Those words echo through Sasha's head. A twinge of pain hits her chest as she peers at the boys hand on top of hers. That wasn't the problem.

She slips her hand away from his grasp and looks out at the view over the mountain. She readjusts herself on the hood of his car and sighs. "But what if I want people to know Jean.” she says softly, avoiding eye contact.

This caught the duo toned boy by surprise. It was more complicated than that. He had just figured out he liked her but there's drawings of Mikasa all over his sketchbook and room. And he's declared how much he thought he loved Mikasa to basically the whole school suddenly turning around and being with Sasha could get rumors started. Like how he settled for her or she's a rebound. Stupid crap he didn't want to deal with.

Plus there's the issue of their 2 best friends, Marco and Connie. Of course Marco is the one that tipped him off he may have feelings for Sasha but full out starting to date like 2 days after? That'd be a shock. And Connie would definitely kill him. "Wouldn't that be too sudden Sash?" Jean asks, looking over at the brunette

Sasha couldn't even muster a response for a few seconds as she frowns. She's liked him for years! Tried to tell him and give him hints and he'd just turn around and gush about Mikasa. Hell she told him what morning the Morning glory's were gonna bloom so they could go look at them together and he took that and tried to confess to Mikasa there. She had been waiting. Now he finally figured out his feelings and they are for her, he even brought her up to the mountain with Chinese food to confess and now he's too scared to tell anyone?! He wants to keep her a secret?! Why would he so easily confess to Mikasa a million times in front of everyone and embarrass himself over and over but not be open about loving someone who actually likes him back.

"Why now Jean? You've never had a problem being a simp for Mikasa but what? Now that your settling for me you don't even wanna be open about it?" She snaps.

Jeans heart stops for a second. "Sasha that isn't what I meant and you know it" he says to try and fix the situation quickly.

"Then what did you mean Jean?!" She asks as she pushes herself off the hood of his car and spins to look at him, tears brimming her eyes.

"I just haven't had time. It's too sudden, I just figured out I like you that way "Jean says in defense.

"oh well that's great Jean. Meanwhile I've liked you for years! Why even tell me if your not fully certain or ready?!" She yells, heading towards the passenger door of his car.

"because you need to know that I like you. And I want to be with you just slowly" jean groans.

"you know what I think? You should continue to figure it out until your ready to be with me publicly then you do this right but for now. Take me home. I don't want to hear another word!" She yells, slamming the door as she slides in.

Jean goes to protest. Man everything came out wrong. He sighs in defeat and gets in the car. He gives her one more glance before taking her home.
