chloeduh:
Of course Astra had to be confusing to navigate around. Chloé was already annoyed that she wasn’t dropped off in luxury like she was promised; so not knowing where to go next was just absolutely ridiculous. All of her expensive baggage was just on the ground next to her out in the open and Chloé would rather drop dead then carry them herself. She pulled her phone out so she could text her father, but before she could press send she noticed someone walking by. “Yoo-hoo!” She called out before putting her hands on her hips. “The day has been just dreadful and I could use some assistance with my bags. Can you like, be useful and show me where I can find my room?”
Vidia was no stranger to people who thought their shit didn’t stink. She’d ran into more than her fair share of them when she was doing track. Hell, she could be one of them sometimes if she didn’t catch herself before going a little overboard. Still, she could pretty much feel her own dad roll over in his grave if she ever behaved like the girl who she just so happened to walk past as she was checking her phone. Freezing in her tracks, the brunette took a second before turning on her heel to face the blonde. A calm look on her face, she took a step forward and glanced down at the bags at the girl’s feet before looking back at her with a wicked grin creeping onto her face. "Sorry. Do I look like a fucking bag boy to you? What don’t you like be useful and help yourself.” She finished with a fake chipper voice.

Barbie had just finished up a business meeting and was strolling along the streets of Sacramento when the blonde realised she’d gotten herself lost. Not the smartest of moves by any account. She pulled out her phone to try and map a way back to Astra, but her ever over-used phone bleeped out a low-battery tone before promptly dying. “Dang it!”
Vidia was minding her own business, sitting on a bench in Sacramento after spending the day shopping of all things. The familiar but quiet sound of a low battery tone hit her ears and for a second she thought it was her own but she was pleased to see hers was still at least half charged. Unable to resist her own snarky urges, Vidia raised the slushie she had in her other hand to her mouth as she raised her gaze to look at the woman who’d happened to pass in front of her. “Life’s a real bitch sometimes. Ain’t it?”
invisibleviolet:
Violet was no stranger to galas. She had attended a lot of them with her father and grandfather. This one seemed different though because she could truly be herself instead of putting on a show for the campaign. She had taken a while to shower, letting the warm water fall over herself. She found it relaxing as her nerves were kicking in already. She was paired with someone that she had yet to meet, though that was most people around Astra if she was being honest. She needed to get out there more often. She was still working on her shyness and meeting new people was still hard.
She got herself ready, pulling her dress on. Violet had found a really pretty purple dress to wear and though she didn’t dress up often, she did actually enjoy it. She had found her roommate, asking her to zip up the back for her. The purple sat as a stark contrast against her pale skin and her dark hair. She took some time to get her hair right and everything settled, grabbing the flowers and chocolate she had gotten her date. She had never met Vidia but she was excited about the chance to meet another person, even if she was anxious.
When the knock on the door came, she swallowed before heading towards it. Violet pulled it open, offering the person on the other side a smile. “Hi, I’m Violet.” She said softly, holding out the flowers and chocolates. “I got these for you, I hope that’s okay….” She quickly added, not wanting to push it too far or anything.

Vidia couldn’t believe that she was actually a little nervous about being set up on some stupid date by Astra. How could she even let this happen to her in the first place? Oh well, no use dwelling on it now, she might as well just get this over with now. It did help a little bit that the picture they’d given her of her date was pretty cute.
She hoped it wasn’t too cliche for her to wear black to a Valentine’s day party because she wanted to be a little different but in her defense, it was the nicest dress that she could find the day before the event even happened.
The knock on the door didn’t take her by surprise at all really. Vidia had been pacing by the door for about 10 minutes already, adrenaline pumping, when she heard it and it took everything she had not to just rip the door open. But when she opened the door, she actually smiled a little despite what she thought would happen. "Hey Violet, I’m Vidia. You probably already know that though, right?” Her gaze fell to the flowers in the other girl’s hand as she reached out and took the gifts, furrowing her brow as she did. “Oh shit, thanks. I...didn’t get you anything. Sorry wow I’m such a shithead.”
perriebellanger:
Perrie read the other girl’s face, seeing the boredom written all over her. She could already tell that this girl didn’t care for her in the slightest, but her father always told her to be pleasant to strangers. “That would be because I plan to read them, and to read them I have to being them back to my room.” She explained.
Vidia looked over the book in her hand before shrugging her shoulders and holding it out to the other woman. "Fair enough, I guess. Everyone has their own thing. Some of us like to keep active and others like...books.” She wrinkled her nose. But honestly, who was she to judge the other girl for liking to read?
perriebellanger:
With a pile of books in her hands, Perrie knew that she should have brought a bag or something, but she was stubborn and thought that she could easily carry ten books in her two small hands. It had been going so well so far, but as she started walking down the stairs, a little stumble sent books tumbling to the floor, right into someone’s feet. “Shit. I’m sorry, could I get those back?”
Vidia stopped right on the bottom step of the landing and stared down at the books that had landed at her feet. Raising an eyebrow at the other woman, she picked up the closest book with a bored expression on her face. "Here you go. Why the hell are you carrying so many of those anyway?”

A small smile overtook his features and grew until he was full-on grinning. “She’ll think about it,” he drawled, “now that’s interesting!” Not being able to resist some sugar himself, Jack sat down, emptied his pockets and arms until the bench was covered in sweets and chocolates. Then he grabbed a candy cane himself, unwrapping it and munching on it. “Truly, it is! And to consider doing this just once every year. Some people are famous regardless of the season, and I definitely don’t envy them.” Sure, Jack was well-known in his hometown as ‘the boy who forgot’, but it wasn’t like kids came running up to him to ask for an autograph. “I’ve been dreaming of a white Christmas, not a Christmas filled with sunlight,” he joked. “What part of Italy are you from, then?”
This guy’s smile was contagious and Vidia couldn’t stop herself from letting out a short laugh. "What can I say! I’m a very interesting woman.” She winked playfully at the man as he sat down next to her on the bench. She crossed her legs before turning to look at him as she ate her candy cane. “So much work on one day but the 364 days off must be totally worth it,” she joked. “I don’t really envy any famous people at all. It can be kind of exhausting, I hear.” It was true. It wasn’t like her dad had been famous but he was on his way before he died, according to her mother. “Oh, a Christmas filled with sunlight would be fine too as long as there was snow on the ground first!” She flashed him a brilliant smile at the thought of talking about her home. “I’m from Milan. Where are you from? Anywhere interesting?”
lunaloquitur:
Now that his duty as self-proclaimed young and handsome Santa was done, Jack was free to lean back and relax - well, figuratively. He noticed the flirtatious remark thrown his way, and he wasn’t afraid to jump in with his own. “You can still sit on my lap if you really want to, but no. It’s not mandatory,” he said, grinning brightly. “May I?” He gestured to the empty space on the bench next to her. “Being Santa is tiring,” he lied. The Christmas decorations around town made him feel strangely warm inside, but it still irked him that he had no idea how his family celebrated it, or used to. However they did, it would certainly be different now, with Flee gone. He felt bad for the couple - his parents. “Christmas did, but winter didn’t. I guess I should have expected it in California, but I just really want snow.”
Vidia smirked to herself as she unwrapped the candy cane. The fact that he didn’t seem to want to leave after her comment was also pretty great. The dark-haired girl raised an eyebrow, "I’ll think about it.” She joked and moved down to make room for him as she stuck the candy cane in her mouth. “Oh I can only imagine being Santa is tiring. All those adoring fans? Must be exhausting!” Vidia nodded her head slowly. She wouldn’t mind seeing snow either in all honesty. “Sometimes Christmas is better without snow but I get that. It didn’t really snow in the part of Italy that I came from. I mean it did, but barely. It would have been nice to see some!”

lunaloquitur:
The best thing about not knowing or remembering anyone around Christmas was definitely the amount of money he saved by not having to buy anyone gifts. The worst part? Not having anyone to buy gifts for. So he just bought himself gifts: it was the perfect solution. His arms were filled with candy canes and chocolate bars, which he’d intended to eat himself, but when a kid passed by with wide eyes and an open mouth, he gave them a chocolate bar. He wasn’t a shitty person. When he noticed someone else watching him, he walked over, handing them a candy cane. “Guess this makes me a younger, more handsome version of Santa Claus?”
Vidia had decided to roller blade for exercise that morning, a good choice she’d told herself. She was sitting on a bench taking her roller blades off and shoving them roughly back into her bag when she glanced up. It was a rather quiet day and it was kind of nice to hear the birds for once. Without a second thought, she looked back down and started tying her shoelaces. A few seconds later she found herself looking up once again. Through her dark sunglasses she saw someone hand a little kid a candy bar. Nice. And just her luck, the person was heading right over to her. The dark-haired woman sat up just as he handed a candy cane to her. A small smirk crept onto her face as she took it. "Wow, a candy cane for little old me? And I don’t even have to sit on your lap for it, handsome Santa? I guess Christmas came early.”
terencewright:
The sound of someone elses voice brought Terence out of his head with a start as he flinched back from the sudden sound. It was his own fault really, he was the one who had stopped mid walk to stare at the sun setting, but the colours had reminded him of something. Turning to look at his little jump scare he tried to play it off, giving her a little smile and a nod. “Guess not everyone is so appreciative of some pretty colours in the sky.”
Vidia nodded slowly as the man in front of her spoke. Someone sounded a little on the hippie side but who was she to judge that? "I guess not everyone stops to smell the roses as often as they should.” She ran a hand through her hair before continuing on. “I mean this place is so beautiful, you think people would appreciate it more. Sure, it might be a little boring at times but murder for excitement? Being boring isn’t that bad if that’s the alternative!”
wcrldofmyown:
Alice slowly turned to look at the girl. She was practically in Wonderland with the way her brain was seeing this. She swore Vidia had purple hair for a split second before she rubbed her eyes and things were normal again. She smiled lazily and ran a hand through her hair. “Yeah. This place is really bonkers on its own. No need for death and shit. Brings the vibes down.”
The brunette turned her head to look at the person who’d spoken. She wasn’t going to lie, her mood brightened a little when she recognized the other woman. Standing up a little straighter, she ran a hand through her hair. "Harshing your vibes? That’s too bad. No one wants to have to deal with that! There’s probably enough shit around here to harsh your vibe without death around.” She let out a little laugh.
tuffestthorston:
Tate had been stretching again after a run, and he felt…fine. He must have been out for a while, though, because it was starting to get dark. Crossing an arm across his chest, he heard a voice, and shot the girl who spoke a look. “You must not be looking very hard. Places aren’t boring, people who don’t do anything are.” He’d learned that very early on. You just had to get into shit.
Vidia shot the man in front of her one of her almost infamous scathing looks. Who the hell did he think he was saying something like that to her? Pretty much inferring that she was boring? She let out a scoff and rolled her eyes, "Places can be boring. What do you say to people who try to find stuff to do but live in places where there’s nothing to do? I would think that counts as a place being boring as fuck!”
thestarrattler:
The night sky came early as it tended to do when daylight savings came up in the year, and it was a time they’d usually embrace. Though, it was different this year. Little to no stars were in sight, and the weather was a tad colder than they were used to in Arizona. The lights and buzzing of the city sort of made up for it, but they were put in a weird place where they didn’t know how to feel about it. They stayed quiet with an unlit cigarette in hand, looking up at the sunset, but their attention was drawn away when the person behind spoke, “Eh,” they shrugged, “what’s that sayin’, different strokes for different folk or somethin’?”
Vidia tilted her head to the side as the person in front of her spoke. Maybe they were right, but she still really didn’t understand how so many people could like it constantly calm all the time. “Yeah, I guess. I don’t like things that most other people like but I don’t think we should have to find excitement in potential murder.” She shrugged her shoulders, “But maybe that’s just me!” Vidia frowned a little bit as she tapped her foot on the ground. “But who am I to judge.”
tinkerbellanger:
Tink had been walking quietly down the sidewalk in order to get some fresh air. She’d been itching to see somewhere other than the constellation compound, which was where she’d been spending the majority of her time since arriving here. The only person she really knew so far was Peter, but Tink didn’t want to expect him to hangout with her. Although she wanted to spend her time with him, she knew that she needed to make other friends too. Maybe that way she could stop thinking about him so much when she was alone.
The woman’s voice snapped Tink out of her thoughts. “I guess you read my mind,” she replied, returning the sound in the form of a chuckle. “California seems like it should be ‘party city,’ but I haven’t come across anything relatively interesting yet… unfortunately,” she said, casually eyeing her nails.
Vidia didn’t really expect someone to answer her when she tried to talk to them but maybe this place was a little more surprising than she thought it could be. She turned her head and eyed the young woman who had answered her and she took in her appearance. There seemed to be nothing off about her and didn’t look like she could be much competition if there ever was one. Maybe she should be nice? Try to make some friends.
"Maybe it’s one of my many gifts,” she joked in a deadpan voice. “I mean the most interesting thing I’ve seen is people losing their minds over a murder that wasn’t even real. I guess that was kind of entertaining, though. I wish there was just something more fun.” The brunette shrugged her shoulders.
