"Shh, shhāI know," he murmured quietly when he felt the other tense. Smoothing down his fur once more, he waited until he was relaxed before he went back to work. He tried to be as quick and careful as possible, placing aside strips of tape when he managed to hack off a piece. He really did feel bad for doing it so unevenly, he just hoped that the dog did not mind so much.
Once he was finished,he offered a small smile and just kept him in his lap, petting him gently. He did not know if there was any more damage other than the head wound, but he probably should get him into the bath, first. But for now, he just wanted to give the dog some time to calm down and absorb his surroundings.
"Tch, Momoi would never believe me if I told her about youāsheād think I was possessed or something," he muttered, almost dryly, as he ran his fingers through the thick fur. "āYou, being nice? ā Since when!ā, she would say," his attempt of mimicking his coach was probably not that great, but then again, he had a deep voiceānot some girly one. Not to mention he was not really trying.
Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind and he carefully stood up, leaving the scissors along on the floor before he cradled him to his chest once more. āYou probably want some water, huh?" Moving toward the cupboards, he found a bowl before filling it with cold water. Setting it down on the floor, he carefully set the Shiba down, sitting down against the cabinets once more, one leg sprawled out while the other was bent at the knee.
(^ā¢į“„ā¢^)āĀ Those soothing coos didn't really get the boy far with Michi at first, the fear surrounding his heart as thick as steel. But the more tape came off the less powerful his shield became. Michi watched, transfixed, abashed, and horrified, eyes following every shred of fur that was removed. In the grand scheme of things, that tiny little detail shouldn't be at the top of his worries but somehow he knew it'd be strange to walk around with this bad salon treatment. But Michi-really appreciated this man's kindness; it's not a privilege he receives very often. A couple of times he winced when the scissors brushed one of the raw, bitten-through places, but the sting wasn't so bad.
Because the process was slow, deliberate, Michi grew curious and moved his head a bit, gazes eating up everything he could see from this low vantage point. A plain but nice house...surely better than anything Michi ever had or hoped of having. He heard speaking from above and tilted his nose, ears brushing the human's chest as he looked upside down at him, blinking. Was he talking to himself? No, his words were pinpointed on Michi...or perhaps both. If only he could speak to humans in this form....He might have actually breathed out a small chuckle at that poor but funny attempt to imitate a girl's voice. Surrounded by a nice home and nice people...how lucky.
Michi didn't even notice when they were done, but there was suddenly a free, weightlessness at his legs, not to; he glanced down, lifting his left paw. Uneven, but...cleanly cut off. Michi felt a swell of emotions in his little shiba chest, but he wasn't given long to feelĀ too sentimental as he was picked up again. Somewhat used to being held like this now by the human, Michi dipped his chin a bit, black nose twitching while the water was filling the bowl. He'd only just noticed how incredibly dry his throat and mouth were. He kept his eyes on the container in anticipation, giving a small nod that the boy probably didn't even see. Despite his sudden crave, Michi stood still when he was placed down, staring at the bowl silently. His curled tail shifted, glancing over a shoulder with an apprehensive 'are you sure?' expression; he did this two more times before inching forward and giving the clear, cold substance a lick. Oh gosh that's good.
Forgetting everything else, Michi drank to his heart's content, creating quiet lapping sounds. He finished it pretty quickly, leaning back and plopping down on his bottom, Michi looked over to the other, licking at his maw, tail sweeping the floor slowly.Ā
