god this scene is so evil. i know they are all horrified that maybe a stray bullet hit ponyboy. and just looking at soda.. hes like looking desperately at the cops and at dallys body either for help or for any signs of remorse from them. aough

Pony would probably be relieved about that, but at the same time I could see him being really bitter about it too.

Yess exactly!! I also know Pony would be absolutely pissed off by the fact that they’re suddenly trying to mend things now that it’s cool. Like wearing greaser clothes has become a Soc trend. But like- not actual greaser clothes, expensive versions of the clothes greasers wear.

Or the fact that they’re all trying to be nice to the greasers now just to show what open minded people they are like-

“Hey man, thanks for saying it makes no difference to you how much money I have or where I live town. And thanks for saying you like my jeans- no I didn’t buy them scuffed up like this, we just can’t afford a new pair right now. Gonna add to your autistic Dallas hc!!Dallas DEFINITELY had huge problems with tone!! Like if he complimented something or said how cool something was it always came across sarcastic.

He reads to me as someone who was always being sincere but got asked “are you being sarcastic/mean/etc” when he was younger

Unfortunately it lead him to being more sarcastic and snarky when he got older

he totally got jumped or at least ruffled up in ny for this exact reason up to the point where he was like “man let me not say anything nice no more” cause he knew it was just gonna get across as disrespect💔💔

pony, who grew up having loving parents, who knows what love should look like and how to show it, would OBVIOUSLY be the down bad on.

curly was literally running from his parents every other day because of abuse. His mom and step-dad were constantly at each other’s throats and he was never truly shown love- even with Tim and Angels because THEY ALSO grew up in that environment(they do love each other so much trust)

Curly doesn’t know how to show love at all, and Pony knows how to show so much of it.

pony is down bad, Curly is very confused on what’s happening.

Thank you so much! One of my personal favorites that I actually haven’t seen at all is Ponyboy becoming a journalist after college. It just makes so much since to me, expecially since if he did publish the Outsiders in his universe it would be a memoir. And i think he probably realized after writing it that being a journalist would allow him to shed light on the injustices he hated and give people like Dally and Johnny the justice they deserve

Ponyboy canonically writes The Outsiders in their universe and has the rights to it... So he would have something to do with the movie/play/musical/TV show.

Which would explain why Steve got shoved into ensemble instead of being a main character.

Tim and Dally refuse to admit they like each other on principle, HOWEVER if you look at the facts of the situation they also spend like 90% of their time together and know more about each other than anybody else does so really they’re not fooling anyone
