Gee I wonder who that could be? It's not like I've made multiple posts and fanart of the character who made me realise I'm a trans woman now is it?
I guess one thing I really like about her is that her interactions and relationships with the other chosen children/digidestined are actually super sweet and do a good job of highlighting how much her newfound friendship with them really means a lot to her like how after Mimi helps Meiko (mostly) break out of shell for part 2 so in return she cheers Mimi up by wearing the cheerleader outfit for the café. Which does technically contribute to Mimi fulfilling the evolution prophecy that resulted in Rosemon thus making Meiko indirectly responsible for Palmon reaching the ultimate/mega level.
Or how in part 3 after Meicoomon runs away Sora attempts to cheer up Meiko by telling her how important the bond between the chosen children/digidestined and their digimon partners is Meiko returns the favour in part 4 of reminding Sora of the words she taught her of the words she taught her in part 3 showcasing that she truly held what she said to heart. And much like Mimi' Palmon this indirectly contributes to Sora fulfilling the evolution prophecy that results in Hououmon/Phoenixmon (meaning if it wasn't for Meiko we wouldn't have seen Mugendramon/Machinedramon get absolutely humiliated by Hououmon/Phoenixmon before getting even more humiliated when HerakleKabuterimon/HerculesKabuterimon and Seraphimon show up if you really think about it which is funny to think about).
And I really like how much the other chosen children/digidestined and their digimon partners value her as a person like in part 5 how they try to cheer her up when she is at her lowest and most depressed (I wish I had a group of friends who'd comfort me when I'm at my lowest but alas I'm an introvert irl).
There is some other stuff but I think I've said enough for this post (in other words I don't feel like typing that much down) She's just such a sweetheart who seems to bring out the best in them and they bring out the best in her.
@triweek2025 Meta Prompt - "Which scene made you laugh the hardest? OR Which scene made you cry?"
Okay, I'm going to answer both of these.
Scene which made me laugh
There's a decent amount of scenes that make me giggle or smile wen I think about them, but I only have one memory of a scene that made me laugh when I first saw it, and thinking about it as I type is making me laugh a little.
It isn't really a scene, more a sreenshot, but it's when we see Takeru go visit Yamato before his concert, or more accurately, what we see him wear.
Like look at this, what the fuck is it?
There's an official art piece of Takeru picking out this outfit and Hikari is with him, and now I'm disappointed in Hikari for ever picking an outfit like this.
Takeru looks like Kurt Hummel from Glee.
Every time I see this outfit I laugh, and I have to pause Tri when he appears on scene with it because I just have to talk about how stupid it is. I say that with affection, I love Takeru, but I just cant.
I'm laughing about it as I type this. Oh Takeru's fashion, one of the reasons I love Tri. He has so many different outfits and I love them all. Takeru was really exploring his style in Tri, and good for him, but it means we get outfits like this that make me burst out in laugher when I see it for the first time.
Scene that made me cry
This one also involves Takeru, and I think you might know what scene I'm talking about.
Yeah, that one, where Takeru loses Patamon once again.
Why out of all of them they made Patamon the first to be infected and made Takeru go through the trauma of losing his partner while he can do nothing about it?
I have no idea, but it does make for good angst.
Just hearing Patamon say their fine with dying because they have the memory of meeting Takeru while Takeru just cries because he knows there's nothing he can do and he'll lose Patamon again makes me so sad.
Seeing Takeru cry for hours as he holds Patamon, I just know he cried himself to sleep many nights before the reboot. Even sadder that Takeru doesn't tell Yamato about it, once again hiding his true feelings behind a fake smile.
My girls Mimi and Meiko are always so consistently pretty I can't choose just one (the rules never said anything about not being allowed to pick more than one anyways). Part of me is starting to think seeing Meiko in a cheerleader outfit as a teen may have been a contributor to my egg being cracked and realising I was trans. Gender goals if I'm being completely honest.
Kibou no Tsubasa(Wings of Hope) is Takaishi Takeru's character song from Tri, sung from his perspective, and today I want to talk about the lyrics and there meanings in regards to Takeru.
Takeru is my all-time favorite Chosen Child, and I think this song tells us a lot about him, so I really wanted to talk about it and share the meanings of the lyrics and their significance to Takeru.
Now, I just want to say I am using Wikimons translation of this song(which is a different site than what the video i linked uses). This means that depending on how you heard or read the song, the lyrics might be different. This is just the set of lyrics I'm using for my analysis.
By flapping the wings of hope,
We can fly anywhere
What is important to me is right here,
Your smiling face here with me
The wind is like a joyride,
Feeling good as I run through town and my clothes are looking choice
Even my voice sounds good
Hold still, you little brat
I don’t want to lose you again
I want to keep hugging you forever
So, I want to point out that I think this song is clearly Takeru singing about himself as well as Patamon.
With the lyric, "By flapping the wings of hope, We can fly anywhere", in clear reference to Patamon and their ability to evolve with Takeru's Crest of Hope, and how with that power they can fly. There's also how Takeru mentions that the wind is like a joyride, which might mean when Takeru's flying with Patamon he feels free and happy.
The next lyric, "Feeling good as I run through town and my clothes are looking choice", might be a direct reference to Tri, and all of Takeru weird but lovely clothes he wears through it. Takeru feels good about his clothing choice, which might mean Takeru's growing up and learning to live with what happened to him(in and out of the digital world) and finding joy in the little things like picking what he wears. Maybe the voice mention might be how Takeru's slowly(very slowly) starting to open up to the others and he's speaking more of his mind.
The final verse of the three is the most meaningful of them all. I find it funny how Takeru calls Patamon a brat, but seeing as Patamon is a child level Digimon and acts a lot like a child sometimes, it's fitting. The next line of, "I don't want to lose you again", is clearly talking about how Takeru lost Patamon in Adventure and how he doesn't want it to happen again(just for it to happen again during tri). The finally line is just sweet, how Takeru wants to have Patamon in his arms forever, not losing them like he has before.
I want to protect you forever and ever
I wish I could capture your innocence
I want to evolve from when I was a crybaby
By flapping the wings of hope,
We can fly anywhere
What is important to me is right here
Your smiling face here with me; I love you
The first lyric about Takeru wanting to protect Patamon it think is in reference to Takeru wanting to protect Patamon like he couldn't during Adventure and even Tri, wanting to protect Patamon for the rest of his life. There's also the innocence, which might be in reference to how Patamon is very child like and Takeru wanting to protect that, maybe as a self coping thing, a way of healing his own innocence which he lost during Adventure.
Now the main thing about this verse I notice, the lyrics, "I want to evolve from when I was a crybaby". I think this is in clear reference with how Takeru was during their first adventure, especially when Angemon died fighting Devimon. Takeru wants to change from that time, he doesn't want to be the crybaby that just watches as people fight and die for him, he wants to change and fight. He also wants to evolve the same way Digimon do, from a Child Level to an Adult Level, from a child that just cries to an adult that is actually useful.
There's also how Takeru mentions with the wings of hope he and Patamon can fly anywhere, and that's really sweet but it's also just another example of Digimon using wings and flight as a metaphor for love and a deep connection.
Don’t say I’m selfish
I can’t say how I really feel
It’s true,
I might let things slip out on occasion
I pretend to be pretty smart
I can’t change on my own,
But I am a little stronger
Now, these verses focus mainly on Takeru as he talks about himself.
Takeru says to not call him selfish, which I don't think is true because he does seem to care about others a lot, to the point where he hides what he truly feels just to not make the others worry about him. He's willing to do anything to protect them, even if he hides his true feelings about lots of things one thing he never hides his his care for his friends. However, he doesn't tell the others about Patamon being infected because he's scared of what might happen, that they might take Patamon from him, which is selfish, but it was just Takeru's trauma causing him to do that and the others don't seem angry at him for it so it's all fine.
There's also how Takeru says he can't say what he truly feels, which isn't entirely true because I don't think Takeru can't, it's that he won't. Takeru doesn't want to be the crybaby, he doesn't want the others to worry about him, he wants to be strong, like how he also mentions he's a little stronger, so he keeps everything inside hiding it behind a fake smile. Maybe Takeru can't as well, can't find it within himself to confront all of his feelings because he can't handle them, or maybe because they make him cry and turn back into the crybaby he was, which is not something Takeru wants. Takeru also says that he lets things slip out sometimes, which is also true as Takeru has a habit of lashing out in anger as well as in Tri when he cries in from of Meiko about Patamon, when he couldn't even tell his brother about it.
Takeru mentions how he only pretends to be smart, how he can't change on his own but he's a little stronger. I think it's in reference to how Takeru can't change/heal/grow on his own but he has been able to get a little stronger by himself. How Takeru just pretends to be stronger, smart, fine, but he's not. Takeru will never truly heal from everything by himself, he hides everything. He needs people who notice his pain, who can help him express his true feelings and get over his trauma.
I won’t lose you ever again
The days we can spend together,
I know are fleeting, but I won’t give them up
If I spread the wings of hope,
We can fly anywhere
Until the day I become an adult,
I want you to smile and laugh here with me
Back to Patamon.
I think this one is pretty simple and clear. Takeru doesn't want to lose Patamon again like he did before, he wants to hold onto Patamon, protect Patamon like he mentioned earlier.
Yet, the next two lyrics, I think are talking about Takeru and Patamon before the reboot, how Takeru knows they don't have a lot of time together but he won't give them up, he will stay with Patamon even when their infected. Or maybe Takeru knows that he'll have to say goodbye to Patamon again, that they won't be with each other forever and he wants to spend as much time as he can with them before they have to be separated again.
Now I will admit, the lyrics, "Until the day I become an adult, I want you to smile and laugh here with me", is a little confusing to me and I don't understand it as much as I did the others. It might be reference to LEZ, and how as Chosen Children grow up they lose their partners(eventually getting them back), but Takeru would have no idea about that during Tri. Maybe it's about the reboot and how Takeru doesn't think he'll see Patamon again, but he's a teenager when it happens, not when he becomes an adult. Maybe it's just Takeru thinking when he becomes an adult he won't be able to be with Patamon as much as he wants too, that Patamon will have to spend more time in the Digital World, so for now he wants to smile and laugh with Patamon as much as he can while he can.
Hope warms my heart,
It will rise again and again
Even if it can’t always be seen,
Surely it’s always there
I’ve learned that tomorrow will always come
By flapping the wings of hope,
We can fly anywhere
What is important to me is right here,
Your unchanging smile; I love you
In this verse, Takeru talks about Hope, his Hope, always warms his heart. The hope that Patamon gives him, but also the hope that he has in his heart that gives Patamon the power to fight. Takeru also talks about how Hope will always come back, always rising against the powers of Darkness, even if it can't always be seen. Even if Takeru thinks' he's lost it, even if he thinks it's Hopeless, there will always be Hope. Surely Hope is always there, and as long as Takeru is there, Hope will be as well as Takeru is the embodiment of Hope. Because of this Hope, because of all the fights he's and Patamon have come out of, he knows tomorrow will always come no matter how dark it seems the sun, the light, will rise.
The second half of the verse just repeats what we've heard/read in the song many times before, how with the wings of hope, with Patamon by his side, the two of them can fly anywhere. That with Patamon's wings and Takeru's Hope to create those wings, they can do anything, even fly. How Patamon is important to Takeru, that maybe one of the most important things to Takeru is Patamon.
Patamon's unchanging smile, even after everything they have been through, Patamon still smiles so brightly, maybe that smile is what gives Takeru Hope. The hope that allows Patamon to evolve and fly in the first place.
Takeru is Patamon's Hope, and Patamon is Takeru's Hope, and that forever and ever Takeru will always love Patamon.
I love this song, I think it gives great insight into Takeru and how he's changed over the years because of everything he's been through. How he truly loves Patamon as well as how his trauma expresses itself in his actions and thoughts.
Since @seventeenlovesthree said it was Takeru appreciation hour(ignore the fact that was hours ago), I wanted to reblog this meta I did on Takeru's character song from Tri also as a part of @triweek2025

What better way to celebrate 10 years of tri / @triweek2025 (and 10 years of me being active in the Digimon fandom on Tumblr, WOW!) than by finishing this fic, which I started waaaaay back in 2018 for the @makinishiweek shipping celebration? It's been a long time coming, but finally, it's DONE! I still love them! Their dynamic compels me, and this is how I chose to give them a little bit of closure :D
I may not always agree with everything depicted in the series, but for the sake of @triweek2025, I wanted to shed some light on one of my favourite moments - which actually involves various character parallels and contrasts that took place in the third movie, "Confession".
Since the movie itself revolves around Takeru and Koushirou as central characters - but this also includes the main movie character, Meiko, and, our main-main-character, Taichi.
Let's break down the parallels and contrasts - and let me explain my personal interpretation of it. Why I enjoyed the back and forth, the resolution and potential delay of another solution so much.
First of all, we have Takeru and Meiko - who both struggle with a sense of guilt in this movie for having kept secrets, for feeling responsible for what has happened, presumably due to their own (lack of) actions. Takeru hid the fact that Patamon had been infected from all the others and, despite hoping for everything to turn out fine in the end, felt himself being a mere bystander. Unable to act, unable to do anything that could have prevented his partner from snapping, from eventually destroying everything, including himself. This is clearly paralleled by Meiko's overall perception of self - she knew more about Meicoomon's whereabouts, its nature, than she revealed towards the others. Her contribution may or may not have helped to prevent the corruption from proceeding further, not only of her own, but also of the partners of everyone else. So she is, as well, ridden by guilt, undeserving of sympathy or companionship. Both of them suffered without letting anyone else in, haunted by the potential loss of bonds - something that Takeru has traditionally been confronted with before and, unfortunately, already experienced several times over. Not only in regards to Patamon's death, but also to his familial situation. However, there is a glimpse of hope in Takeru, once again. One that he has obtained by talking to Koushirou about it.
Which brings us to the second parallel: Takeru and Koushirou. Or rather, the impact they have on each other and others. The two of them have grown significantly closer throughout the course of the series. As Takeru reveals his sense of guilt towards Koushirou, the older of the two gets into full senpai-mode. After he had spent the majority of the movie struggling with finding a solution, overworking himself to the bone without sleep, all by himself, deeming himself useless and ignorant for being unable to stop the corruption of the Digimon by himself... Koushirou was eventually the one who initiated the reboot, causing all the Digimon to disappear for good in the end... Or so they thought. Despite the sense of guilt that had almost consumed Koushirou before - just like it is the case for Takeru and Meiko for the time being -, Tentomon's reassuring words and actions had been there to encourage him never to give up. And so he didn't. Despite the melancholy of having lost their partners, Koushirou is thoroughly focused on finding a solution to bring them all back. And so he shares a piece of wisdom with Takeru, one that actually binds them all together:
"It's not about what you couldn't do. It's about what you will do."
It's there and then that Takeru decides that he cannot give up either. It's there and then that his own sense of hope begins to return again - and thus, it is no surprise that he is using almost the exact same wording to try and pull Meiko out of her own darkness as well:
"It's not about whose fault it is. It's about what we do now."
However, Meiko hasn't arrived at the same place of hopefulness - at least not yet. She cannot let go of the weight of their own silence, unable to estimate the presumed consequences of her actions, leaving her despair over what happened... Which is a reaction that Taichi is also very familiar with.
And there we have the next parallel: Meiko and Taichi. As central characters of the movie series, their issues are quite similar to one another. It's their actions - as catalyst of the events as well as the leader of the group - that define the outcome. No matter what happens, they are irrevocably involved in the fate of the world(s). And at this specific point in time, the already mentioned weight that lasts on their shoulders, each separately, may be too much to bear. And so, they both choose the path of isolation: Meiko does, because after everything she deems herself responsible for - regardless of whether she had any control over it or not -, she cannot allow herself to join the group. The thorn of guilt sits too deep, making her believe that she doesn't deserve it, but also leaving her somewhat relieved that it is over now. Taichi has been doing it ever since the beginning of the movie series - unable to face the looping dread of having to grow up, the consequences and casualties of their ongoing fights, Yamato's judging yet somewhat disappointed glance... And so, at this point, just like Meiko cannot follow Takeru's invitation to join them, Taichi cannot join Koushirou's efforts to try and find a way to bring the Digimon back. A sense of resignation has overtaken both Meiko and Taichi at this point... But just like Takeru was feeling encouraged by Koushirou's words, they eventually reach through to Taichi as well.
And so, the last parallel to talk about involves Taichi and Koushirou and their symbolism of "rain and sun" - but also, in a sense, the remaining combinations, Koushirou and Meiko as well as Taichi and Takeru.
Taichi is - and always will be - the main driver of the Digimon Adventure series. And like I pointed out before, we won't progress, if he doesn't choose to act. At this point in time, his mind is swallowed by the dark cloud of rain that represents his own depressive state. Just like everyone else, just like Takeru, just like Meiko and even Koushirou, deep down inside, he may feel that sense of guilt and helplessness. Just like Takeru, he may have regretted not having stepped in. Just like Meiko, he may have felt like he doesn't deserve to see the Digimon ever again - even though he wants to. Oh, how he longs to see them again. It takes the memory of Koushirou screaming at him, the golden light of the sundown shimmering behind his back, that Taichi begins to snap out of his state.
It's where Taichi decides that if he chooses not to move, if he just waits and stays behind, he will just grow up with that sense of regret and waste. His rain is swept away by a small ray of sunshine.
Because it's not about what he couldn't do.
It's about what he will do.
It's, in my opinion, a very bittersweet and beautiful depiction of how different characters may influence each other - and how the own mental state affects how one may be able to handle it. Guilt is a sensation that connects all four of these characters; it's only when Koushirou decides that he doesn't want to just sit and mourn, that he manages to change the outlook of the others as well. His words light a spark in Taichi, who then gathers the courage to take a step forward as well. Takeru feels inspired by Koushirou too, thus using the same rhetoric, the same determination to each through to Meiko - but, at this point in time, fails to convince her.
Because she isn't ready. We as viewers have witnessed three characters we are familiar with capable of overcoming their stagnation. Not only that - but they also came to the conclusion to come together to fix it, instead of staying by themselves, ruminating, like they did for the majority of the time. It's a first resolution - but not the final one.
Meiko's time to shine hasn't come yet. But it has been prepared. Foreshadowed even.
We know the outcome of Tri. We know the progression of the next three movies. So even though Meiko may not have gathered the confidence to bounce back like Koushirou yet, the hope or the courage to act like Takeru and Taichi -, Takeru told her that they'd be waiting for her. For them to all unite and move forward, together. Because we also know that, besides Taichi's choices, it will all come down to one thing:
As far as the rules of Tri Week 2025 are concerned it never said anything about going into a massive amount of detail so I'll just cut straight to the point and say my favourite new ending from tri is "KNIFE OF DAY - Boku ni Totte".
It's a beautiful yet bittersweet song which is fitting for Part 3 of tri. I'm not sure what else to say other than I think good music usually speaks for itself. Definitely Knife of Day's best song and I'd argue one of the best songs to come out of digimon in general.
Oh, how could I ever pick a favorite outfit between all of the wonderful outfits Takeru wears.
Seriously, all of the different outfits we see Takeru in during Tri is one of my favorite things about Tri. I like the others' outfits as well, but Takeru is my all-time fav, so I love his the best.
Takeru is clearly exploring his style in Tri, and since he's in middle school it makes sense, but seeing what he choses to wear always makes my laugh. Mainly that outfit we see him in when he goes to visit Yamato, makes me laugh every time I see it.
There's also all the outfits they put Takeru in in promotional and collaboration art, but there's lots of those that I might just make another post with them. Just know that I love those outfits as well.
Takeru continuing his love of hats with many different types, I love it. Also, do you think he likes summer camp?
If you haven't already, would you mind explaining the creative prompts because I'm a bit confused.
Like for week two, is the prompt "confession and loss," or is it "favorite new outfit," or is it both?
Hello!
Since there are no individual prompts designated for each day of the event, you can pick and choose the prompts however you want.
You can decide if you want to post about the parts of the movie or one of your favourite things such as new ending/outfit etc.
The prompts are just there to nudge people in the right direction if needed, but there's no strong rule that you have to adhere to any of them during the event.
As long as you make content celebrating Tri, it will be treated as a valid entry!
Hello! I was making something for triweek, but when I tried to go to check the rules using the link on the pinned post, Tumblr said there was nothing and that the post wasn't there.
Is something wrong on my end, or is the link just broken?
Hello, sorry for the late response!
I have now fixed the link on the pinned post, and also linking the rules here for ease.
