Supposed or Desirable F3 Villain:
Returned Prince Hans
An Evil Spirit/Being
Resurrected King Runeard
An ordinary Man/Woman
A new hostile Tribe/member of the Northuldra Tribe
A Royalty of other Kingdom
Elsa herself
Arendellian/Frohana member(either enchanted of not)
There will be no villain/spiritual quality or trait such us fear or prejudice
Queen Rita
I struggle to see how King Runeard or Queen Rita could return, but if it happens, then what would you think if Hans also returns? Like Hans somehow joins Runeard, only to spend most of the movie trying to undermine Runeard's efforts, not because Hans fully understands how heinous his actions in Frozen 1 were, but because Runeard reminds Hans of his Father, and even the words that come out of Runeard's mouth remind him of things his Father would say. His Father pretty much admitted on his deathbed that Hans NEVER had a chance at ever earning his Father's approval. So Hans doesn't take this well at all. So Hans ends up working against Runeard, even to the point of trying to join forces with Elsa and Anna. So Hans ends up joining forces with Elsa and Anna, even though part of him still wished that he won in Frozen 1. So he's not fully redeemed at the end of Frozen 3, but he's starting to get there. So essentially Frozen 3 would end with him being semi-redeemed, not fully redeemed, since I don't think Frozen 3 would have much time for that. At the end, Hans makes a blood oath to Arendelle, essentially cutting off ties to the Southern Isles. @galaxygolfergirl @magentacravat @tugadork @leepunzel @iambellarose1816 @erisluna35
@jameskillianreaper I don't think they'll bring back Runeard. By all intents and purposes, he was the main villain of Frozen 2 despite being long dead since his actions against the Northuldra were the catalyst for the plot of the movie. There's no longer any use for his character in the franchise.
I'm still very much of support of the idea that, if Hans does return, he teams up with the main villain (supernatural or not, still having elemental powers) who's using him for their own ends and he has a change of heart along the way. The idea of Hans disowning his family (assuming they are portrayed as toxic; I wouldn't want all of them to be, especially if they were to, say, bring in Lars from the non-canon A Frozen Heart novel) and going on his own future journey of self-discovery and atonement after all of it would definitely be a fascinating one. Him pledging allegience to Arendelle would be cool, but I don't think they would go that route and have Anna and Elsa forgive him in a realistic sense.
Yet I'm also not against what I've said in regards to Hans still being a villain in Frozen 3 as long as he's portrayed in a Shakesperean fashion and his characterization is given proper exploration (for as much as you can possibly give him in a roughly 90 minute animated movie at least).
Discussing Hansā Hypothetical Return in Frozen 3
So⦠been a long while since Iāve made a post on here. For the few Frozen peeps who follow me, my Fractured fan-fic is currently on an indefinite hiatus (I still very much plan to continue writing it and seeing it through to the end and actually post it at some point, but writerās block continues to pester me and I still need much more storybeats to properly flesh out before I get any serious work done; by now Iāve only written like half the prologue section).
With that out of the way, and with Frozen 3 being officially greenlit, the question still wonders in the air whether or not everyoneās favorite dastardly prince has the opportunity to make a comeback after being left out of Frozen 2 (though, at least we know via that one Santino Fontanaās old interview that Hans was intended to be a part of the second movie very early on during development, or at least, the idea itself was discussed).
As of right now, and realistically speaking, I donāt think itās very likely for a few reasons: Jen Lee clearly has changed her mind between Frozens 1 and 2 in regards to Hansā character so I donāt believe she would begin to consider revisiting his character; him literally being called an unreedemable monster by Elsa in F2 is not a good indication for any chances of a redemption arc with him should he return; in that one group interview with Santino, Josh Gad and the Lopez a few years back, Hans was brought up and Gad even supported the idea of him coming back for a Frozen 3, but Santino seemed very hesitant to the idea so, if he doesnāt want to do it assuming they want Hans back, then I donāt think he would do it (unless maybe they give the character some depth or give him an overall importance to the plot. I donāt know, something that could convince him to come back to the role.)
But I also like to consider what-ifs, and one of those what-ifs is with what to do with Hansā character should he be revisited, because there are quite a few storytelling routes they could go with him, which I will discuss below and you guys can tell me your thoughts if youāre particularly interested. These are just basic ideas that came to my head:

Well, Iām assuming No. 3 is the one you would prefer. And so do I. But considering that such an idea would need more build up than the others, I think No. 3 only has any chance of happening(in a good way) if Hans gets a spin off series or a spin off movie in which he gets LOADS of screen time, or if he appears in a Frozen tv series. Certainly No. 3 has the heaviest word count out of everything youāve described. I can picture No. 4 happening if he does get a major role in Frozen 3, and I think the odds of that happening are higher than No. 3. It would be more bittersweet than the ending of Frozen 2, but considering that itās the third movie(which is usually the point in which many fans assume to be the finale for any series), I donāt think itās a good idea to end the 3rd movie on a bittersweet note rather than a more glaringly happy one. I donāt like No 1 and 2 for the reasons youāve described. Interestingly, I think it was rumored at one point Frozen 2 was going to have a more glaringly darker ending. Also, itās been over a year since youāve said anything about Frozen. I hope the announcement of Frozen 3 has made you more passionate about talking about Frozen.Ā @erisluna35Ā @trueānorthĀ @magentacravatĀ @leepunzelĀ
Oh I agree! This is all just conjecture from my end and in no way how I think they'll objectively handle Hans should he brought back in Frozen 3. It's all just fun speculation at the end of the day, though yeah, objectively speaking the first two points would be the most uninsteresting and irritating way to go about it.
I think for me while writing the third point, there were just more unique possibilities and interesting scenarios that came to mind and it just flourished from there. That's why it ended up turning out longer than the other bullet points. I might still just elaborate on that concept in a future post just for the fun of it. Though, Frozen 3 having an elemental villain is something I believe could very well be feasible.
Your comments on a spin-off focusing on Hans that could give such a plotline the time it needs would be really interesting in theory (or heck, I'm surprised at this point Disney hasn't considered doing an actual Frozen series after how successful the Tangled one was), but as of right now the majority of Frozen fans and the general public don't really care about his character to be remotely interested in considering the idea. I still do like the notion of bringing him back and having be manipulated into playing in another villain's plot in a future project, mirroring how he manipulated Anna and to a somewhat lesser extent Elsa in the first one.
And yeah, I don't think any of us really knew if Disney was ever going to make a third Frozen (though in retrospect, it's the highest grossing animated movie of all time so it was only inevitable), so with this announcement and while I still remain a bit cautious since I found Frozen 2 underwhelming, my passion for this franchise has been reinvigorated and I'm very much looking forward to speculating on what the movie will be about. Not just hypothesizing about how whether Hans will return or not, but what storylines Frohana could deal with as well.
And also hopefully to make some headway in writing Fractured and post the prologue eventually. š

Currently Developing An Ambitious Frozen III Fan-Fiction
Writer's block for me has been a persistent curse for a very long time, but over the past week and a half, there have been all these ideas taking shape in my head regarding a Frozen fanfic that would explore a continuation from Frozen 2 in a massive way. Now, originally, I had planned to make it revolve around Hans and only Hans, to write what he's been up to since Frozen Fever, with the intent of fully exploring his character in-depth as well as develop some worldbuilding for the Southern Isles and the rest of his family.
But the more I thought about this concept (and how some fanfictions have already explored it, though unfortunately most of the ones I've read seem to have been abandoned), the more other ideas regarding the other characters started to form along with it. Coupled with major inspirations from other terrific Frozen fan-fictions I've read (ex. Haunted Arendelle 2 by GoldenHeart-Stories, Pierced Hearts by FFcrazy15, Cry Havoc by Miss Muse Clues, The Next Unknown by simplesnowflake, pretty much everything Frozen related @calenheniel writes and what @bubchie have developed so far with their Hans solo project), creative juices I didn't know I still had started to rise up with a fierce passion to instead take on the task of writing what I think could be an epic, solid fan-made conclusion to the Frozen movies thus rounding it up to a trilogy (at least if or until Disney decides to officially greenlight Frozen 3 or a Frozen TV series, I think everyone is sick of them milking Olaf by now lol).
Though by comparison to what Disney would theoretically put out, I intend it to be much darker and explore serious themes of insecurities, self-hatred, powerlessness and self-reflection, coupled with a heavy dose of fantasy and mystical elements to go along with them since they're very much part of Frozen's DNA. Plus some comedy along the way because by god will levity be needed.
To be honest, I'm not an experienced writer. In fact, quite the opposite. I've written a lot of unfinished fanfiction stuff (non-Frozen related) about a decade back, but other than that nothing of this size and English is not my native language so I'm self-conscious enough to realize that, yet still try to make this as good as I possibly can and learning along the way. Though suggestions, feedback and constructive criticism are always welcomed if possible. š
I will post it on my fanfiction.net account once I complete the prologue (and then start work on the first chapter). Might be a while until then depending on how it goes, but I don't want to rush anything and instead take the time I need to make sure it turns out great.
To anyone interested, here are some non-spoilery bullet points I've written down so far to help with the writing process (there are more, but those contain major spoilers so I'm gonna keep them locked up for the time being), as well as this logo I made for the fanfic:
Peter Parker : Oh boy I saved the day Iām so glad my loved ones are safe. :)
Green Goblin :
three is the magic number!
The Monster You Created
I loved the finale, everyone was great but Donald was particularly epic and I just had to draw his little family exploring the world!
This is really not okay.
I think some people fail to realize that men can be sexually assaulted, too, and not just by other men. This girl shoves him against the wall and slaps him three fucking times when he pushes her away. Heck, he has to push her away twice before she backs off for a moment. Then she goes right back to kissing him.
If the genders were reversed, everyone on this site would be flipping a shit. And if anyone dares to tell me that itās different when a girl does it to a guy, I will personally write you a three-page essay on why it is still not okay.
Iām just going to REBLOG this all the fucking time
I SWEAR I WILL ALWAYS REBLOG THIS.
This is not okay. Gender does not matter. Forcing someone will never be okay. Never.
Iām looking at every single one of my 290+ followers right now, and Iām expecting you to reblog this.
Hey I hope you all reblog this AND DONāT IGNORE THIS.
Women can be just as abusive as men, despite what society tells you.

This is super important. Anybody can be the abuser, and it can be more subtle that that. Always be careful.
This is so fucking important. It doesnāt matter what the gender is, anyone can be abused/sexually assaulted and anyone can be the abuser/assaulter. This girl is so fucking wrong for hitting and pushing him and just straight up continue kissing him when heās clearly showing he doesnāt want to.
Never not friggin reblog
Anyone can be a victim. Took me until high school to learn that so time to spread the word
Y'all better fucking reblog this

Its so important

Prince Hans - Clarification On What A Redemption Arc Really Means
This post mostly refers to Prince Hans from Frozen, but can also be read regarding my feelings towards the redemption trope (both in media and in real life) as a whole. As well as my thoughts and views as to why bringing him back in a future Frozen project (be it another sequel or even a TV series) wouldnāt be a bad idea.
Might write a longer and more in-depth post in the future regarding Hansā character, but weāll see where this goes.
--
āHans does not deserve to get redeemed. His actions should not be ignored and thereās nothing he can do to atone or change himself for the better.ā
I have seen this counter-argument countless times as to why even the slightest suggestion to redeem Hans is moronic and completely far-fetched, and I think part of that is due to a lot of folks outright misconstruing what a redemption arc really entails.
Unlike what you might think, no, it does not mean that a villain is automatically forgiven for their wrongdoings, nor is that excusing their actions or assuming they were good all along, thatĀ āthey just werenāt given the chance to prove it.ā
No. Itās about someone realizing that their entire philosophy is wrong, and that their actions have consequences and ramifications that affect themselves and others around them; itās about learning humility, admitting youāve made mistakes, and trying to better yourself even if other people around you donāt think for a second that you can change, that you can even try to atone for the things youāve done; that you will take any criticism that comes your way because you know you deserve it, yet not letting it detain you from becoming a better person.
That, is what redemption is.
And in regards to Hans, I will say right now that I truly believe he should suffer consequences for his actions in Arendelle. Regardless of what his upbringing might have been like, it does not excuse in any way his attempts to commit regicide nor manipulating someoneās feelings to serve his agenda. Elsa and Anna have all the right to hate him.
Which is why I think all of this would be a terrific foundation for a redemption journey for him. Character wise, we know heās a person whoās very skillful at masquerading himself, and being the youngest of a very large family, which just brings so many storyline possibilities that could be mined and explored even if they hypothetically donāt bring him back to redeem him. Actually developing his character and not making him one-note, for instance, given that lots of people have big issues with his twist reveal in the first Frozen for a reason. See Elizabeth Rudnickās A Frozen Heart book (before you point it out, yes, Iām aware that itās not canon to the movies) as an example to how interesting a character Hans can really be if given the chance.
And the most important part of any redemption story is the journey. It would have to be developed well, be believable and take its time. Iām going to make the most obvious comparison here, but think of Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. His story-arc is pretty much the pinnacle of how any atonement story should be written. Apply this blueprint to Hans and he could very well become one of Disneyās most complex and interesting characters in their pantheon.
If you disagree or have further thoughts on this, feel free to leave replies below and Iāll try to respond to them. Just try to keep it civilized, guys. š
