Blog Post 10/2/2016
It’s hard to believe that October is already here. Honestly, it feels like the year has blown by. But it’s been a good one!
Anyway, I regret to say I’m late yet again with a Letter post. It’s been rough balancing school, work, creativity, etc. I just wanted to make a short blog post saying I wasn’t dead.Â
I’m going to be up late tonight doing a bunch of work, and I will get to it. I actually can at least say I’ve had a lot of good ideas for the series lately.Â
But that’s really all I wanted to report. Hopefully we will see a post tomorrow!

There is definitely a lot to talk about this week, so I’m going to jump right into it!
First off, Anywhere is back this week with letter seven going up today. I am definitely happy that I took the extra time to figure out where the direction of the series is headed. I think it’s back into a groove now, and Part One should see some interesting developments over the next month or two.Â
Secondly, the next article post goes up on Monday, and this one is a different one for me. I wrote this week on a business development out of the ridesharing industry in which Uber and other companies will now how to partially subsidize taxi companies. I’m not one to normally delve too much into business writing, but the politics behind this move were something I felt the need to write about.Â
In news regarding Blog For Thought, everything is moving along smoothly! I already have some key moves done and ready to go, including finding a head editor to the photography section, Through The Lens. He is a good friend of mine, and I can’t wait to work with him on bringing great content to our readers and followers.
Finally, I just wanted to take a second to note that tomorrow marks two months of continuing along with this blog! While this doesn’t seem like much of a big deal, I am glad that I brought this back into my life. It is certainly improving my writing day by day and making me a more motivated an driven individual. I can’t wait to make it two more months, and keep doing it from then on!
For now, that’s all! If you’re following the blog make sure to like and reblog this post to spread the word! If you’re not following, press that follow button to stay up to date with the blog! You can check out the new posts and other content on the blog or on the medium page, here.Â

burn
you left and so did the fire extinguished like your love for what this once was now not even a flicker
spending seasons contemplating the blaze oh how it burned how it burned brighter than any light light that made the darkness disappear cry out in fear
we couldn’t be stopped wildfire we burned out of control oh how it burned
fall brought the end & saw our world engulfed by the flames we so fiercely kindled
we set the mountains ablaze but ashes fall like snow on the embers on the thing we once called love … …but oh, how it burned….

So I’m back with some more news. All posts this week are going according to plan, and if you want to view them go ahead and check them out at our Medium feed here. Other than that, I have a lot to say regarding some changes that will be going on.Â
First, I will say nothing is changing for the worse. I think all the changes I have planned will definitely be for the better. In fact, the content will stay relatively the same for the time being. Nonetheless, what will be changing is the organization itself.Â
Starting October 1st I will be revamping the blog and putting it under a new name. From then on, this blog will be known as Blog For Thought. This is the first change of many to come, and I’m excited to announce it. The reason I am doing this is I feel like I can accomplish more both content wise and collective wise as far as making a blog I can be proud of. All the different sections, of which there will be four, will have their own theme of publications. One will cover short stories (like a writing blog), one will cover weekly current events (like a micro-news source), one will cover bigger stories focused on the world, and one will be the photography feature.Â
Making all these changes will definitely be quite the undertaking, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I hope that with these changes what I want to accomplish will provide a great deal of high quality written entertainment. I will continue to implement the use of Medium as well, making a publication under the blogs name.Â
So for now, that’s all I have to say. Next week I will have more news for these updates, and more posts coming (including diving back into Anywhere!). Until then, please relbog the post and help spread the word, and check out the Medium above to see our content!

So this week I am at an impasse. I have come to a point in the Anywhere plot that requires me to start writing it in a different direction than what I currently have. I was not expecting this, as I didn’t start editing the letter due to be posted next (letter seven) until yesterday. While that’s partially my fault, I feel I need extra time and planning to figure out a good direction from this point. So, this week I will be taking a break from Anywhere to post a separate short story. This is one has received good reviews from friends who have read it, and I think it will be a good place holder for the story post tomorrow.Â
As per usual, I’ll have an article ready to go on Monday. I think I will be making another blog post to kind of clarify what I am doing with the articles, and possibly come to a decision as to more content expansions. Speaking of content expansions I have talked about before, the photography expansion is still in the works. I am finding a few different people who might be able to contribute in a good way and I’m trying to make it fit well into what is going on here. But as far as the future of it I have no other specific details. I have a lot of different ideas to implement into this blog, but I’m trying to pace myself so as to not continually change the layout and content schedule.
As always if you want to stay up to date with us, follow the blog. If you already do, reblog this post and tell your friends! You can always check out our content over on our blog, or at our Medium page here.Â

Anywhere Letter Six, Monday’s Article About Syria
The next Anywhere letter is out. It’s funny that I’ve been doing this for almost two months now. I was thinking about this the other day. It doesn’t seem like that much time on paper, but I can see how it is something to be proud of. I’m really happy with how things are turning out, and I’m even happier with how it is improving my writing! I was also thinking about what it is, and how I should explain what I am aiming to do with it. I am releasing these “letters” episodically each week because it’s something I feel like hasn’t been done before (or at least I haven’t witnessed it). So I am trying to make episodic short stories a staple of this blog, as it is a form of storytelling I enjoy very much. I think it adds to the intimacy of the story.
As for Monday’s post, I chose to write an article this week on a current event coming out of Syria. It is about a photo of a young boy named Omran Daqneesh which has been making its rounds on news platforms. You can look up the photo I am specifically talking about for yourself, or even the video it comes from. But I felt like there was something to be said about the video that isn’t exactly being said. That’s all I will say about it for now, as I think the article will be pretty self-explanatory.

Transition to Medium.com made, Changes to Organization
Today I made the transition to all the stories being stored and hosted on Medium.com. I did this as a way to organize things better on this blog, as well as take advantage of the social capabilities both Tumblr and Medium have to offer. The organizational changes come in the form of making links to specific postings on Medium, and getting rid of a lot of the fluff on here to make stories easier to find. I’m really hoping that this will improve traffic and grow the blog. Please keep spreading the word and giving it love!
So now that that stuff is taken care of, I’ll be continuing to post every Friday with a letter from Anywhere, and I may start posting twice a week with an additional story or article coming on Monday. I have posted a couple articles over on Medium, one independently and one through Snowbird Songs, and so far I like how it’s turning out. So, look out for another letter this Friday like I said, and most likely an additional story on Monday!
Don’t forget to follow us here or on Medium.com to see more, and like and reblog the post to spread the word!
