He beamed, his smile wide with untested arrogance. “We do, don’t we?” He asked, seeking reassurance for her once again to stroke his ego, a vice he often found himself giving into. “We should work together again.”

padme wasn't sure what she was doing in this new place, she missed her home and her life. but, she also had a good job here that was a little less stressful than what she did back home, so she wasn't going to complain, she had just finished a stressful day and had decided to grab something quick to eat, she got her food and sat down, she was in her head trying to plan the next day when she finally brought herself out of it "sorry, was too far into my head."
"It's okay." Renly accepted her apology easily, taking no personal hurt from her distraction, but pleased to have her attention once more. "I only asked what your plans for this weekend were. I thought we could go out. Decompress. Just the two of us?" He asked, hopeful for some time with a friend, time that he wouldn't have to spend attending events. @yourcaringlies

sidney let out a small breath as she sat down on the blanket that she brought to the park, she was trying to not think about everything she had gone through and the people that she lost since she was in high school. sidney was trying to relax on the blanket until she heard someone and looked up at them "sorry, was I in your way?"
Nesta was unable to mask her disdain, letting it instead show across the planes of her face as she stared down at the woman. "A little, yes." She stated, arms crossed over her chest, lips curved downward into a deep frown as she waited for the woman to take some responsibility for taking up so much space under the tree. "Do you typically take up so much space?" @yourcaringlies
Cleo let out a groan, she didn't like people touching her, mostly when they were treating her like a kid who couldn't take care of herself. "Well, maybe not all of us have access to combs, you know." She said simply, shrugging her shoulders at the other. Cleo did after all, live on the streets since she arrived here, accompanied by her companions, the rats. It wasn't a perfect situation, but Cleo would figure it out eventually. For now, it was alright. "It's been worse." She commented, running her own hand through her hair.
Nesta raised a judging brow at the other woman, "You don't have access to a comb?" She blinked, processing the words as if they would make more sense to her in a different pattern. "Combs are not hard to come by." She stated with the air of someone speaking a rather obvious statement as if the sky was blue or the sun was bright. "Just because it's been worse does not mean that it is any good now." @mxdnxghtrxn

"Should I stand aside next time? Allow them to talk to you to death instead?" Renly asked, his voice full of sincerity. There was no doubt in his mind that she would have died of sheer boredom if he had allowed things to go the way they were. "If you would prefer I can leave you to the wolves now." He offered, ready to walk away at her word.

Renly blinked, drawn back into reality by Tony's voice over the soft hum of the crowd that spanned the large room. "Yes," he offered a practiced and polite smile that lacked all the warmth of his real smile, leaning closer to a grimace. "I'm sorry. I didn't sleep much last night. Please, continue what you were saying."

Nesta rolled the fabric of her sleeve back down, covering the long grotesque cut that marked her forearm. "Luck had nothing to do with it." If she was lucky she would have gotten out of the spar without as much as the scratch she had received. Instead, luck had not been on her side, and neither had her balance. "I misstepped. It won't happen again." The determination shown in her voice.

Erik’s gaze sharpened as he looked at the other, a flicker of something unreadable passing through his eyes. Her offer hung in the air between them, tempting in its simplicity, yet complex in its implications. “Safe,” he repeated, the word almost foreign on his tongue. A bitter smile tugged at his lips, and he shook his head slowly. “I’ve been hunted, betrayed, and feared for as long as I can remember. Safety has always been a distant dream, one I stopped chasing a long time ago.”
Nesta found herself surprised, a rare feeling that felt outlandish amongst the normalcy of anger. It was not often that she was taken by surprise by others, finding them to typically be predictable creatures of habit. This man had done just that though — taken her and reflected her own experience right back at her and she found a disastrous pleasure in it. A reminiscent smile curved her lips upward. "Safety is a lie that people hide behind. It isn't real. It's a plaster across a broken arm." @brokenbeauties

Tony shrugged, looking over at the young woman with a raised eyebrow. “So drink more,” he said, lifting up his own glass in a sort of toast. “If the bartender cuts you off, that’s what the minibar in our rooms is for.” He took a sip of his drink, leaning back in his seat. “Just remember to take two aspirin with water before bed,” he said, taking another sip. “You don’t wanna wake up with a mariachi band playing La Cucaracha between your ears.” @trveenough
Nesta glanced at the older man, her features stoic, unyielding to the emotions that simmered just beneath. The advice was sage, wizened through experience she was sure. She wondered to herself what must have happened to this man for him to want to drown himself in liquor, but was immediately reminded of her benders, of the way they had worked as a distraction as the real problems within her festered. Was he festering? One look over him and she determined that it didn't matter to her. His business was his own and she didn't care to be a part of it. "You sound experienced." She observed, knocking her drink back in a long burning swallow. @beautifulghcstx

cindy looked up from the lock she was picking, an innocent look on her face "what? it's not like it's an actual crime. breaking into my own office because i forgot my key is totally legal." she really needed to keep better track of her keys, she stayed losing them. this exact thing happened once a week and the fact she was already so used to picking the lock showed it was a problem.
Generally, Nesta did not get along with other people. She found that they frequently were worth less than the work you had to put into them. Cindy, though, she had found to be different. "It's legal, but also more work than unlocking it with a key." She pointed out, arms crossed over her chest as she looked down at the kneeling woman. "You could probably find someone to make you a copy so you have more than one and avoid this altogether." @28recsons

logan had just finished a class and was happy to help others get fit and be able to protect themselves, he was putting his stuff away when he heard the door open and close. without looking up he spoke to whoever had just walked in "did we have a lesson? sorry my days are mixing together."
Renly approached slowly, not unlike a deer treading new territory, ready to bolt at the first sign of swift movement or loud noise. It was unlike him not to be confident, sure of himself and his surroundings, but his queasiness had gotten the better of him, the very idea that he might glimpse blood nauseated him. "No, I'm sorry to intrude. I just wanted to see if it was possible to start lessons with you and what that would cost me." @yourcaringlies

Renly couldn't fault Loras for safeguarding himself over him. If their roles were reversed it was likely that he would do the same, caring more for himself and the reputation he was meant to uphold than that of an acquaintance. "Don't tell me you're afraid of your father." He teased lightheartedly, the ghost of a smirk playing at the edge of his lips. "You must promise me that if you do happen upon a pen you will not draw on my face while I sleep. I can't sleep until you do." @lawlesslvnds

may had just finished her shift at work and decided to grab some caffeine, she cleared her throat as she sat at the last available table in the busy establishment, she was enjoying a book until she saw someone at the end of her table "sorry, was in my own little world here, you said something?"
Nesta sighed in exasperation, her annoyance shown plainly across her face at the woman's disregard for her surroundings. "What are you reading?" She repeated herself, eyes flashing from the woman to the obscured cover and back again, working to emphasize her question. @yourcaringlies

"My hair is fine, there's nothing wrong with my hair." Cleo let out a frustrated groan as she tried to move away from the other. Yes, maybe she had just been taking a nap in the park's bench and maybe her hair was a little all over the place right now, but she didn't need anyone fixing her hair. "Do you usually go around fixing people's hairs?" Cleo asked, trying to fix her own hair the best she could.
Nesta pulled her hand back from the other woman's hair, staring at it as if it was some unknown creature, unpossessed by her and acting on its own accord. Letting it fall to her side, she strained her fingers, stretching them out as she passed them over the side of her thigh, wiping them off. "No," she snapped defensively, enraged by her own behavior. "Maybe if you took a comb through yours it wouldn't be necessary for others to fix what you could." @mxdnxghtrxn

In the elegant lounge of the mysterious hotel, the chatter of guests was low, just audible over the sound of clinking glasses. Lucerys sat alone in one of the plush armchairs near the grand fireplace, lost in the maze of his mind. The flames danced behind the decorative metal guard, casting a warm glow over the room, hues of orange and red flickering over the young man's face as he stared into the fire. Blinking, he was pulled back to the present by Harwin's voice. "I'm fine." He replied defensively, a sharp edge to his tone. "Only tired." Luke tried to rectify his inital reaction, offering a softer tone the longer her spoke. "Are you well, Ser Strong?"

Aemond found solace within the hotel’s library; it seemed to hold texts and scrolls from everywhere. It piqued his curiosity as well as his apprehension. Being here was something he couldn’t even explain how he ended up here, only that he’d been somewhat free without the burden of tending to his elder brother or being forced to use his vast knowledge of warfare. He’d noticed a text he had been wishing to read missing from the shelves when he went to look for another. He noticed a rather familiar face, one that stood out so loudly in his mind so many years ago filled with bullying and cruelty. “Is that what I am Nephew?” He moved to take the opposite seat from the other, his one eye turning its gaze upon the other wondering just what the little strong prince was doing in his sanctuary at this time. “You have a book I wish to read.”
Lucerys had been immersed in the pages of the tome sprawled before him, only making note of his Uncle's presence once he had drawn close. Glancing up from the pages, his finger marked the spot where he had paused, silently hoping that the intrusion would be brief. "It is when you breathe so heavily." his voice edged with irritation as Aemond took a seat opposite him, confirming that this conversation would stretch on longer than he desired. If the Gods had any mercy, they might summon Jace to the library at that very moment to spare him. "Then you may wait until I am done with it." @brokenbeauties

"I know." Lucerys stood in the frame of the window, the moonlight casting shadows across his face as he peered out at the moon above. His heart yearned for Arrax, to feel the rush of the wind in his ears and the strength of his dragon's pounding wings beneath him. He turned away from the window, leaving the wish with the moon as he faced his older brother. "Do you think we will ever see them again? Arrax and Vermax?" His voice was soft, unsure.
