the irony of one of sokka's biggest insecurities being that he feels inferior and left out bc he isnt a bender and irl he is constantly excluded from things both official and not bc he isnt a bender

was thinking about how in legacy of the fire nation iroh says that katara and zuko both share a deep passion for things and it got me thinking about how they both also had a point of misdirected anger zuko directing his anger with ozai at iroh and katara directing her general anger with losing her mom at zuko (when he joins the gaang) and then I realized that in 'the southern raiders' in a way zuko for lack of better words treats katara very similarly to how iroh treated him during his three years of banishment. like he's patient with her even she lashes out at him for something he had nothing to do with, he tries to turn her away from the path of revenge bc its something he knows won't be fulfilling but she she doesn't back down he supports her anyway and lets her take the lead bc it's her journey and her discovery she needs to make. and in the end when she realizes/decides revenge is not the path she wants to take he once again just encourages her and supports her the way iroh always did for him. and I think it's really nice that whether it was consciously or subconsciously he picked things up from the way iroh treated him all those years. and I also think that ppl always talk about the azula/katara and zuko/sokka parallels alot that they ignore how many zuko/katara and azula/sokka parallels there are.
