This is inspired by Nicolaj Ma's great but controversially discussed tutorial on how to add performance to your Canon lens.
I like the durability of the painted red ring in his solution, as professional photographers value their "L" lenses above all for their resilience.
My approach, however, is simpler, can be undone, and weatherproofs your lens (sort of).
You'll need (1) a Canon lens (2) a red rubber band
Put the rubber band over one end of your lens, align it nicely, and you're done.
