Loving yourself is difficult. Loving yourself is hard. Loving yourself is a radical act in a society that profits off of you hating yourself. I’ve always disliked myself and it’s very very difficult for me to accept myself the way I am. I hate it when people tell me to just love myself. That’s really hard. I’m constantly plagued with self-hate and I’m always comparing myself to others. Learning to love yourself/be okay with who you are is REALLY DIFFICULT for some people and I don’t feel like many people understand that. Many people don’t feel terrible about themselves, don’t completely hate themselves, and don’t feel like utter trash all the time. Of course it’s hard for them to even try and understand how or why someone could hate themselves. So telling people “love yourself!!!” or “accept your flaws! God made you like this!!” wont make a difference or improve someone’s self-hate. Remember that.
