the image of Robert pulling aside Punch Up to tell him about Toxic is so funny to me because the way Punch Up squared up to that guy was way too arranged for it to be a coincidence

You are 60% water and every lake, river, pond, swamp, creek, and ocean you encounter wants to reclaim it desperately. Be careful out there.
Good, I hope it haunts everyone about to enter a body of water so bad that they wear a life jacket. 🙌
Every single person I knew (past tense) who has drowned was "a strong swimmer." Water in the wild does not care how good you are at swimming.
I mean this with all due respect:
You are not going to pass a skillcheck against a rip current once it has you.
Waves will not bow to your physical prowess no matter how impressive.
Shock does not care that you used to be on your school swim team.
If you hit your head, being good at swimming isn't going to turn you face-up while you're unconscious.
You may be unable to return to shore. Rescue may be unable to find you quickly.
I am love’s weakest soldier. I don’t believe in making that shit work. Don’t like their family that they’re super close to? Break up. Don’t like their friends? Break up. Wedding planning drama? Break up or elope. They cheated? IMMEDIATE break up. They’re jealous? Break up. They don’t like your pet? Break up. You hate the squalor of their apartment? You’re not obligated to teach a grown adult how to do basic chores, break up. They keep trying to start arguments? Break up. There is nothing definably wrong with them but you’re not feeling it? Out the door.
I get fighting for your relationship in some of these scenarios if you share assets or are married but if you’re just dating and they’re already making your life worse than it would be if you were single, go be single.
having such an obvious favorite character trope is life ruining bro
i can’t say shit about liking a character that acts slightly in a very specific way without being hit with a tidal wave of “of course you would” to live is to suffer
We need to seriously consider killing the people that are responsible for the ridiculous hurdles of the job application process. While I don’t love résumés, I can see what use they have. They list the relevant skills and job history you have pertinent to the job you’re applying for. That’s reasonable. Why on God’s good green Earth did we, as a society, accept cover letters as a thing? “Write some fanfic about what you’ll do on that thang if we hire you. Tell us you’ll bounce on it, that you’ll spin and do tricks on it, we wanna read that shit.” How about I stab you with a trident? Hmm, did you consider that? We gotta do cover letters for entry level jobs? “Do this personality test and we’ll see if you’re compatible for the job.” Is this speed dating? Are we about to get married? “Make an account with us, then you can apply for a job.” How about I tie you to five different angry horses? How does that sound?
I get where people are coming from by responding to 'we didn't have all this autism when I was young' by citing examples of older people they know who probably have undiagnosed autism. But lest we forget that in previous generations a lot of autistic people were institutionalised.
“natural immunity is good for kids” is my least favorite antivax pro-baby kissing phrase because. actually no. simple childhood illnesses can cause major lifelong disabilities. happened to me. happened to JFK. not to mention the millions of children in cemeteries across the globe who died from preventable and treatable common childhood ailments. “natural immunity” is not better than vaccine related immunity and getting kids sick when reasonable precautions could prevent it is bad.
Didn't imagine this side of her...
ADHD and autism has always existed throughout history but I think the difference now is the extreme stigma around the labels and the rush to figure out a cause. So many historical texts, newspapers and journals describe people who are potentially neurodivergent, had a learning disorder or intellectual disability. They’re like “My son is really helpful around the farm but he’s got a habit of repeating himself over and over again, he didn’t do good in school and he doesn’t seem interested in going to dances and meeting new people. He’s a good boy, just quiet.” or “My sister is a sweet girl but she is very sensitive and it takes a while for her to get used to changes. She’s house proud and very particular about where everything goes.“ and that is just how it was. Institutionalization was part of the reason you didn’t ‘see’ autistic and intellectually disabled people and another reason was that they just lived out their lives without anyone looking.
Being aromantic did in fact make me gayer in ways that are beyond comprehension
How about you pipe down and keep showing me pictures of BIRDS, Tumblr???
You just have to keep the momentum of a hyperfixation going like you're running for your life from the grim reaper (having no hyperfixation)
everyone knows that space is very very cold, and the sun is very very hot. so i assume there's a bit of space kind of near the sun which is just right. balmy space
