Inspired by the growth of free nature this patterns show the power of repeating algoritms in short forms. Through the use of standard computer programs the artist questions our relation to data and their visual representation.
Nature
The growth of free nature means the world as it including the architecture as a form of organisation brought to the world by the human organism. The absent from houses we are the more we get in touch with the pure nature as growing. Coherence is given from thé limited set of data. The data pattern consist of integer values. This are the number of the immidiate count of singular things summing up to more. Limited not only to numbers but also to colors the pictures in no way like to imitate nature but are a technocratic choice from the standard computer programm. The creative act lies in choosing the lines.
Nature gives a lot of examples following a pattern and repeating itself to form more complex forms of existance. Snail houses are build vom recurring patterns and many plants use the same elements to build themself. Often recurring numbers or series of numbers like the fibonacci series occur in the underlying plan of building plants and animals. Certain relation in between numbers occur even when measuring the human corps.
Data Set
The data set is using simple series of integer values like 1-2-3-1-2-3-… and are shifted to their responsive place in the picture with an offset. The simplicity in using numbers leads to astonishing combinations when displayed as business grafics in Microsoft Excel.
