It’s okay to trust people, even public figures, and feel betrayed and hurt when they turn out to be pieces of shit.

I guarantee you that, known or unknown, there are people that you know right now who are also horrible and you’ll have no way of knowing, until you do, and it’s an awful feeling and it’s not your fault.

However, and this is key, with knowledge comes responsibility, and it IS your job to do the hard thing and believe victims, stick to your guns, protect the vulnerable, and withdraw your support from the powerful.

This is difficult. Structures of power don’t want you to do this. Instinctively, YOU don’t want to do this. Humans pack-bonding means you want to stand with the powerful, follow the group, not expose yourself.

But you MUST. If not you, who? All we have is each other and the vulnerable need you and your voice and your support.

Fuck Neil Gaiman. Fuck Johnny Depp. Fuck any and all powerful men with powerful friends.
