We all know Caine's avatar generation isn't particularly great, but what if it was somehow even *worse*?

What if you were particularly unlucky, and didn't even get to face for your existential crisis with your own face?

The whole idea was inspired by Caine mentioning his algorithm to create bodies based on mind files, in episode 8

And it got me thinking “what if he half assed that as much as name generation, and it really didn’t actually take much into account?”

anyway, I'm sure this won't be a thinly veiled trans experience allegory *will add link to pt2 when that's up, I gotta figure out tumblr formatting

I know it's old and pretty niche, so if you aren't familiar with The Storyteller, I highly recommend it. These are all from The Soldier and Death, my favorite episode, but Fearnot is a close second. And it's free on Prime Video.

So my next alter, Narset, Enlightened Exile as Korra!

I've always particularly liked this scene from Book 4, of Korra in the Earthbending fighting ring. Felt a bit risky to alter a card that isn't bulk, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Definitely still a lot of room for improvement, but still, I feel pretty good about it. Especially since it was done using brushes and mixing a few basic paint colors, which are still not exactly my comfort zone.

Didn't do anything fancy with the borders, but I love Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and felt like making some proxies from it.

And the Boar token is the first digital drawing of my own that I've put on a proxy! Made it in Procreate. Pretty happy with it.

Trying my hand at alters. These are attempt 2 and 3. The Entrapta Thrill of Possibility was done with Sharpie, the Kipo Swords to Plowshares was done with Army Painter paints.

I see a LOT of room for improvement, but I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with both of them.

Since I have an amazing Archimandrite alter as Tenzin, I figured I'd make some more Legend of Korra alters to fit the theme.

So as I've been getting more into doing digital alters I've also been getting to know people who follow and make alters. And there are a lot of cool artists who do this kind of thing. So I started picking up painted pieces from some of the people I like who make alters (mostly people I've met on Twitter, attributions here). I've made a shelf displaying my favorite pieces I have so far.

But I recently got my first commission! I asked hothqueenofsnow to alter The Archimandrite as Tenzin for me, and this is what she came up with. I think she did an absolutely amazing job!

First time I've drawn a frame. I've been trying to come up with an Owl House frame for a while. I love the monster face around the title bar. The rest I got some advice to help me figure out, and I like it, but don't love it. Might give it another pass later.

Made these (plus one I drew on a helper card) for an art trade with Trayboar on Twitter. He sent me some fantastic tokens in return.

This image of Aloy fit Vivien so perfectly I had to do this. But I don't like how my usual resources interact with planeswalkers, so I just took the scan from Scryfall and used that as a base. As a result, it's a little bit simpler than what I usually do, but I'm pretty happy with it anyway.

This is like the most iconic image of Entrapta, and it's perfect for Thrill of Possibility.
