I think it’s so cute that most people on cars tumblr ™ has one or a few specific characters that they’re particularly fond of, the more underrated/obscure the better imo like I just think it’s so Neat

Mater is SO autism coded

good examples as to why i think he is:

- he takes things verrrry literally (like when Sheriff tells him to keep an eye on Lightning, Mater closes one of his eyes!!)

- the way he talks about how he’s always wanted to ride in a helicopter makes it sound like he has some sort of special interest in them (i could be totally wrong but that’s just how i see it)

- Mater’s tow cable part wags kind of like a dog’s when he’s excited which could definitely be a stim for him!!

also i’m sure there’s a lot more but that’s what i really noticed when i rewatched the first movie :)

what's your favorite scene in each of the cars movies?

Cars: (i have two)

-Mater telling Lightning he owes him $32,000 in legal fees right before they tell Lightning about Bessie

-Guido comforting Luigi in the courtroom while Sally makes her speech (i also very much like Guido but not as much as Mater)

Cars 2:

-that one scene in Tokyo where Mater eats an entire plate of wasabi, mistakenly thinking it was pistachio ice cream

Cars 3:

-the scene where Cruz is about to go have her first race, and Mater stops Sterling from going anywhere by telling him about how much he loves his mud flaps (and then proceeds to tell the other about all the different kinds of flaps he collects)
