Writing Tips
Punctuating Dialogue
✧
➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”
omg this is so helpful

How'd He become a Dhampir
shut up about the inconsistant capital letters in the title so, when he was turning into a vampire spawn, his now patron, a dude named Thrym (who hates vampire) was like "yo become my pawn and you wont become a vampire" and wes accepted of course, so now he's a warlock Thrym is some shadar-kai edgelord paladin, who was a former hero but like a lich obsessed with not dying became imortal and broke his oath his soul now tied to the shadowfell, making war against vampires because he hates strahd, and he has pawns, usually fighters, paladins, and other knightly folk, who hate vampires but he was a bit late to induct Wes so he made Wes a warlock
My Dumbass Character
Name is Wes Stirling, just a regular human, don't look too close at his teeth, he likes counting, and he dislikes bright lights, pointy wooden objects, running water, garlic, entering houses without permission okay you got me he's a vampire- or is he, nuh uh, he ain't a vampire he's just a dhampir, but unlike other dhampirs this guy's daddy ain't no vampire, he's just some human wait how does that work? thanks for asking myself well he turned into a dhampir by turning into a vampire but it stopped, this is all the info you'll get for now
"Would anyone want to read --" Listen, imma stop you right there. Yes. YES, someone would want to read that. You write that weird little fucked up story. Or that domestic little slice of life story. That drabble or that 300k monster.
I promise someone wants to read it.
this literally showed up right after my previous post, so i'll take that as a fuck yeah

Dragon lineage over generations
Edit:
I understand why people are tagging this as dnd, but it is not a part of dnd universe and it's not intended as a free-use resource.
I humbly ask for my drawings to be granted a small courtesy in this digital era --of being allowed to remain its own thing.
I know a guy who would like this
I get this comment at least twice a week, so here's an answer! Remember, it's always valid to use the equipment you prefer, even if it's not 'optimal' or 'historical'.

My favourite shit, if it works it works, now shut the fuck up about historical accuracy
Goliath Barbarian my beloved
gotta be one of my favourite class+race/species combos, also i dont see nearly enough people mention the similarities between the strike of the giants feat and some of the new 5.5e goliath options
