When PJ is compared to TVD ships, it’s usually Steroline and/or Delena and I understand that for the build-up for DE the two-people-who-shouldn’t-fall-for-each-other-but-do-to-the-anguish-of-someone-who-means-the-world-to-both-of-them relationship and for Steroline the bickering-we-are-best-friends-because-of-circumstance-but-we’re-starting-to-fall-for-each-other dynamic but when PJ are actually together, the intimacy they have, the sort of gentleness Pacey adopts with Joey, the playfulness, the intensity of their affection, their secret smiles and shared gazes, that’s very Stelena. OK but for real Mariah has never even uttered her name once so this is a huge deal that she finally acknowledges her. I can only recall FIVE recorded instances where she was confronted with Ariana’s name.

The first one–the most iconic one that “started the feud” (even though there was never truly one to begin with) was Mariah on The Breakfast Club in February 2014 (before the My Everything era started). She probably said a lot more (since the segment is cut) but we’ll never know. Ariana has stopped mentioning Mariah since Yours Truly / post-The Way interviews.

The second one–Mariah implies that she’s been crediting for inspiring upcoming artists at the World Music Awards in August 2014 during the smashing of Problem/Break Free/Bang Bang aka the peak of Mariah/Ariana comparisons.
