Another week another pound gone!!! So I have this Fitbit and a few friends of mine have it as well, its a secret competition between all my friends and this week I wrecked all their scores! Here’s another progress photo and I swear I’m not mad, I just have a mean rbf
My one year progression photo!! I started June 30th 2014 at around 240 pounds, and today I’m at a good 213lbs. I was originally hoping to be 200lbs in a year but I started this journey never having worked out before and learning along the way. I started when I reached that weight and convinced myself that that want acceptable anymore so i took a leap and joined a gym. For the summer I kind of stayed away from the weight machines because I didn’t know what to do and I was embarrassed, so I stuck to cardio all summer. Lost a good 5ish pounds that way. I eventually started my senior year of college where a friend of mine agreed to go to the gym with me to help me get a handle on lifting weights, so we did that a few times a week. And that lasted for a couple of months and I lost a few pounds here and there. It wasn’t until I got home for my winter break and started working out with my sister who did weight lifting in school, did I notice a jump in my lifting and weight loss. So I kept going at it like she taught me for another 4 months on my own pretty consistently. Lost like another 8 lbs or so that way. Now that it’s summer again, I’ve had a lot of free time to work out and I’m getting a lot closer to my actual initial goal which is awesome. In one years time I don’t know what my body will look like really, but it will be better than it was and that’s probably good enough for me.
Another day, another hour long elliptical session
One hour of cardio later. I think I'm going to start posting photos a bit more. I'm getting a bit more comfortable with how I look and I think this helps.
Another week down, more progress made. Hello broader chest. My room is so messy because I'm in the middle of packing all my life away into small tiny boxes. Had to take a little break so I thought... Why not
So I decided to try shaving my chest to see how I like it...
I dont lol
thoughts?
It’s nearing my one year mark that I gave myself to be more fit, inshape and active. I mean. so far so good right? This year has been a huge change for me. When I hit 240lbs at my heaviest, I decided that I should finally try to care about my body, so pretty much overnight I changed everything. I didn’t really each junk food all that much to begin with, I didnt really drink soda or sweet drinks, I didnt eat candy, I just didnt eat the healthiest. So that’s where I started, I cut out excessively fatty goods, and started running because I didnt feel comfortable picking up weights.
That lasted for maybe 3 months, and I lost a solid 12ish pounds that way, but then my body started getting really complacent with that. So with the help of my friend who did rugby in college, I started lifting weights. Around the same time I changed my diet again, I never really liked red meats either, so I took that out of my diet and replaced with more chicken and fish, and I started eating more salads. And that way I lost about 10 lbs again.
Right now I’m weighing a solid 215lbs and although that’s not where I want to be, It’s a good progression for someone who never worked out before this year, wasn’t a part of any sports in school and mostly sit around a lot. My 1 year mark is coming up really soon exactly 1 month away from today and to be honest I’m pretty proud of the progress I’ve made this far. My Ideal weight is in the 200-210lb range but with a lot more muscle instead of the fat that’s sticking around on my body. I’m confident that 1 year from now it’ll be mostly gone. Soooo yea.
Sooo, this is me so far, I guess I’m doing well? Let’s pretend that my room isnt a mess, I just wanted to post a progress photo Left: August 2014, 236lbs Right: April 26 2015, 220lbs
There isn’t much in terms of weight loss, but I’m gaining more muscle, so I’m okay with that.
Guess I gotta keep on going huh?
So I guess I’ll do a little progress photo? I’m slowly getting rid of that pesky body fat so it looks like. But I still have a long ways to go to what I want.
Welp....my first progress photo so far.
The progress is really slow, but there's a 16lb difference between the two photos, so I'm happy with that right now. I started at 236lbs and now I'm 220lbs with a smaller mid section, 2 inches off my waist, and a little bit less fat.
until next time, maybe next week. idk. I think I want to record my gym progress and my thoughts on here so that I dont have to keep that on my computer.
*makes an involuntary “meep” sound and then starts drooling*
