Normally, being shaken awake would have thrown Ruby into a flurry of punching whoever was touching her. Living with two older brothers taught her that. However, the familiar voice of her brother, kept her from punching him. If he hadn’t said anything, he would have gotten a punch in the face, but since he was genuinely waking her up, she refrained. Bright blue eyes slowly opened and she looked up at him, confused by her surroundings for a moment. “What?” She pushed herself up and yawned, rubbing her eyes with one hand while the other took the coffee from her brother. “The fuck? How long have I been sleeping?”
He was honestly surprised that Ruby hadn’t hit him. Anyone else was a guarantee, but usually he only had a ninety percent chance of not getting socked in the face. Maybe it had something to do with the coffee. “No idea,” Tate answered, sitting next to her. “I got here a minute ago and they were calling your name, so I don’t think very long. What’s got you so tired?”
