The best DC interpretation I've ever come up with is that Deathstroke always fights the Robins because he straight-up does not realize it's a different kid than the first time he tangled with Robin. He's been fighting the Teen Titans for like 20 years and it's always been Robin in charge and he just never thought about the fact that Robin Would've Aged Too. He's got no concept that Nightwing is the kid he fought 20 years ago, he thinks that's a whole separate guy, and all of the beef he has with Dick Grayson and all the other Robins is currently laser-focused on Damian, who he thinks is just Dick With A Tan
