anyone who paid attention to liara’s behavior would know after a short period of time that she worked herself to the bone. her studies had ingrained an almost destructive sense of focus into her, the kind that wouldn’t allow her to rest until certain things were done. it was almost useful on the normandy. time was limited and she had many new things to learn. her mind would tell her ‘no time for rest’ until her body straight up shut down on it’s own. to tide herself over until she could afford a long rest, she would only allow herself a break of five or ten minutes if possible. long enough to feel like she had gained some kind of sleep without the loss of time. moments like these made her feel extremely lucky that few choose to bother her while they were on the ship.

that’s what made the hands on her shoulders a startling experience. she jumped enough to snap awake, though not enough for her spine to straighten. a glimpse of skin in the corner of her eye told her exactly who it was, though the hint of biotics attempting to meld together would have given it away moments later. ❝kaidan, i…❞ a small attempt to sit up, though it was nothing more than her head lifting off her arms for a brief moment. ❝it is appreciated.❞ a yawn broke her words. ❝shouldn’t you sleep as well?❞

i’d like to have a small moment of being a sap.

i started this blog on a whim. (not even lying, go ask @stvrvcined for proof.) and i was really not expecting anyone outside of her to follow/interact with me here. and i was terrified of writing liara because she has behaviors and patterns i’ve never written before. (still kinda scared tbh.) 

but y’all have been so nice??? 

i just wanted to thank you for dealing with me and my weird ideas and also me not really being here, and also those of you who also follow me over at @xghostryders cause y’all know how much of a shitposter i can be there.

liara rarely interacted with humans before becoming involved with shepard and their challenge to save the milky way.

not necessarily by choice, though not a lot of humans were actively looking into prothean ruins.

but as she grew to know shepard - and the various crew members on the normandy - liara’s habits and behavior slightly changed due to the influences around her.

her speech pattern, lingo, body language changed ever so slightly over the years, even if she couldn’t quite remove the formal asari reactions that were so deeply rooted within her due to the way she was raised with benezia.
