It is a shame how much emphasis we all put on appearances. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you. I meant nothing personal. I just wanted to offer help.

Unfortunately, other people might judge you differently, depending on whether you look like a salesman, or a.. ...farmhand. And you need those people if you’re going to have a business. And without a business, you’re no Once-ler.

Any favorite hobbies?

Well, sometimes I visit the factory floor on the way out after it closes. There end up being a few thneed scraps lying around that didn’t meet quality standards.

I like to pick up a few and see what I can make out of the pieces. If it turns out well, I might pass by the design department to give them a few ideas.

I tried to draw each onceler in each artist’s individual style. I am so sorry if I’ve missed any detail or if any of the lines look uneven. This is my first time testing out this style so ye.

Miss ask-the-oncelers-secretary and I are hard at work in alternate universes. Much like the lookalikes around here, we don't actually work for the same Once-ler, and we've only just met.

She, er... seems nice. Yes. Everyone selected to work under Mister Once-ler is necessarily capable, so.

How did you end up working for the Once-ler?

I met Mister Once-ler long before his company was set up, but only once or twice. I worked in a little town not far from here.

I had this dream to make it as a reporter. Seems fairly silly now, though. Of course, I followed the news, and once he got going, all the news was about him. Naturally, our paths intersected. A few months after the Thneed business took off, I was personally sought out for this position.

I remember seeing him as a young man in town with his very first Thneed. And I took the opportunity to interview him at one point... I think I may have an old photo...

You look like someone who knows a thing or two about fashion. I've recently been contemplating about wearing a suit-y jacket and a pair of long green gloves. What would you recommend?

Suits are THE way to go, darling. They're snappy, professional, and show the world you mean business. Remember to dress for the station you want, not the one you have. That impression will get you there. Confidence preceeds everything.

As for the gloves... consider something a bit more low-key. It'd be like wearing white to someone else's wedding day. Mister Once-ler's gloves like to be unique, I think.

What exactly is your relationship with the man himself?

Ah, yes. He's made quite a name for himself - I knew some curiosity would arise.

Technically, he is my boss. I suppose our terms are more casual than that. I'm here to ensure he's presentable. That means anything not-so-presentable... doesn't get past me.

I also take notes and give pointers to guide his ideas.

He's very.... energetic.

I have a responsibility to the company aesthetic. Branding is imperative, you know. I updated my appearance when I was hired to reflect that.

I am in the business of turning heads. And the boss, of course, prefers things to be done with style.

When I say I'm here to make sure Mister Once-ler looks good, I mostly mean figuratively. I protect the company's image. Organise events, field calls from protesters, write speeches. I handle the press and photo shoots. Ensuring he looks his best in the public eye-- sometimes literally, yes.
