Robert is using the argument ‘he’s my husband and he’s going to die’ just to keep him out of prison, but he still wants to carry on with Aaron — even though he literally just threatened to shoot him and he doesn’t even know they have anything going on. It honestly drives me crazy how absolutely stupid they’re making Robert for this Kev storyline. I hope that when Robert finds out next week that Kev isn’t dying, he finally goes back to being absolutely ruthless again. I can’t keep watching this otherwise. The only bright spot is Aaron, who apparently still has a brain — and keeps looking better and better while he’s at it.

Robert is being so daft right now — unbelievable. This isn’t the Robert Sugden I know.

Kev got angry because he thought he had everything under control — that he had Robert under control. His manipulation and guilt-tripping of Robert worked quite well. I somehow feel sorry for him, but on the other hand, he took years of freedom away from Robert.

It’s only a matter of time before Aaron finally explodes. At the moment he’s bottling everything up, but his anger and frustration are obvious.

So, the things Robert did in prison that make your stomach turn… was it sleeping with Kev?

It turned out exactly the way I expected. That’s why I had no interest in the episode — we’re not going to see anything from Robert’s time in prison that we didn’t already hear about from his own accounts. As for the abuse and violence, it was obvious that Kev had stabbed himself once it was revealed he’d lied about his health condition. It really seems like Robert is too posh to ever be shown from a darker side. Compared to Aaron’s storylines, this is a comedy.

Kev keeps trying to pull Robert back mentally into prison — because that’s where he had power over him. He even admitted that he lied about not having long to live because he felt like Robert was slipping away from him. Robert was dependent on Kev inside prison, but that dependency doesn’t exist on the outside anymore. Kev’s need for control must have been extreme if he had to invent a reason for being released early. Their relationship is beyond toxic (Aaron and John were harmless in comparison) because Kev won’t let Robert live freely — since freedom means competition in the form of Aaron, which he didn’t have inside. Kev even told Vic, “he doesn’t understand what Robert sees in him.” He’s deeply insecure and clearly knows that something between Aaron and Robert has been rekindled outside, but he refuses to admit it.

If John and Kev don’t end up in a cell together next year, asking each other why they’re there — and they both answer “Aaron and Robert ruined my life” — then what was all of this for?

The funny thing is, Aaron looked so miserable in his marriage with John. And now he looks better than ever, even though he went through a traumatic experience and Robert’s psycho husband showed up. The same goes for Robert: when Aaron broke up with him, Robert looked just as miserable. And today, he already looks better than ever. The sex between them must be the elixir for good looks and sex appeal.

I swear to God, if Robert and Aaron don’t stroll through the village sometime next year and tease each other about who had the bigger psychopath as a husband — what’s the point?

To be completely honest, I kinda wish Robert would finally get really angry at Aaron. Everything Aaron threw at him today — being hot and cold, saying he’s the only one who ever fights for their love — that’s exactly what Robert went through for months after he came back. And then Aaron went and slept with him… only to run away right after.

No wonder Robert feels like second best. Because let’s be real, if John hadn’t turned out to be a psychopath, Aaron would still be living in that cosy little cottage with the jacuzzi. I just want Robert to finally let all that anger and pain out — everything he’s been swallowing for so long. Aaron has never had a problem screaming things in Robert’s face without thinking how much they’d hurt him. It’s about time Robert did the same.

Kev doesn’t fix anything.

What’s also interesting is Robert’s comment about Aaron/John: “At least I didn’t just sit back and let it happen.” But looking at the current situation, that’s exactly what he’s doing now — he’s just letting it happen. He has no opinion, no genuine emotions, and on top of that, he’s allowing himself to be diminished (that’s not the Robert Sugden we know).

Exactly — that’s how Aaron was too, lifeless next to John… like a zombie. I honestly feel like I’m watching a déjà vu unfold.
