seen was lying on the floor with his brain missing.

He gave a light hum in response to the music, closing his eyes and listening to it as well. While it didn't have the same enticing noise that it did for Perry, R simply enjoyed the music for what it was. He thought for a moment, stopping the player and slowly pulling the record out. He quickly swapped it over to a different one, his favorite in fact, and started the player up again. He let a light smile appear on his face from hearing the familar face, crossing his legs and relaxing his stiff body.

She really wasn’t sure why she entirely asked that. Maybe she was just completely curious…Or she really couldn’t stand seeing the male being the only corpse alive. There were two options for the both of them, try and get R to become more human, or Julie could join him. Either way seemed terribly awful in there own ways. Julie still was one to lean towards him becoming human. It was what he wanted, wasn’t it?

”R— I— I’m sorry, I really shouldn’t have asked that,” Julie replied quickly, and curled up in her chair. Though, the sudden warmth made her curious. “Wait…is that…you?”

He would have sighed if he had any breath left, though it was becoming apparent that he was beginning to feel warm, much to his confusion. He still wasn't sure why, and simply assumed that Julie was just warming him up, or perhaps it was the blanket. "N-No...M-Must be b-blanket..." He added, realizing he seemed much more...out of breath than usual. Which was strange for someone who didn't have any breath in the first place. It was strange, but he didn't question it.

"B-But...I do f-feel strange..." He added, biting his lip a little.

With the sudden action of the corpse, she couldn’t help but finding herself wanting to do the same. She refrained from doing so, only because it just wouldn’t be right. They were friends, nothing but friends, right? Julie constantly told herself to keep that in her head. It wasn’t right for someone to fall in love with one of the dead— it was wrong after all.

Julie didn’t bother thinking about him just being a corpse. Maybe it was more of she wasn’t entirely ready to get into a relationship and loved the way they were right now. Sighing softly, she nuzzled closer to him, keeping her eyes closed. To break the quiet environment around them, she slowly began to hum a small lullaby. It wasn’t to help R sleep, since he couldn’t dream. It was to break the silence that filled the entire plane.

After awhile of quiet humming, she finally spoke up. “R? Do you…ever think you’ll be human— like— like the rest of them?”

The question hit him like a tonne of bricks, biting lightly at his lip and remaining silent for a few moments. Honestly, he hadn't expected the question from Julie, and it only further made him tell himself that he was useless as a meaningless, dead corpse.

Julie thought of him as a corpse, and it had finally come into his mind truly. He had been trying his hardest to become a human, and wanted her to see him as he once was the next time she saw him. But, she had come early. His heart-rate strangely increased, the warmness of everything beginning to become strangely...inviting. It was almost as if his body was beginning to heat up.

"M-Maybe..." He simply replied

She reached over, blanket in hand, and wrapped the both of them in it, and sat there for awhile in complete silence. Occasionally, she would glance over back to R, or move around a bit, but she mostly sat there, enjoying their silence together.

Of course, the silence could have been very awkward for the other, whether Julie liked it or not, and so she looked over to him and smiled brightly. Her face glowing with happiness as she smiled at him. Not a single strain of stress on her face once she smiled at him. Then, she scooted closer to R, and rested her head on his shoulder. Closing her eyes, the blonde began to feel herself relax.

”Keep warm, or at least try,”

R gave a small nod of his head, cuddling up into the blanket and relaxing his body. Even if his body was still cold to the touch, he was open to the idea of warming it up. He kept the blanket close to him, closing his eyes as well and smiling a little at the head on his shoulder.

His arm slowly reached to wrap around Julie, settling down and feeling the warmness of her body. It was strange how when it was quiet like this, he could hear Julie's heartbeat...but, he could also hear his own. Even if Julie's was much louder and faster, his was still there at least. It was a small reminder that even if he was still a corpse, he had something no other corpse had...

Then again, he was the only corpse left...

The look on the other’s face—emotions he found himself only able to furrow his brows at slightly—had Perry stopping, standing still and trying to straighten himself out. The lingering scent of something that wasn’t too old, but already rotting away little by little and turning to nothing, wasn’t what had drawn him in. The music from the plane had hooked him, and the corpse found himself meandering to the nearest seat and slipping easily into it.

Turning his head to look up to the other corpse, it took Perry a moment to mull over what the other had said, make sense of it before shrugging his shoulders, another small grunt coming from him. He didn’t have any friends. In the memories he could still access, there was no one there with him that he could call friend. If the other wasn’t going to chase him out, he could consider it. He wasn’t there to cause any kind of trouble anyway.

R took a step back as Perry let himself in, realizing he hadn't turned the vinyl player off. He slowly closed the plane doors once Perry was inside, shuffling over to sit on the seat across from the other male. R soon realized that since his heart wasn't exactly beating, Perry was at the stage where he couldn't speak or do much else but grunt. Those were strange days.

As long as Perry was like this, he wouldn't have a problem with the newly-undead male hanging around. "S-So..." He began to speak, before falling quiet and realizing it was useless. He simply lifted his arm and pointed to the vinyl player, looking to it and wondering whether that was really the reason Perry had been drawn here.

Chuckling at his small attempt to warm the both of them, she simply let go of him, and held the blanket in her hands, as if looking it over. It was nice how airplanes used to provide blankets and pillows. That is, until the apocalypse started and most airplanes were usually infested by the infected. But that was before, now, the infected worked along side with the humans.

Sitting down in one of the seats on the airplane, she gave another hum before patting a spot for her friend to sit, blanket in hand.

”Then let’s fix it. Come here and sit,” She told him gently, before patting a spot for him to sit right next to her.

R nodded his head lightly, slowly moving to sit in the spot next to her, nestling himself into the chair and making sure he was comfortable. He wasn't quite sure what Julie had in mind, but he was certain it'd be quite interesting. He suspected that the blanket would be placed on him in an attempt to warm him up to the degree where she wouldn't feel like she was hugging a block of ice.

"A-Alright...w-what next?" He asked, making sure his arms were rested on the arms of the chair. The male let a small grin grace his features again, even if the feeling still felt a little painful. It strangely felt less painful than before.

It hadn’t been that long since Perry had been able to get up after having not only his arm eaten, but his brains as well, a certain regeneration that kept the zombies bodies whole fixing him up, at the loss of some of his memories. He had stood and wandered out of the building, following lingering scent of almost fresh, spilled blood, until he had gotten to the airport.

Everything was strange to the few sharper senses he gained from turning, so when he heard the music coming from a nearby plane on the runway, he stumbled slowly up the stairs to find the source. Blue lips parted slightly when the corpse before him had stuttered his name, pressing into a thin line afterwards before he let out a quiet grunt. He was lucky to still remember his name, even as other memories were fading.

R's eyes were wide in confusion and worry. He had eaten most of Perry's brain, so it wasn't like the male could remember that he was the one who ended his life, right? If so, then he was in a bit of trouble. If only Marcus was still around here, or hell even if Julie had come to visit. His eyes slowly shifted into the airplane, seeing the fact that he had left a bit of brain on the counter just in case. Damn it, that's probably what he smelt.

"F...Friend?" He asked quietly, taking a step back into the plane and letting the thoughts run over in his mind. 'Don't worry R, you're capable, you're smart. You've fought a whole lot worse than one corpse.' He told himself, now wishing that the whole human transformation would happen faster for him.

She gently squeezed his hand, her smile somewhat growing a bit larger. It was always nice for her to be around the boy. It was as if the dead male became her new comfort item. It was just comforting to know he would always be there, and care so much about her, as so did she with him. Placing her other hand on the side of his pale face, Julie continued to stare into his grey eyes.

R was different than anyone she had ever really met, and it was simply amazing how they’ve been through much, and still were able to see each other as beautiful beings of the used to be apocalyptic world they lived in. Julie slowly let go of his hands and just wrapped her arms around him once more, enveloping him into a loving hug, not daring to let go.

Taking a deep breath, she rested her head on his chest before giggling. “You smell…We should probably give you a shower sometime soon,” She muttered out quietly, continuing to hug him close to her. It was surprisingly nice to be able to hug him.

The shorter girl began to hum softly to herself as she began to sway from side to side with R.

”You’re too cold,”

R felt different...Even if he was still cold as ice, he still felt as though he was getting warmer, whether it was just a feeling, or if Julie was giving him that effect...it still felt nice. It was comforting to know that even if he was still a rotting corpse, she'd still be there to help him along. He attempted to smile again, looking back into her eyes as he somehow managed to let a proper smile appear on his face.

The fact that it felt as though his skin would crack didn't mean anything. It still felt rather nice to be able to actually smile back at her, whether or not it pained his cold features. "Y-Yeah...I know." He replied quietly. He would have been taking showers if the plane had one, but as it stood, he'd have to go into town if he wanted a shower. And that was too far to walk for him, especially since driving was still a bit of a problem.

"I-I know...the a-airplane's cold too..." He imagined that wouldn't really help his case, but he had an idea. He reached down and grabbed a blanket, throwing it over the two slowly as they stood up. It didn't do much, but hell, he tried.

R's eyes slowly scanned over the humans that had come to his airplane. He recognized two of them...one he couldn't believe he'd actually see again...while the other was surrounded in mystery. "N-Nora..." He muttered quietly. "P-Perry..." Except...Perry looked too different. Far too different.

And the other girl was a complete mystery. He lightly raised his stiff hand and gave a light wave to the three. He didn't bother trying to say anything, as it wouldn't come out very well anyway.

Listening as he spoke on about eating vegitables, or human foods, and trying to be more human really hurt Julie. He wasn’t becoming a human like the other corpses had, instead…he just remained as a corpse, that seemed to try too hard to become human.

She sighed gently, and nodded a few times before going back over to him, and grabbing his cold hand. Intertwining their fingers, she stared up to him, as if trying to give him some of her warmth. It most definitely did pain her so much to hear him talk about wanting to be a human. Julie did really try to think of it positively; it was kind of like Pinocchio.

Giving him a smile in return, she continued to hold his hand in hers, almost in a more lovingly way.

”I’m sorry I left you all alone. I’m trying to spend as much time as I can with you, before I need to head back. Those skeletal-monsters were a pain in the ass to get by though,”

The taller male wasn't trying to give a sob story, or try to make Julie feel bad about leaving in anyway, he was just explaining what had been happening. He soon realized that it was having a negative effect on her and attempted to try and change the subject.

However, his cold, frozen lips seemed to not want to co-operate this time, and he was left in an awkward silence. When he felt Julie's warm hands against his own, R looked down to her and attempted to give a smile again. He gave her hands a gentle squeeze and slowly shook his head. "Y-You d-don't need to a-apologize...Y-You're here n-now...and even if...y-you need to go soon, at l-least I know you...still c-care about me." He smiled.

His current goal was of course, to become human. It wasn't fair on Julie that he was the only unlucky one to remain a corpse, and even if her father had told him that he could live with everyone else, he just didn't belong.

"A-And yeah...the boneys are r-really annoying...we should h-have to worry about th-them now, though..."

”Just fine, I guess." The blonde started, absent-mindlessly looking at more of more of his things. "Hm, you seem a bit more talkative then when I first met you,” She finally muttered out after a small pause, due to her thinking over why exactly she wanted to come back to this corpse was always beyond her. She didn’t know her exact feelings for the rotting corpse, besides that he saved her, and she was in absolute debt to him.

It was hard on her, having to leave him all alone. She wondered how he would survive, let alone take care of himself. Though, maybe it didn’t matter all that much due to him being dead. Did he only have to remember to eat anything with a beating heart? Also, what about those skeleton-things? Would he eventually turn into one?

Those thoughts daily ran through her head, but she tended to shove them off. Especially as of now, when she finally got to see him after God knows how long.

”How’ve you been holding up, R?”

'Ah, you know...Being dead.' he thought to himself. Of course, he'd never say something like that out loud, even if it wasn't a pain to speak. He had however, heard what she said about him being more talkative. "W-Well...that's because I've b-been...trying to act more h-human..." He explained, attempting to give a small smile in reply. It came out more as an awkward gesture of his lips, but they were stiff enough without trying to smile.

"A-And as for h-holding...u-up..." He nodded, looking around the place he called home once more. "W-Well...I've been t-trying to e-eat proper foods..." It was kind of a necessity now, as humans and corpses were living side-by-side now...Well, humans and the one unlucky corpse. "V-Vegetables d-do not taste as good as b-brains, but they're a g-good substitute..." He joked, realizing that as he spoke it became easier and easier. Lucky.

"The l-loneliness hasn't b-been fun...but M-Marcus v-visits every now and a-again..."

”I can see that,” She mused, nodding slowly to emphasize her looking around the very messy airplane. It would’ve been considered a health hazard, if of course he were human. But, he wasn’t, so it wasn’t something she thought she would have to worry about.

Without another word to him, she began to walked in between the seats, careful not to step on anything too important, and hummed in very much delight. It was good to catch up, but with how he was it wouldn’t be so easy. Not to mention the constant awkward tension between them since she left him all alone.

Glancing to him every once in awhile as she just walked continuously around in the plane. Finally, she spoke up once more;

”I’m not quite sure, really. I guess I missed this junk,”

She missed this? Of course, why was he surprised? Why she miss a corpse all that much? Sure she missed him as a friend, but why would she bother with anything else? Even if she had some kind of feelings for him at some point, they would have been long gone by this point.

He stayed in place, watching her walk through the place he called home. His stance was still rather hunched and awkward, as he had been learning to walk like a normal person, but it hadn't exactly been going according to plan.

R simply gave a light nod, slowly shuffling toward her and moving to lean against one of the seats. "S-So...U-Um...How h-have you been?" He asked.

”Yes R?" She asked, almost half knowing that he had missed her just as much as she missed him. Julie almost felt herself begin to cry, but quickly was able to stop herself; this was definitely not a time to cry.

That tiny smile on her face, began to grow bigger, until she was fully smiling at R. Not sure what to do next, she nervously nodded, before walking over to give him an awkward-like hug. His body was still cold. It wasn’t something she very much enjoyed, but she wouldn’t complain….He was dead after all. Sighing in relief, she nuzzled against his body, the blonde began to let go.

What was she going to tell him? The hell if she entirely knew. She just had to see him again. She could honestly admit that she was missing him far too much to keep her away from him for too long.

Almost in the most awkward manner possible, she glanced around, nodding as she noticed how much more stuff he seemed to obtain since they have been separated.

”So…I see you’re still hoarding, hm? Not much of a surprise, but you should try maybe being more organized or something,”

"I-I've been trying to g-get rid of some...stuff." He replied quietly as she stood above him, slowly rising up at the hug and wrapping his cold arms around her. She was so warm...and that only upset him. He was probably as cold as ice like usual, while she was like a fireplace on a cold winter's morning.

If the man had to be honest, he had been trying to get rid of some stuff, but most of the things he had hoarded away held special memories to him. Like that little bobble-head dog was something he found on his first day being this way. It was almost too precious to just get rid of. And all these vinyls were one of his only true sources of entertainment. Too much fun.

But, this wasn't the time for speaking. It was the time for catching up. R soon realized that his arms were still around her, and he slowly withdrew from the hug, stepping back to give her space.

'Okay, R...Now all you have to do is ask how everything's been and why she's out here like a normal person.' he told himself, taking a few breaths and trying his speech again.

"W-What....a-are you doing h-here?" He stuttered out, the whole speech thing still being a little difficult. Especially with no one around to speak to.
