I’m literally shaking as I write this

President Sebastián Piñera just declared Chile at “state of emergency” over the riots that are taking place in Santiago.

This means that the police, military and special forces are no longer subject to our constitution’s laws; they can legally violate our human rights without getting any punishment.

Guys, I’m scared. They’re torturing people and a student is already missing. They’re throwing tear gas grenades directly at people, shooting teens and college students, hitting and hurting anyone who happens to be on the streets. They apparently killed two college students already.

Please, please don’t let this get swept under the rug.

They literally confirmed yesterday (October 24th) that the cops were torturing people inside Baquedano metro statiom, so far the government says that there are 15 people dead HOWEVER the INDH (National Humand Rights Institute) has reported this number is too low, and several doctors and nurses working in the public sector have stated that both police and military have harassed them in order to keep them quiet about the real number of people that have been hurt by police/military, they are shooting at people in cities that are not even under curfew (eg. Curico).

THE POLICE ARE SHOOTING AT OUR FACES TO BLIND US, FUCKING LITERALLY.

So far no one has resigned, and yesterday conservative senator Camila Flores ripped the photographs of the people that have been killed off leftist senator Pamela Jiles (who, btw, was tortured and raped in the 1973 dictorship) all while Andres Chadwick Piñera (Yes, Piñera, he is the president’s cousin) the minister of internal affairs was smirking like the evil man he is (earlier this year he covered up the murder of Camilo Catrillanca, a mapuche man that was murdered by police officers, we all now about the cover up but he has yet to resign)

That is Camila Flores in the red skirt not only tearing the photos off Pamela Jiles’ hands but also ripping them in half, along with conservative senators Erika Oliveira and Paulina Ñuñez.

Fun fact (or not fun really): during the dictatorship when Chadwick was a student in The Catholic University of Chile (PUC) he kicked Pamela Jiles, also a student there, becase she was a leftist, he has always been fucking evil.

A bit of context of what is happening in Chile right now thanks to @typpocl on instagram.

A curfew was declared a couple of hours ago (the last curfew we had was during dictartorship around 1990)

The president sent the military to the city and even when we are 30 minutes away from the curfew people is still out there protesting. The police brutality goes from physical aggression to shootings.

Please spread this info because I don’t think this has reached international news yet.
